00:05:17I probably had like 10 or 15 of those to the point where I was like, I might puke.

00:05:20Like I was just taking them, chugging them, grabbing beers, stone cold and among people,

00:05:25people were bringing out ACE of ACE of a spade bottles.

00:05:28We were like spraying the crowd with champagne.

00:05:29You were the front duck boat.

00:05:31We were the first duck boat.

00:05:32So how did that work when you were, you were driving down the street and you see people

00:05:35on the side of the road and they're like cheering for your float.

00:05:39At first, are you like intimidated to wave back at them?

00:05:43Because you think to yourself like they're not waving at me, they're waving at coach.

00:05:46Well, it was just the whole time I kept thinking how crazy it was that if I wasn't on the boat,

00:05:51I lit, I was just looking out at a sea of, of myself, like looking out at, at, you know,

00:05:56my people, people from Boston.

00:05:57I was like, if I wasn't on this boat, I would be in that crowd.

00:06:00And they were all just so excited.

00:06:01Like the energy was so high.

00:06:03Missoula was the first person they saw.

00:06:05And so when they saw him, they started going nuts.

00:06:06And so it was just like getting the crowd, you know, pumped up for the rest of the parade,

00:06:10which was super easy.

00:06:11People were, people were so excited.

00:06:12There was so many people, I could not believe, I kept thinking like, it's got to be over

00:06:17soon and we just kept going and it just got, the crowds got bigger and bigger and bigger.

00:06:22People were just going insane.

00:06:25It was, it was, it was, it was the greatest, it was something I'll never, I can't even

00:06:30put into words how, how lucky I was to be able to do that.

00:06:32You got to experience what being a champion at the highest level of sports is like, that's

00:06:37what you got to experience on Friday.

00:06:39Biggest, biggest parade and NBA championship history.

00:07:06So everyone has to sit down and, and everyone's buckled at this point too.

00:07:11And Missoula, you know, huddles everyone around.

00:07:13Like I said, it's literally his direct family and you know, his personal team and then me

00:07:17and, and he gives you are, you are one of his best friends and he goes, uh, he's like

00:07:22every single person here, you all played a part in this championship except Hank.

00:07:28And then everyone started laughing.

00:07:29Yeah.

00:07:30It was so, it was so, it was so funny.

00:07:32So Max, you were in charge of cutting up social stuff and, and having your eyes on the internet

00:38:01But you can also look at the two years that he didn't play and then say, what would MJ

00:46:12The Edmonton Oilers have come back from 3-0 to force a game seven on, on Monday night

00:46:18tonight as you're listening to this, they dragged the Panthers back to Florida.

00:46:22Yes.

00:46:23So drag them back to Burda, baby.

00:46:24So, uh, wait, let's start with this.

00:46:26How the hell has this happened?

00:46:28What is, what has occurred in the last three games that have gone from a team that looked

00:46:33like they were absolutely dead to now look like they are the better team on the ice?

00:46:38I would say many things, but I, I kind of lean towards what you guys trolled me and

00:46:43trolled PKC bandwidth and have trolled forever nonstop about Connor McDavid and him being

00:46:50the greatest athlete in the world right now, better at his sport than any other person

00:46:55is at their sport.

00:46:56And you made jokes about the ice time and jokes about the lack of titles.

00:47:01And now he's one game away and everything changed in game four.

00:47:04He had four points game five.

00:47:06He had another four points first player in the history of the league to get back to back

00:47:10four point games in the Stanley cup final.

00:47:13It's been insane to watch this team.

00:47:16Just just thinking about tonight and thinking about this game, it gives me goosebumps.

00:47:21And obviously I'm an Oilers fan, but I think all hockey fans even feel that way because

00:47:26we're, we're kind of witnessing history.

00:47:28It's happened once before, 1942 PFTs boy Hitler was alive when it fucking happened.

00:47:33I know he's not, I know he's not your boy, but you have made many a joke, but it's just

00:47:38something that this team has figured out each series, how to play against their opponent.

00:47:44As the series has gone on first round, not necessarily the case.

00:47:47They made easy work of LA.

00:47:49They're a lot better team than them, but then the second round, right?

00:47:52They're down three, two to Vancouver.

00:47:54They come back and win that.

00:47:55He made a goaltending change.

00:47:57Stuart Skinner has been incredible since, but he ended up putting in Calvin Picard and started

00:48:01him a couple of games in that series and the team figured it out and they were able

00:48:05to come back and win that thing.

00:48:07And then against Dallas, they won game one, all of a sudden they're down and then they

00:48:11boom, they rip off three straight in that series as well.

00:48:14So it's been figuring out your opponent, um, somehow changing the lines, the way Chris

00:48:20Knobloch has, he's had a masterclass in coaching that what this guy's done.

00:48:25It's incredible.

00:48:26He's had numerous guys in and out of the lineup, guys up and down the lineup, different lines,

00:48:31pinching up pairings on the defense.

00:48:33It's been wild to see.

00:48:34And then it all came together with that offside challenge in game six, which was just the

00:48:39biggest turning point I've ever seen.

00:48:41Florida makes it to one 10 seconds after Edmonton makes it to nothing.

00:48:46They challenge it.

00:48:47It was offsides by the slightest margin.

00:48:49I actually didn't think it was, but then a picture came out after and showed that it

00:48:53really was just barely.

00:48:55But everything that this coach has touched has turned to gold from him coming in when

00:49:00they were in last place or second to last place, like in middle of November to now where

00:49:04they won, went away from winning the Stanley cup.

00:49:07It's an incredible story, not only in hockey, but in all of sport.

00:49:10And I think it's going to be just a wild night.

00:49:12I think it's going to overtime, which I didn't think it ever happened.

00:49:16Somebody told me it did.

00:49:17It might've been in the twenties or thirties for all I know, but game seven overtime for

00:49:21the Stanley cup.

00:49:22I feel like this season has been so crazy that it might happen tonight.

00:49:26I'm pumped.

00:49:27I'm pumped me up.

00:49:28I'm very excited.

00:49:29I'm serious to see how it shifted around with McDavid.

00:49:32Do you think that there's any chance he heard the haters out there saying, you're never

00:49:36going to win the big one.

00:49:37If you're so great, how come you haven't accomplished this?

00:49:39Do you think that he's heard any of that?

00:49:41I don't know.

00:49:42He seems like one of those ultra focus, super serious guys.

00:49:45That's that's I'm not in the room.

00:49:47I guess guys love them.

00:49:49And he seems like one of the dudes when he's in the room.

00:49:52But with media, he's always been, I don't really want to say standoffish, but almost

00:49:56just like I have no interest in doing media.

00:49:59He's not somebody that's looking to get his brand out there or anything like that.

00:50:02I think his whole singular focus his entire life has been on winning the Stanley Cup.

00:50:06He's a he's a child prodigy.

00:50:08He's been the greatest player since he first started skating.

00:50:11He's one of those stories that for everyone who says, yeah, like, you know, the best player

00:50:16at eight is never the best player at 12 and the best player at 12 is never the best player

00:50:20at 16.

00:50:21He's he's the anomaly.

00:50:23He's him and Crosby and Gretzky and Lemieux.

00:50:25There's there's a few guys that are just born in every sport to be the greatest.

00:50:29And that's been him since a very young age.

00:50:32His dream has been to win the Stanley Cup.

00:50:33Now he's leading a team that has had a lot of, I would say, dark days.

00:50:37I mean, when I was there, it was called the decade of darkness.

00:50:40It certainly hasn't been the case since he arrived, but they still have had some devastating

00:50:45playoff losses.

00:50:46And to me, it's like you've lost the last two years to the Stanley Cup champs.

00:50:50They got swept in the conference finals by Colorado in 2022.

00:50:53Last year, they lose to Vegas in the second round and they go on to win.

00:50:58And it's now it seems like it's his time.

00:51:00It didn't seem this way a week ago or whatever it was when it was three oh and it looked

00:51:04like it was going to be a drumming.

00:51:06But something has happened.

00:51:07And I think for him, it's like nothing matters until I get that cup and he could go on and

00:51:13he's he's breaking records that people thought were never even going to be sniffed.

00:51:17I mean, he's touching Gretzky point per game levels in the playoffs.

00:51:21He grabbed 100 assists this year, which Kucherov from Tampa Bay did as well.

00:51:24They were the fourth and fifth player to ever do it after Gretzky, Lemieux and Bobby Orr.

00:51:28So he's done things along the way that have proved that he is the greatest player in the

00:51:33league and in the world.

00:51:34But nothing matters without the cup and all the great ones.

00:51:37They end up getting a Stanley Cup.

00:51:39No disrespect to Joe Thornton or Jerome McGinley like Connor McDavid's different than these

00:51:43guys.

00:51:44So without the cup, it is this emptiness there.

00:51:47And now he's this close.

00:51:48That's why I it's one game momentum.

00:51:52I don't believe carries over and game to game in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

00:51:56It's just like a new game within itself.

00:51:58But when you have a guy like this, right, I just I can't imagine he doesn't take over.

00:52:03Well, he has those plays.

00:52:04I think it was it was a game five when he had that assist to Corey Perry.

00:52:09That was just he basically just took on the entire Panthers team.

00:52:13And then the last second dumped into Corey Perry for a perfect one timer with an open

00:52:18goal.

00:52:19It's like those are the type of plays that no one else can make.

00:52:21And he's making them at the highest level at the highest stage.

00:52:25He has the assist record.

00:52:26Yeah, I mean, it's been awesome to watch.

00:52:28It's been incredible to watch.

00:52:29You always want to watch greatness.

00:52:31So in terms of the game to game adjustments, because it's a great point.

00:52:35It's one of my favorite things about watching seven game series, just whether you're talking

00:52:39about, you know, hockey, baseball, basketball, but the game to game adjustments that teams

00:52:44make to get to figure out their opponent and like finding that special sauce like that

00:52:50was even when the Blackhawks are making their runs, Quinville was always like we were down

00:52:54a couple of times in the Stanley Cup or the series and just be like, find those adjustments.

00:52:59So those adjustments been found.

00:53:02What are the Panthers do back because it feels like they're on their heels right now.

00:53:07That's what I don't know for the Panthers.

00:53:09I think their fans right now are most panicked about the power play.

00:53:14And Edmonton's power play has carried them for years.

00:53:16It's been it's been I've called it on chicklets, the greatest power play in the history of

00:53:20hockey, which people laugh at.

00:53:22But then you look at some of the numbers and they snap it around and create so many opportunities.

00:53:27Even if they don't score, it's like momentum switched in the game because of their power

00:53:31play.

00:53:32But the Panthers, they have nothing going.

00:53:34Now, credit has to be given to the Oilers PK when when Woodcroft was fired in November

00:53:40and Knoblauch came in.

00:53:42He's talked about that.

00:53:43He had no idea.

00:53:44He had never really ran a penalty kill and he wasn't ready to do it at the time.

00:53:49So he had Mark Stewart, who had been coaching there prior and stayed on the staff when when

00:53:54Woodcroft was let go.

00:53:55He played in the NHL a long time.

00:53:56I played with him in junior.

00:53:59He was a hard nosed defenseman, played on the penalty kill, knew what he was doing.

00:54:03He gave it to him and their PK has been outstanding since I think they've killed off 44 of the

00:54:08last 45 in the playoffs.

00:54:10It's clipping it like 94 percent.

00:54:12It's just unstoppable what they've done.

00:54:14They ended up taking McDavid and Dreisaitl off the PK and just giving guys really like

00:54:20significant roles on the penalty kill and they had pairings for the forward.

00:54:23So the same two forwards are out each time, one after another, and they've like had this

00:54:28cohesiveness where they have so much trust in each other that that every other team's

00:54:33power play becomes really like bad against the Oilers.

00:54:36Right.

00:54:37There's so much skill there, but they're like standing still and Edmonton pressures.

00:54:43They're not moving the puck around.

00:54:44They're not getting into their set.

00:54:45So they're carrying into the zone.

00:54:47Edmonton's pressuring and all of a sudden they're never able to get set up so much so

00:54:51that Edmonton's getting breakaways shorthanded.

00:54:53They're scoring shorthanded goals.

00:54:55They're getting chances when they're down a man when it's one of those things where

00:54:58you need to like at least get two, three, four shots on net on the power play and nobody

00:55:03can do it against Edmonton.

00:55:05So if I'm the Panthers going into the game, I guess this morning or Sunday morning at

00:55:09practice they were working on the power play a lot.

00:55:11They're throwing Tarasenko onto the top unit for tonight's game seven.

00:55:15He hasn't been there.

00:55:16Brandon Montour, who's a really good offensive defenseman, struggled in the playoffs, even

00:55:20kind of struggled this whole season.

00:55:22He's now off as as the number one guy running that power play.

00:55:25It's now Oliver Ekman Larson.

00:55:27They've moved him there.

00:55:28So they're just looking for answers.

00:55:30It's a great question, Big Cat, because they had they had everything wrapped up.

00:55:35It was done and I was actually in Edmonton for games three and four.

00:55:39It was such a bummer.

00:55:40I think they got three goals in about six minutes in game three.

00:55:43All of a sudden, Edmonton mounts this comeback at the end.

00:55:46They're unable to tie it.

00:55:47It's like a series is over and all these lunatic Oilers fans like Oilers and seven Oilers and

00:55:52seven.

00:55:53I was playing golf with a guy and he's like, no, they're going to they're going to seven.

00:55:56I'm like, do you believe that?

00:55:58Are you just like saying that as a fan?

00:55:59He's like, no, they're they figure teams out throughout the series.

00:56:03Just win game four at home, steal one at five.

00:56:05We ain't losing in six.

00:56:06And then it's a coin flip.

00:56:07I love it.

00:56:08They all they all described it to perfection and they blew him out in game four.

00:56:12And I think I think Florida really needs Bobrovsky to show up to.

00:56:20Apparently, he didn't practice Sunday either, which is very rare for him.

00:56:24Obviously, at this point, you're not getting any news.

00:56:29I mean, he's looked like he's struggling.

01:12:58This year he comes in on a one-year deal and he's got the ability to play with McDavid.

01:13:05There's all this promise and he didn't score for about 65 games, whatever it was.

01:13:11I said before the playoffs, it doesn't matter how bad you are in the regular season.

01:13:16You can change the entire discussion of your season based on a playoff performance.

01:13:21He was a healthy scratch.

01:13:22I think the first four or five games of the playoffs and has been incredible since.

01:13:27That third line has been huge for them.

01:13:29If that third line can get a goal and then their power play can get a goal, Edmonton

01:13:33goes on and wins the Stanley Cup.

01:13:35I know I'm mentioning both power plays, but when they're that valuable in a game like

01:13:39this, you got to think that both teams get two to three.

01:13:43I think the refs hopefully will keep it pretty even and at least give a chance to one team

01:13:55other unless it's really dominating on that one team's aspect or ability to play the game.

01:19:50So it was bent over trying to lift this fucking balloon up and he's a, he's a girthy man.

01:19:56And so it's trying to lift this thing up.

01:19:58We've got the leaf blower in there on full speed and my hair gets sucked into the intake

01:20:02of it and I just feel it jerk my head.

01:20:04And then because everyone's yelling and having a great time, no one can hear me saying, stop,
