03:26Innovative research at the University of California sparked the idea for BabyMozart.
03:30Students exposed to Mozart's music showed a significant increase in intelligence test
03:35scores over those exposed to the music of other composers, a phenomenon that is now
03:40known as the Mozart Effect.
03:42In another study, preschoolers scored up to 80% better on tests of spatial and temporal
03:47reasoning after just eight months of piano keyboard lessons.
03:52Why Mozart?
03:53For now, the reasons are unclear.
03:55Scientists speculate that Mozart's music stimulates particular neural pathways in the brain that
04:00are linked to abstract and spatial reasoning.
04:03BabyMozart is meant to stimulate your child visually while introducing the musical magic
04:08of Mozart, orchestrated for young listeners.
04:12The soundtrack also contains interesting, humorous, and familiar sounds to keep your
04:16child focused.
04:17Interact with your baby as you watch the video.
04:20Play together, dance, and use the images on the screen to teach words to your child.
04:26Young babies should be placed fairly close to the screen to properly see the visuals.
04:31The wonderful melodies and playful nature of the orchestration will get some children

04:37Others will enjoy the video while eating, during quiet time, or before bed.
04:42Listening to Mozart's music will benefit your baby, as will exposure to a variety of sounds,
04:47musical instruments, and musical forms.

04:56Encourage your child to participate in musical activities, play musical instruments, and
