00:00Q fever is controlled, so no one should be concerned, according to the Department of Health.

00:12After killing and burying 60 goats in Santa Cruz, Marinduque del Saquiu Fever last week,

00:28The Department of Health is still waiting for the results because the disease can be transmitted to other animals or humans.

00:35Q fever is a zoonotic disease where the transmission from animals to humans is seen.

00:42What we are waiting for now is to find out if the goats from the United States were exposed to Q fever.

00:51When the Department of Health checks, level 2 and 3 hospitals in the provinces have isolation facilities if necessary.

00:59Those who were exposed to animals with Q fever will be reported immediately if they have symptoms.

01:06The symptoms are typically mild and also nonspecific.

01:10The symptoms are fever, fatigue, headache, nausea or vomiting.

01:18But the DOH said that no one should be concerned.

01:21We are not concerned. It is already controlled.

01:23In January, 74 goats were imported from the United States to breed.

01:30Some tests were conducted before it was confirmed in June.

01:34Aside from Marinduque, there were also imported goats in Pampanga that were immediately killed and buried so that they would not be infected.

01:42In Marinduque, there are still six goats within the breeding station.

01:46All of them were killed and depopulated.

01:49The Agriculture Department promised to use complete personal protective equipment

01:55and to follow the protocol of the 23 people of the Bureau of Animal Industry who depopulated the goats.

02:03It has not yet been confirmed that our personnel have symptoms of Q fever.
