00:21in Analaran intercepted 8.2 kilograms methamphetamine concealed in imported chocolate packs in Lagos
00:26and marked 76-year-old grandfather with 340.8 kilograms drug consignment in Abuja.
00:31The statement reads, in quote thus, a snake-guarded shrine used to store illicit drugs in a Go
00:36community, Benin City, Edo State, has been raided by operatives of the National Drug
00:41Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, who detected a specially constructed large home storage
00:45in the wall covered with wallpapers and fetish objects.
00:48Different quantities of illicit substances such as methamphetamine, laud, Colorado and
00:52Arizona, all strong strands of cannabis with a total weight of 8.743 kilograms, were pulled
00:58out from the big home dug in the wall of the shrine building.
01:00At least, two ladies, Sonia Chinonso Esmezu and Rizika Tutijani were arrested during the
01:05intelligence-led operation on Tuesday, 18 June 2024 after the big black snake guarding
01:09the shrine was demobilized.
01:10In the same van, two suspects, Obi Fagosin, 45, and Ernest Abanon, 46, were arrested on
01:18Saturday, the 22nd of June when NDLEA operatives raided the Yuzu Forest in Obia's southwest
01:23local government area, Edo State, where 209 kilograms cannabis and a motorcycle were recovered.
01:28Meanwhile, NDLEA officers in Lagos have intercepted a carefully packaged consignment of 8.2 kilograms
01:34of methamphetamine at a motor park in Mazamaza, Ojo area of the state.
01:38The highly addictive illicit substance, also called ice or crystal meth, was packed in
01:42imported Dunkin' Total Lock chocolate wraps and then concealed in the casing of three
01:45loudspeakers.
01:46A 39-year-old suspect, Michael Onyemungu, was sending the consignment to Oweri.
01:51Imostant was promptly arrested on Wednesday, 19 June at the park.
01:54In Amunja, operatives on Tuesday, 18 June intercepted a white Nissan Frontier pick-up
01:59vehicle with amber lights and fake registration number of a security agency at Key Village
02:03in Kuje area of the FCT.
02:05The vehicle was loaded with 454 compressed blocks of cannabis sativa, weighing 340.8
02:11kilograms procured at Ozeba, Edo State.
02:14A 76-year-old grandfather, Mr. Francis Omofa, linked to the consignment was arrested.
02:19He claimed to have been in the illicit drug business for 10 years.
02:22With the same vigor, commands and formations of the agency across the country continue
02:26their war against drug abuse, WADA, sensitization activities in schools, worship centers, workplaces
02:32and communities among others in the past week.
02:35These include WADA Enlightenment Lecture for students and teachers of scent, Peters College,
02:40Mibo, Alhambra, students and staff of Apostolic Grammar School, Elisha, Oshun State, students
02:46and teachers of Emmanuel Baptist High School, Oyo Town, Oyo State, students and staff of
02:51Federal Government Science and Technical College, Otoopa, Benue State, as well as WADA Advocacy
02:56Lecture for Muslim Faithful during their Jamaat prayer in Umuahia, Abia State and the WADA
03:01Advocacy Visit to the First Lady of Emugu State, Mrs. Nkecheneri Uma by the State Command
03:05of NDLEA.
03:06While commanding the officers and men of the DOE, Lagos, and FCT commands, Chairman, Chief
03:12Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brigadier General Mohamed Boubamawa, retired, noted the balance
03:17in their drug supply reduction and drug demand reduction efforts as well as those of their
03:20compatriots across the country.
03:22He charged them to maintain the ongoing offensive action against drug cartels as they continue
