00:00And as the teams go through the usual formalities before the start of the game, a chance for
00:15us just to confirm the team news, Hull City have made four changes for this game, they've
00:20lost here in midweek to Barnsley, McCoughlin, Honeyman, Samuelsson and the former Leeds
00:25man Wilkes all come into the starting XI for Hull City for this game this afternoon.
00:31For Leeds United, again, as we've said before, it's a little more straightforward, there's
00:36an enforced change in terms of the goalkeeper, so Mellier, the S apparently is silent, Mellier
00:41comes in for his first Championship start in place of Kiko Kossia and a fit again, Calvin
00:47Phillips returns to the starting XI in place of the unfortunate Gaetano Berardi who's amongst
00:54the replacements.
00:55And Elder, with a long throw towards the edge of the six-yard box, McGuinness header on
01:02and it just drifts beyond the oncoming Samuelsson, and goes behind for a goal kick, but the worked
01:09throw in there for Leeds, just a moment of anxiety.
01:13That's what McGuinness brings to this whole team, he's more of a target man, anything
01:18crosses out wide, long throw from that occasion...
01:21Goes back towards the halfway line, and Ayling, with a bit of unintentional fancy footwork,
01:27gets the ball away from Wilks, and then it goes down the touchline to Hernandez, and
01:31Hernandez back to Harrison, and it breaks kindly for Leeds, again to Hernandez, over
01:35on that far touchline, and he's trapped in a crowd, so he brings the ball out to switch
01:40things to Ayling on the right side, Ayling will try a drive, it's a deflection!
01:45And it's there! Luke Ayling opens the scoring for Leeds United, big deflection, spins the
01:51ball beyond long, and Leeds have a very early advantage in this game.
01:57Old City nil, Leeds United one.
02:00There were times on the left-hand side we were just a little bit scrappy, but we kept
02:03on fighting, winning the second ball, great switch from Pablo Hernandez, loads of space
02:08for Ayling, he's took the touch out of his feet, you think, is he going to line it up,
02:12or stand it to the back post? A little bit of a deflection, sometimes you need that little
02:17bit of luck this time here, don't you, Brin? Found the bottom corner, great start for Leeds.
02:23So inside five minutes, Leeds get the first goal of the game.
02:28And Luke Ayling on target once more.
02:30It'll definitely be his goal, despite the deflection, because it was a goal-bound shot.
02:42It was over on that far touchline again, Harrison spins away from one challenge, now to Hernandez,
02:55in space, in the penalty area! Oh, he's hit the bar!
02:58What a fine strike, and how unlucky was Pablo Hernandez there.
03:02Keeper completely beaten, and the shot crashed back off the crossbar.
03:08Oh, the word, that was superb as well, great little cutback from Harrison.
03:12It was almost like the technique he used against Middlesbrough, where the keeper made a great save,
03:16his near-hand side to the top corner.
03:21So first corner of the game, goes the way of the home team, kicking towards the
03:28mass ranks of Leeds United travelling fans.
03:31Signal given far side, in it comes, it's an outswinger.
03:35There's a slip in the box but a header goal from Pennington,
03:38and it just rolls beyond McGuinness and any other player, in white or amber,
03:43and goes behind for a goal kick.
03:45Initially I thought the corner was going to come out all the way to the edge of this box,
03:49we had two of those against Middlesbrough, almost set them off on a counter-attack.
03:54Chased by Samuelsson, and Samuelsson gets the touch in on Kelvin Phillips there,
03:58and now McGuinness sets off towards the penalty area, Hernandez slides in with a chance,
04:02it's still McGuinness, now Wilks off McGuinness, plays out to Samuelsson,
04:06Samuelsson looking for the header, McGuinness far side of the area,
04:09Leeds get bodies in, Stewart comes in with a shot,
04:11and it's dribbled wide from the foot of Kevin Stewart.
04:14Wasn't a good contact, but Leeds had too many spare bodies in the box for Leeds liking there.
04:19Hull rather, suddenly found space where they shouldn't have done.
04:24Again, been sloppy in possession.
04:26Calvin, I'm not too sure whether that knocks Boverton away as missed the last two games,
04:30but in possession, that time probably didn't help him with the pass and receive,
04:34where someone's up his backside, but he just needs to be sharper, move the ball quicker,
04:38himself move a little bit quicker.
04:42Melier has two men right in front of him, one of whom is Wilks,
04:46as the ball is played into the edge of the six-yard box,
04:48and the header, from a clear position, is straight into the hands of the French goalkeeper.
04:55Sean McLaughlin found himself in an acre there,
04:58with a little wake-up for Leeds United,
05:00as Klik carries it for the away team and gives it out to Harrison on this left-hand side.
05:04Harrison curls across in, it's beyond Bamford,
05:07and it breaks far side of the penalty area for Costa,
05:09to Hernandez!

05:13El Magico adds the second goal for Leeds United,
05:18and the fans behind the goal go mad.
05:21Leeds United have doubled their advantage,
05:24Holniel leads 2-0.
05:26Perfect start to the second half,
05:28and it came from their corner actually,
05:30free header straight into Meslier,
05:32but he threw it out nice and quick,
05:34started the counter-attack, and we were off.
05:36This time, early cross from Harrison,
05:39had bodies in the box, made its way to Costa,
05:42didn't panic, great little run from Pablo,
05:45right place, right time, great finishing to the far corner,
05:48and like I said, perfect start to the second half.
05:52So Leeds United have taken a massive amount of pressure off themselves
05:57with that very quick second-half goal.
06:00Worked from one end of the pitch to the other,
06:03and Pablo Hernandez, if there's a pocket of space to be found,
06:07he's the man to find it.
06:09In the penalty area, and he was picked out well with the pass,
06:13intelligent play from Helder Costa.
06:15Cooper along the floor to Hernandez for the free kick,
06:19back to the halfway line, and Phillips, Hernandez can't control,
06:22but Harrison's there anyway, and Harrison can have a little run maybe now,
06:25good ball infield to Klik, lovely backheel,
06:27this is great play, Costa's in the penalty area,
06:29still Costa on the left foot, oh, saved by Long,
06:32what a goal that would have been.
06:34Brilliant approach play from Leeds United,
06:36and Helder Costa forces the save from Long.
06:39Leeds attack again, ailing down the right-hand side,
06:42back infield, short ball to Stuart Dallas,
06:45Dallas chips it up into the box,
06:47Harrison's waiting, so the only option available to McKenzie
06:50is to head the ball behind for a Leeds corner, great play.
06:53Surely that'd have been a contender for goal of the season.
06:56Just the little flicks round the corner, first-time passes,
07:00and then the composure from Costa, chopped back onto his favoured left,
07:03straight at the keeper, that's when we're at our best.
07:07We're not thinking about things, just playing off the cuff.

07:16Kelvin Phillips tries to loop a long one forward, Dallas gets there,
07:19now Harrison can run at the edge of the penalty area,
07:22Jack Harrison into the box, it goes to Klik in the D,
07:25Matias Klik, curls the shot, Long saves, palms it away from goal.
07:29And he goes behind for a corner kick, and again Leeds come so close
07:33to what would surely be the killer goal.
07:37I actually thought Harrison could have taken the ball further himself.
07:41Get into the side of the box and then the whole defender's got a choice,
07:45does it go to the ball, does it back off?
07:49Corner kick is taken short to Costa, given back to Harrison,
07:52edge of the penalty area, he'll try a shot!
07:54Oh, it's hit the bar!
07:56Brilliant effort from Harrison, Long just watched it sailing towards goal,
08:01and was mighty, mighty relieved when it rattled the woodwork
08:05and Leeds within inches of a third goal, still coming,
08:10still forcing pressure, and they've won another corner kick.
08:14Like Pablo in the first half, done everything right there,
08:17Jack Harrison, Long in the net, gave it up,
08:21and no chance getting anywhere near it, so unlucky.
08:24Could easily be 4-5 this game.
08:28So Leeds have the chance perhaps to go for the jugular here in this one.
08:35Pressure on Leeds still, Stewart skips beyond Klik,
08:38plays the ball in near post, and Melier is lucky that Honeyman
08:42was arriving a fraction too late for that one,
08:44it meant the ball just bounced up into the hands of the Frenchman
08:47and not at the feet of the lad from Sunderland.
08:54And then Costa carries forward for Leeds and plays it on to Hernandez,
08:57Hernandez into the box to Stewart, Dallas can lay it back into the path,
09:00they held to Costa, edge of the penalty area, he'll shoot!
09:02And he'll shoot just wide.
09:04George Long dropped to his left-hand side but saw the ball go beyond the dive
09:08and beyond the post.
09:10Can we keep the ball in this attacking third, please?
09:17So Patrick Bamford is gonna get a rest,
09:20and Tyler Roberts is gonna go into what will surely be
09:23a straight up-and-down attacking role.
09:26And Bati interval on, the two subs linking up,
09:29and it comes back to Samuelsson, and then further back to Pennington,
09:33and then it comes out for Bati, for a cross maybe, yes.
09:36Beyond Phillips, into the penalty area, and it hits the post!
09:39And the shot was crashed goalwards, and Mellier I think was beaten,
09:45and whilst Hull think they should have a corner kick,
09:48because Honeyman's come all the way to the near side to take that corner kick,
09:52he's now gotta jog back in towards the halfway line
09:55because the ball hit the post and went behind,
09:57and no Leeds player apparently touched it.
10:00Leeds were, again, a little lucky there.
10:02Just sleeping, and to be honest it's been coming, that kind of chance for Hull.
10:06Been getting in behind a little bit,
10:08been winning the seconds in those kind of areas,
10:11hopefully that's just the wake-up call we need.

10:16It's over the heads of the central defenders at least,
10:18it's come out to Harrison on the far side of the penalty area,
10:21he's trying to get the ball back towards the penalty box,
10:23he's still going, he's done really well, Harrison will try the drive...

10:30had no right to make the space for the shot there, but he did,
10:33and he almost made it pay.
10:35It looks so dangerous when he picks the ball up on that right-hand side,
10:38putting it on his left, didn't give it up,
10:41row two free challenges, great strike.
10:45Great header from Klik to Tyler Roberts,
10:47it's 2v2 as Leeds cross the halfway line,
10:50Roberts infield, oh it's just behind Jack Harrison,
10:52but Klik's read that one really well to pick up possession again for Leeds.
10:56Now Hernandez on the, and into the penalty area,
10:58Pablo Hernandez still holds the ball, plays it into space,
11:01comes to Helder Costa!
11:03And Long palms the ball away again,
11:06while the whole goalkeeper is making a strong claim here
11:10to be his side's man of the match,
11:12because that's a string of fine saves he's had to make in the second half now.
11:18Leeds as a result get another corner kick,
11:21some terrific approach play from Leeds then,
11:23even when they lost it they had enough bodies around the ball
11:26to recycle and get it going again and almost produce another goal.
11:33Menier waits just in front of the goal line,
11:35as the ball is played at the wall now,
11:37and it breaks off the wall, now there's a chance,
11:39real chance for Leeds to counter-attack quickly,
11:41as Harrison plays the ball into Costa over the halfway line,
11:43and Harrison continues the run, he can drive at the penalty area,
11:46Jack Harrison into the box, and tries to play it into the path of Roberts,
11:51and Roberts is frustrated as the defender gets in between Roberts and Harrison,
11:55and just nudges the ball behind for a Leeds corner kick.
11:58Yet again, what a great counter-attack,
12:01as soon as we made the block at the wall,
12:03mentioned on Wednesday night,
12:05like Olympic relay sprinters, just straight out of the gun.
12:12Keeps possession, looks for support,
12:15and then he's taken off his foot and gets it back again,
12:18so three men around the man in possession,
12:20and between the trio, they get the ball back for Leeds United,
12:23excellent work, really, really good work,
12:25oh my word, great football,
12:26look at it open up for Leeds here,
12:28Roberts can play in the runner,
12:30held to Costa on the right-hand side,
12:32as Hernandez goes to the middle,
12:33still held to Costa,
12:34and he's played it to Klik, who's in the penalty area,
12:36and it comes back, oh my word,
12:39what a goal, what a goal that is from Leeds United,
12:42a terrific, terrific team goal,
12:45and Tyler Roberts is the man on the end of it,
12:47and Tyler Roberts finishes, and the game finishes,
12:51and Leeds United are gonna win it,

12:55Three goals, three words, what a goal,
12:59superb, the way they worked it down in this corner,
13:03the ability, the awareness to find each other,
13:06but then to have the composure to finish it off,
13:08Tyler Roberts, right place, right time,
13:11no messing about, put your foot through it,
13:13find back of the net, three points.
13:17Do you know what, he's done well, Tyler Roberts,
13:19since he came on, hasn't he?
13:20He's done superb, he's one of those players, Tyler,
13:22where he's intelligent, he finds those pockets and spaces,
13:25I think his best position is that number 10,
13:28but he can do such a good job as the number nine,
13:30as I say, he's intelligent,
13:32centre-halves don't know whether to go tight with him,
13:34if they do, he can spin him behind,
13:36but I like the way he gets into the box as well,
13:38he's clinical when he's there.
13:41So, Leeds United are on course for another victory here,
13:47with a short ride, a short happy ride home,
13:51to come in the next few minutes.
13:56And they've centred it again,
13:57because they've been presented with possession
13:59on the halfway line and Hull have gone here,
14:01they're on the ropes as the ball comes into the box,
14:04and there's a header!
14:05What a finish from Tyler Roberts!
14:09A diving header across the goalkeeper,
14:12into the top corner of the net,
14:14and this is now a rout.

14:20You can see the boys reacting there in the celebration,
14:23they're enjoying it, we're loving it,
14:25just a little intelligent movement yet again from Tyler Roberts,
14:29just peels off on a centre-half,
14:31great little clip-ball delivery,
14:33and let me tell you, it made the header look easy,
14:36it wasn't, just use the pace on the ball to go back across the keeper,
14:40you mentioned the five, we're only one behind it now.
14:43Well, it was a four-aggregate win, wasn't it?
14:46So, match that one, Brentford winning on away goals.
14:49So, a terrific introduction to the game for Tyler Roberts,
14:54not exactly super sub because the game was well on its way
14:57to being won before he arrived,
14:59but boy, has he added some icing to the top
15:02of this particularly sweet cake.
15:06So, Hull City, well, they just want to get off, don't they, the Hull players?
15:10There are five minutes to go of normal time,
15:13and if the referee's being kind, he'll call it right on the 90th minute here,
15:17because if it were boxing, the towel would have long since come in.
15:21They've enjoyed their hour or so up the M62,
15:25and there is that huge roar as the final whistle sounds.
15:29It's a big, big win for Leeds in every sense this afternoon here at Hull.
15:36Four goals to the good, and three massive, massive points
15:40as Leeds chase promotion.
15:42It's been a fantastic second-half performance,
15:46and Leeds have been an absolute joy to watch.

16:02We said it earlier, some of the stuff in the final third,
16:05some of the play, were absolutely superb.
16:07The one-touch play, the movement.
16:09Stroker genius, we mentioned Stuart Dallas going into that central midfield kind of role,
16:14all he did was free up an extra body in there, Hull couldn't quite deal with that.
16:18At 2-0, yes, it was sometimes a little bit nervy, we were a little bit sloppy,
16:23but halfway through that second half, we just went through the gears,
16:26they couldn't keep up with us at all.
16:29And you have to say, 4-0, could have been 6-7 quite easily,
16:33Long made some great saves to keep him in it, hit the woodwork twice,
16:36and I'm delighted for Tyler Roberts to come on,
16:39after all his injury woes this season, to get two goals,
16:42that'll do him a world of good.
