Refugees, Alert: Fake Solidarity Ruse

Despite a decade of persistent correspondences and efforts to acquire aid from ‘SolidarityNow’, my quest saw one futile visit after another. On December 28th, 2023, my visit underscored a decade of neglect and systemic evasion. Despite their ostensible commitment to supporting refugees, my attempts to engage with staff were met with dismissive behavior, culminating in the discovery of deliberate deletion of my communications.

My attempt to lodge a formal complaint was then undermined by unprovoked aggression and eventual involvement of the police, who expedited the process without allowing me to obtain a confirmed duplicate from the staff members and resorted to xenophobic and disparaging communication as they escorted me off the premises, threateningly remarking, “Leave our country now and don’t come back here.” This behavior mirrored the broader institutional ethos to subdue and silence refugee voices through fear and manipulation.

My follow-up attempts on April 05th, 2024, faced significant resistance, with staff devising diversions, dodging questions, withholding their headquarters’ address, threatening police involvement, and even using force to confine me. Subsequent visits on April 12th were met with locked offices and blocked communications. This pattern of avoidance and neglect, exploiting systemic frameworks, highlights an insidious campaign against refugees in Greece, denying them basic human rights.
