00:00We're here this morning for a number of production constables who have recently graduated from the New South Wales Police Academy
00:07and joined the New South Wales Police Force in the Central West Police District.
00:11These young constables will start across the entire Central West District.
00:16We have one starting here at Orange, one at Parks and one at Forks.
00:21They'll join the crew that are currently on the ground, keeping the community safe, preventing crime and looking after the community.
00:29I've come from Parramatta, Sydney.
00:32And did you want to work in the Central West or did you just get brought here?
00:35Yeah, Orange was one of my picks. I'm glad I got it. It's a lovely town.
00:40Excellent. And how has the process been to get here?
00:43It's obviously been a long journey, a lot of training. Do you want to just talk about that a little bit?
00:48Yeah, it's tough. I'm sure a lot of people can agree with me.
00:53It's been a long few months, but I think the incentives that came in definitely helped.
00:59Yeah.
01:00Do you think that incentive to be paid for training really does make a difference for someone that has had to do the course and everything?
01:08Absolutely. It takes a big weight off your shoulders.
01:11It allows you to really focus on what's at hand, the training and getting through.
