Harry Kane believes below-par England are tackling Euro 2024 like a boxer in the first couple of rounds

00:20Don't play yourself out at the tournament.

00:26Of course, I know I come off in the second game,

00:28but that was down to the manager wanting to see different

00:31and maybe freshen up the front players especially.

00:35From my point of view, I'm fit.

00:37I'm getting better and better each game, and fitter each game.

00:46If I'm honest with myself, have I played the best that I know I can?

00:50No, but I didn't score in the group stage in the World Cup.

00:53I didn't score in the group stage in the Euros.

00:56So from my point of view, it's a bonus to be one goal ahead.

01:05It's not digging anyone out, but it's just the reality that they do know

01:08that it's tough to play in these major tournaments and tough to play for England.

01:12But I'd never disrespect any ex-player.

01:15All I'd say is just remember what it was like to wear the shirt

01:19and let their words listen to it.

01:26I feel like I've got a good relationship with all those players.

01:35But I think especially in past tournaments, in qualifying,

01:39we've shown what we can do when we're all on the same page.

01:49We had seven hours with the family,

01:51which I'm not sure all the lads were quite happy about.

01:53After a few hours, it was pretty hectic to be fair.

01:58So we might cut that down in the future.

02:06I know 99% of the fans are fully behind us and fully with us

02:10just to support us, as they always do.

02:12And I know they will.
