00:03This is what President Bambang Marcos said

00:05when he visited Palawan earlier.

00:08In the middle of our issue of defending our territory,

00:11the President also said that we will not be beaten and we will not be slaughtered.

00:22P. I. Vanni, the Philippines does not want war,

00:26but we will not be slaughtered.

00:27This is what the President said to the soldiers.

00:29The China Coast Guard was harassed in Ayungin, Seoul on June 17.

00:40President Bambang Marcos made the Order of Lapu-Lapu

00:43in which Seaman 1st Class Underwater Operator Jeffrey Facundo is in charge.

00:48Facundo was the one who was cut off by the Chinese Coast Guard.

00:52The Rotation and Resupply Mission, or RORES, was in Ayungin, Seoul on June 17.

00:57It is in the AFP Western Command in Palawan by the President to visit the soldiers

01:01for a week after the invasion of China and the Philippines.

01:05Before this, Facundo's family and personnel had a chance to talk to the President.

01:11The President also talked to the Order of Lapu-Lapu personnel and staff

01:15that there are 78 other soldiers from the Philippine Navy and Marines

01:20who were assigned to the Rotation and Resupply Mission in Ayungin, Seoul on Monday.

01:25The President was accompanied by Defense Secretary Gilberto De Toro

01:28and AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Browner Jr.

01:31At the stage, the video of the soldiers watching from BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin, Seoul was released.

01:38The President praised the courage of the Filipino soldiers

01:41in the face of the violent actions of the China Coast Guard.

01:50On June 17, the China Coast Guard shouted

01:53while firing at the Filipino soldiers.

01:58The Philippine Navy's boats were robbed.

02:02I have never been prouder of the brave women, men, and not just the Western Command

02:09but the entire Armed Forces as I am today.

02:12On June 17, we made a conscious and deliberate choice to remain in the path of peace.

02:20In front of the President and the soldiers here at the AFP Western Command,

02:24he said that the Philippines is a responsible country

02:27and that it will not use violence or intimidation to hurt its fellow Filipinos.

02:32The President said that the Philippines is not at war.

02:35The government wants to give peace and prosperity to every Filipino.

02:41But this is not equivalent to weakness.

02:44The Philippines will continue to fight.

02:47According to the President, maintaining peace is not equivalent to acceptance of what is happening.

02:54We will never be beaten or humiliated, no matter who we are.

03:00The Filipino soldiers showed that the Filipino spirit is brave, determined, and compassionate.

03:07The President assured that the country is behind them and their families.

03:11The Philippines does not choose violence even though the President did not mention any country.

03:20Aside from the medals, according to Malacanang, the President also gave financial assistance to the soldiers.
