00:00People talking in background.
00:07Crowd noise.
00:29If you're up for a party tonight, make some noise.
00:32That's good, I'm assuming you're going to have some fun this evening.
00:37Now, I know it's a tense time for many of you in the room.
00:40We've got more than 40 brilliant businesses shortlisted for our awards tonight
00:44and they're just thinking, come on, just get on with it.
00:46So, I'll do my best, but I've got some things I need to tell you about first.
00:50If you're one of those companies up for an award tonight, give us a cheer.
00:54This is the 24th year of these fantastic awards.
01:02Tonight, you're going to be meeting in three of the county's business communities.
01:06We build up at the end of the night to crowning the 2024 Shropshire Company of the Year.
01:11Good evening, everyone, and a very warm welcome from everyone at Shropshire Chamber
01:17to the 24th year of these fantastic awards.
01:21Kerry, our events manager, hand-pitched that warm-up music for me because of its title.
01:28It's called, Won't Forget You, and I'm sincerely hoping that's true.
01:33We want the Chamber and tonight's event to be truly memorable.
01:38So, Ruth, you've just presented the award to Elizabeth here.
01:42Elizabeth Wilkinson, MBE, you've earned it, so that's it.
01:45How does it feel? You didn't know you were getting it, did you?
01:47I had no idea.
01:49I'm still in shock, and I have to know how Kelda felt last year when they did the same to her.
01:54So now you realise it's quite daunting, I would imagine, to get up on that stage.
01:58It's shocking.
02:00She didn't know, so I had no idea.
02:03You two know each other?
02:05Yeah.
02:06Yeah, I gathered that.
02:08So you're pleased for her, then, Ruth?
02:10She came for your awards, isn't it?
02:13Yeah, you seem very pleased for her, which is nice, you know what I mean?
02:17So, Elizabeth, you've been given work for your work in dyslexia.
02:22Dyslexia, yeah. Working with adult dyslexics, but not just that.
02:26It's, well, I'm beginning to learn it's everything else that I do as well.
02:30Yeah, yeah. Well, well done. Enjoy your night, then.
02:32Thank you.
02:33Thank you, ladies.
02:34Well done.
02:38Excellent.
02:39So, what have we got next?
02:40We have a line. Is it higher than the line?
02:43Which one of you are ready to go?
02:46AI Stallion, based at Whitchurch.
02:48Stallion AI.
02:49Stallion AI. I knew that. Tested.
02:51Stallion AI, based at Whitchurch.
02:53You've won the biggie.
02:55We've won the big award tonight, yes.
02:57I'll tell you, it is a big award. It's heavy, isn't it?
02:59It's heavy as well, yeah.
03:00You don't want to drop this on your toe.
03:01I know, too, right.
03:02So, how do you feel, then, guys?
03:03Did you, you know, did you think, yeah, we're in with a chance?
03:07Well, I don't know. We're happy.
03:09We all hope, because we think we've got something really special with Stallion AI,
03:13in terms of what we're doing.
03:14We're really doing cutting-edge technology, but you just never know.
03:17You just never know.
03:18Yeah, we know what we do, and we do make a difference,
03:20but you just hope that that comes across,
03:22and that we've been able to pass that message on
03:25in a way that everybody else understands it,
03:27and it looks like we actually do it.
03:29And it is what it says on the tin, isn't it, really?
03:32You're using the latest technology, and protecting species, and yeah.
03:38We're doing that across to protect species from going extinct.
03:40That's a great, great work.
03:41Yeah.
03:42All happening in little old Whitchurch, isn't it?
03:44Yeah, we've got 240 different species frozen down,
03:47all in there, alongside the horses.
03:49Fantastic work, guys.
03:50It really is, yeah.
03:51So, how do you celebrate now?
03:52Hit the dance floor?
03:54Hit the dance floor, get a few drinks, a few more drinks,
03:56a few sore heads in the morning.
03:58Your bar bill's going to be terrible by the end of tonight, sir.
04:00Always is.
04:28Thank you.
