00:00I'm looking forward to perform on some bigger venues.
00:08Hey, this is ITZY and this is Billboard News.
00:23Hey, it's Tetris with Billboard News hanging out with the ladies of ITZY. How are you?
00:27Hi, great.
00:29Well, everybody doesn't get to come to Billboard News twice, so you're really special.
00:32Really?
00:33And you're here for your North American tour, so how's it been?
00:36Yes, we just did LA concert yesterday. The energy and the vibe was so great.
00:44Well, LA tries to bring the good energy, so I'm going to give us credit on that.
00:47But you've been to a lot of places, South America, North America, Europe.
00:50So what's been some of your favorite cities to visit so far?
00:53We can't pick a city because all the cities have their own vibe and they're also welcoming us so warmly.
01:03So I can't really choose one. All the cities were the best.
01:07Well, you talk about every city having their own vibe, so talk to me about culturally, how it is to go to cities.
01:13Do you guys get to experience the food and really check out where you're going?
01:17Yesterday I ate In-N-Out burger.
01:20Yeah, it was so delicious.
01:22Nice. I mean, that's California culture all the way.
01:25And also, like two days ago before the concert, Yuna and I go to the Venice Beach.
01:32And also we go to Santa Monica and we have taco there.
01:37It was so cool.
01:39Okay, so now I got to ask you, what was your favorite beach out of Venice and Santa Monica?
01:42Wow.
01:43They're so different.
01:44Yeah, it is. It's really close, but it's different.
01:46Yeah.
01:47That was really amazing, but I have very many memories in Venice Beach, so I'll pick Venice.
01:55Okay, and it's also Muscle Beach, so next time I go there, I should see you working out.
01:59Great.
02:06Checking out you guys at your show, what I really noticed was that you guys use the live band a lot,
02:11which seemed really cool and gave you guys different renditions of your songs.
02:15So how was it to work with a live band on this tour?
02:17It's amazing. They make richer sounds. Really good.
02:24Yeah, it really makes heart pound.
02:27Yeah, and more excited.
02:29Yeah.
02:30And do you think the fans have been more excited?
02:32Yeah, I think so too. They really like it.
02:35And then you guys also are performing your solo tracks out there on tour.
02:39So talk to me about performing your solo songs, and you guys wrote a lot of it too.
02:42So how was it to perform these songs that you wrote yourselves?
02:45Very honored and really good experience for me, and then so special for me.
02:55And actually, it was our first solo track, so it's really like a lot of means to us.
03:06Our MIDZY, our fans, MIDZY loves our solo stage.
03:11And they can enjoy the different vibe of each member.
03:18So that's a key point of this concert.
03:22And then you have to tell me, so when one of the other members is on stage doing their solo set,
03:26what are the rest of you doing?
03:28Are you taking a nap? Are you watching on the screen?
03:31What's happening backstage?
03:34Change the clothes.
03:35Yeah, very busy.
03:39And when we started the concert, the show, then we just like, come on, come on.
03:46ITZY, MIDZY, let's fly, like this on the backstage.
03:50And I'm doing it second in the solo song, like stage play set list.
03:58So I change my clothes when Chaeryeong is doing, she's first.
04:03And I do my stage, and I change my clothes when Yuna's doing.
04:07And then I came out to see the Yeji's stage.
04:12So busy, so much going on.
04:14The life of a pop star.
04:16And then also you guys told Billboard last time that you were practicing a lot more on your English before you came here for this tour.
04:28So how has that been, and do you feel more connected being able to talk to your fans at the show?
04:33Every day I do my best.
04:36Yeah.
04:37She tries her best, and every member does.
04:41I think a little bit more grown up.
04:46I think.
04:47Yes, I think you guys have been killing it.
04:49She improved.
04:50Thank you.
04:52And then what are your essentials that you need? What are some things that while you're on tour you have to have?
04:59Pillow.
05:01That's important.
05:03Because every hotel has different pillows.
05:06So you have your own that you bring?
05:07Yes.
05:08Me too.
05:09All of us.
05:10Everybody.
05:12Okay, after the interview you have to tell me the good one, so I can get one, okay?
05:16I recommend you.
05:17If you have a neck problem, I'll recommend you.
05:20Okay, we'll work on that.
05:22And then now that the tour is wrapping up, what is something that you guys feel like you've learned that's different this time around?
05:28For me, I feel like more close to each other.
05:35Because it's a very special experience for us.
05:39So lots of city, and then we spend time with each other a lot.
05:45And we ate something new thing together.
05:50And we saw the new view together.
05:55That's like very, lots of meaning for me.
05:59Close to each other.
06:01And for me, if the last Checkmate tour was like learning, and this tour was using it.
06:10What we learned from Checkmate tour.
06:13So we really enjoyed it.
06:15You're more confident this time around.
06:17Totally.
06:18Very different with last concert.
06:20So it was very fun to have that energy with each other, with our fans.
06:29And the fans love it too.
06:30They give you guys so much energy.
06:32And then now that all that energy has been put out, what happens after the tour?
06:35Are you guys excited to rest?
06:37What are you most excited to do after it's all over?
06:40Actually, we always prepare next step.
06:44Oh, she's like, she's ready to go back to work.
06:46Yeah.
06:48Our leader.
06:49Yeah.
06:50Yay.
06:51Leader.
06:58And when you're thinking about your next step, who has been inspiring you lately?
07:02During the concert, I get inspired a lot.
07:06Because very like different person and different culture.
07:12Yeah.
07:14That gives a lot inspiration.
07:20Yes.
07:21That's something I always actually wonder about at concerts.
07:24Like, how much can you see the people?
07:27Like, we're watching you, but can you see us?
07:30Like, do you see people's facial expressions and what they're doing?
07:33I'm not really sure.
07:34It depends on the light.
07:36When it's so bright, I can't see them.
07:39But it gets lower, I can see like third floor people putting a heart for me.
07:44Oh my goodness.
07:46And the panel.
07:47Yeah.
07:48The banner.
07:50The banner.
07:51That's so cool.
07:52So you hear that, Mitzy.
07:53They can see you.
07:55And then tell me about like, you know, the next steps.
07:58And when you come thinking about like your next album or your next tour,
08:01what are you most excited to do?
08:03Is it recording in the studio?
08:04Is it dancing?
08:05Choreography?
08:06Like, what part makes you the most happy?
08:09When we get the choreography draft for the first time,
08:12that's when I get the most excited.
08:14The song, the performance,
08:16when something new comes to us,
08:19that's when my heart beats the most.
08:22For me, not really greedy, but because this concert,
08:27comparing to last concert, venue got bigger.
08:30So I'm looking forward to perform.
08:35Some bigger venue.
08:38It's okay.
08:40She wants to see to the sixth, seventh level.
08:43You know, that's where we're going to be looking next time.
08:51And then also, let's talk about music.
08:53So you guys recently put out Algorithm and No Biggie in Japanese.
08:57So how were those releases and how exciting was it to put out new music?
09:07Yeah, I'm sure the fans really appreciate it,
09:13switching it up a little bit, you know?
09:15And then how are you guys going to switch it up
09:17when it comes to the next album?
09:18Like, what are you thinking about the sound?
09:20You got to tease something, you got to.
09:22This is...
09:23We really want to give a spoiler,
09:25but nothing is completely done.
09:29So...
09:30This is top secret.
09:32Top secret.
09:33Locked, double, everything closed.
09:37And also, there is nothing to tell you right now.
09:42We're so sorry.
09:43I'm so sorry about that.
09:45I just know the Mitzies are excited,
09:47so I have to do my job and see what I can get out of you.
09:50You know, but I have seen you guys been having a lot of fun online as well,
09:53doing dancing and TikToks and everything like that.
09:56So how fun has it been to kind of show your personalities on social media?
10:00I think that social media is very good content
10:04to show the video of us very shortly,
10:08but fans really miss us a lot.
10:11So there is not many contents that we can show them,
10:14but the social media is so good method to bring that to fans.
10:19So I think I'm using it as that way really well.
10:23And I think fans are really satisfied at that.
10:26They do love it.
10:27And then you guys even work with like aespa, ATEEZ.
10:30I love ATEEZ so much.
10:32I do, I love them.
10:33Really?
10:34Yeah, so tell me about like how it is to have their support
10:36and like do these TikToks together.
10:45Since we're a friend doing the...
10:48Actually, the challenge is a little bit work, as you know.
10:52So it's really new.
10:55Very awkward to each other and very fun.
10:58Super fun.
10:59Yeah.
11:00And I mean, considering that you guys are friends with aespa
11:02and everything like that,
11:03how does it feel when you see fans online?
11:05Do you think about when they like compare the groups
11:07or compare you guys together and stuff like that?
11:09I think, first of all, it's very thankful situation
11:14that every K-pop groups are so famous.
11:17And I just wish that K-pop industry could get more bigger
11:22and more famous all together.
11:24Yes, well, we're trying.
11:25We're all working together as you guys all deserve it.
11:28Thank you.
11:29Of course, of course, of course.
11:30And then you guys also talked to Billboard about mental health,
11:33which I thought was really beautiful.
11:34So tell me why that was important to speak about
11:37and how you help your fans work on their mental health.
11:53That's beautiful.
11:54You guys love each other and then give that love back
11:57to your Mittsie's.
11:58Yeah.
11:59We love New York!
12:02We do love New York!
12:05That's beautiful.
12:06You guys love each other, and then give that love back to your midsies.
12:10Yeah.
12:11We love New York!
12:12Name one thing, if you can, that you have personally that can automatically change you
12:16to be in a better mood.
12:17For me, sweets.
12:18Oh.
12:19Sweets makes me like a better person.
12:20Oh.
12:21Oh.
12:22Oh.
12:23Oh.
12:24Oh.
12:25Oh.
12:26Oh.
12:27Oh.
12:28Oh.
12:29Oh.
12:30Oh.
12:31Oh.
12:32Oh.
12:33Oh.
12:34Oh.
12:35Oh.
12:36Oh.
12:37Oh.
12:38Oh.
12:39Makes me like smile.
12:40For me, soda.
12:41Oh.
12:42Oh.
12:43Yeah.
12:44I really love drink or soda.
12:45Yes, soft drinks.
12:46Yeah.

12:51You're addicted to it?
12:52Definitely.
12:53Is it the games?
12:54I'm really crazy with dramas and the movies and all the series, so my iPad...
13:01Yeah.
13:02Is my happy place.
13:03my happy button for me.
13:05I love that.
13:11And then last but not least,
13:12tell me something that is a personal goal
13:15for you in the future.
13:34That's beautiful.
13:35For me, happy, but I think happy needs
13:40like mental and physically health
13:43and also enough money.
13:46There we go.
13:48So, that's my goal, to having enough,
13:52the health and okay.
13:54I'm gonna wish that for both of us, okay?
13:57That's great.
13:57And then what about you?
