00:11I spent the whole day yesterday with Prime Minister Chen, and again this morning, this afternoon, joining me for lunch.
00:18Contrary to the barrage of questions and narrative from the others,
00:25I sense the attitude of the Chinese leadership.
00:30Friendly, courteous, full of respect, understanding of cultures and differences.
00:37And this is not what is being portrayed elsewhere.
00:40I've given them assurances based on historical recidivism from the time of the emperors in China and the sultans in Malacca.
01:02They did not convince them.
01:04But I think this visit by Prime Minister Chen, my esteemed friend, who I greatly respect, has proven it.
01:13We have hours of discussions.
01:15Nothing seems to be arrogant, condescending, or ultimatum.
01:22Yes, there are issues. Some, no contentious.
01:27But we discuss as equal partners, as trusted friends.
01:32People say, well, Malaysia is a growing economy. Don't let China abuse its privilege and extort from the country.
01:42I say, no. To the contrary, we want to benefit from one another.
01:47We want to learn from one another, and we want to profit from this engagement.
01:52Because only through this process, we can help our people, both Malaysia and China.
02:00So pardon me for departing from my original reference to trade and economics and business.
02:08Because I rarely have the opportunity to address from such a prominent leader of China and the presence of many of our colleagues in the business community,
