00:00I can't help but have to ask you about Willie Mays growing up in the Bay Area.
00:08You being a San Francisco sports fan, the Say Hey Kid passes away at age 93.
00:16How big of a fan?
00:17What are your thoughts on Willie Mays' passing?
00:20Well, he was pretty big in my household, Gabe.
00:24You know, it immediately made me think of my mother who passed away a few years ago
00:28who was, you know, he was her favorite player.
00:32And the guy just had such a grace and his big smile.
00:36And not only a grace as a person, but obviously as an athlete, just glided through the center
00:40field area there.
00:42I mean, the accolades you can just pile on here forever.
00:45But he, you know, growing up, I mean, gosh, basically by the time I was alive and saw
00:52Willie Mays, he was a Met at that point, you know, in the early 70s.
00:58So I didn't really get to see the guy play, but he was always the big dog in our household
01:03as far as the Giants went.
01:05And it was a long time.
01:07I mean, the Giants didn't win a World Series until 2010.
01:11I think it was 53 years or something like that in San Francisco before they won a championship.
01:17So we didn't have a lot to celebrate.
01:19So Willie Mays was the guy to celebrate for a long, long time in our household.
