PAGASA: ‘Habagat’ to bring rain showers over parts of Luzon, Visayas

Some parts of Luzon and Western Visayas may experience rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon or “habagat,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday, June 18.

00:06in the western sections of Southern Luzon and Cabecean.
00:10Although, if we can see here in the image, the clouds are getting thinner here in Sulu Sea.
00:15Although, we expect today or this morning that the weather will be rainy,
00:19particularly here in the northern part of Southern Luzon and also in the western sections of Central Luzon area.
00:26So, here in Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and also in Palawan,
00:30we expect a high chance of rain in the afternoon.
00:34Meanwhile, in the northern part of our country,
00:37the isolated thunderstorms are still continuing.
00:40So, we have a high chance of experiencing isolated thunderstorms.
00:43But when the afternoon comes, we expect that the weather will still be hot.
00:48And for now, we are not being watched by low-pressure area or typhoons
00:52inside and outside of our Philippine area of responsibility.
00:55So, in the coming days, this high temperature will continue to affect a large part of our country.
01:02Until the coming weekend, there is a high possibility of experiencing rainy weather,
01:07especially here in the northern part of Visayas, in the western Visayas,
01:12and also in Zamboanga Peninsula and some parts of Southern Luzon.
01:18So, the weather will be bad here in Luzon today
01:21because of the continuous effect of the southwest monsoon.
01:24The weather will be particularly rainy, as we mentioned earlier,
01:27in Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro.
01:31Meanwhile, in the northern part of Luzon,
01:34there is still a high chance of experiencing isolated thunderstorms.
01:38When the afternoon comes, the weather will still be hot
01:41and we will most likely experience isolated thunderstorms
01:45in the afternoon, night, or possibly until the early morning.
01:50In terms of temperature, the weather will be hot,
01:53especially here in Togigrao, where the maximum temperature will reach 35°C.
01:58The maximum temperature for Lawag will range from 26°C to 33°C,

02:06the maximum temperature for Legazpi will reach 33°C,
02:10while the maximum temperature for Metro Manila and Tagaytay will reach 32°C.
