00:00He had a great game in the W and a personal rivalry between
00:06Kaitlin Clark and Angel Reese that dates back to their time
00:10in college hoops. Now in the WNBA between the Indiana Fever
00:15and the Chicago Sky. Two matchups between the Sky and
00:18Fever this year, both in Indianapolis and both go to the
00:22home team. The Fever victorious 91-83 out doing the Sky down
00:27the stretch winning and covering as a two and a half
00:30point home favorite. Donnie, Indiana struggled to start this
00:34year. There is no doubt there have been calls for Christie
00:37Sides, the head coach of the Fever to be better for this
00:40organization that has supreme talent, Kaitlin Clark and Aaliyah
00:44Boston, but Indiana's won four of its last six after a grueling
00:48start to this season. Their first time this year, the Fever
00:52with the win yesterday over Chicago winning back-to-back
00:55games this season. Yeah. No, that's a good start for them
00:59and also, you know what's important about this because it
01:01may be rightfully so some people not watching the WNBA.
01:05Oh my goodness. You had the number one pick last year. Leah
01:07Boston gave the number one pick this year with Kaitlin Clark.
01:09This team should be markedly better, which I don't know if
01:11that meant we have to be winning. We have to be in the
01:13top four in the NBA standings or maybe at the front of the
01:16line, but the one thing I do know is coaches can lose teams
01:20quickly here specifically on that big stage because if you
01:23are the Fever, of course, as an organization, you love the
01:25back-to-back number one picks. As a coach, you love it as well,
01:28but you know what comes with that? An unbelievable amount of
01:31pressure right out of the gate and you saw them crumble just a
01:34few games ago where they got hammered. They got their guys
01:36benched and she's basically saying, look, I can't play these
01:39guys knowing that they're not giving their full effort.
01:41That's why I had to shut them down right away like, oh no,
01:44this team doesn't believe in the coach. They're not playing
01:46for him and when you have a superstar like Kaitlin Clark,
01:49who's going to consistently be on national TV, you know the
01:51ownership group of the Fever are paying attention to that
01:54as well. But after that meltdown, having a couple good
01:56performances, including picking up some wins and now if the
01:59season ended today, Ben, the Fever would be in the playoffs.
02:02I love that. That's a time to respect that this team is
02:05listening to the coaching staff. They are in the top eight
02:09right now, despite being five and ten again last year in the
02:12twelve-team WNBA. Four teams made the postseason with a
02:16winning record. Four made it with a losing record. Indiana
02:20right now in spot number eight. Kaitlin Clark sensational
02:24yesterday. Twenty-three points, nine assists, eight rebounds, a
02:28couple of huge plays on the defensive end as well and Angel
02:32Reese and a rookie teammate, Camila Cardoso sensational,
02:35both a double double with at least ten points and ten boards
02:39historic in the number one overall pick two years ago,
02:43Aaliyah Boston, nineteen points and fourteen rebounds. She is
02:46starting to find her footing this year as well. That duo of
02:49Kaitlin Clark and Aaliyah Boston sensational for Indiana
02:53in this last week and there will be a ton of conversation. I
02:57assume about the flagrant one foul Angel Reese committed on
03:00Kaitlin Clark going for the block knocking Kaitlin rather
03:04hard in her head that Kaitlin Clark herself said afterward
03:09was a basketball play and it was move on with so much
03:14discourse this season in the W outside of the actual
03:17basketball in the play on the floor focus on the great
03:20performance in a great game down the stretch yesterday in
03:23Indianapolis.
