00:00Hello everyone, welcome to Mediain TV, here is your Maghreb Press Review.
00:10And we start this tour of the Maghreb with the prosperous trade relations between Morocco and Spain, which is exploring new horizons as an economist.
00:18During the previous year, Spanish exports to Morocco exceeded 12 billion euros, marking a 3% increase.
00:25Compared to 2022, this increase places Morocco as the eighth client of Spain, absorbing 3.2% of the total of Spanish exports,
00:33which makes it the third most important non-European market for Spain, after the United States and the United Kingdom, explains Le Quotidien, specializing in its special edition Eid al-Adha.
00:42Despite everything, global Spanish exports fell by 9% in the first quarter of 2024, but only 6.4% for exports to Morocco.
00:51In the opposite direction, Spanish imports from the Kingdom continued to grow, reaching 9 billion euros in 2023, a 4% increase compared to 2022.
01:01For the first quarter of 2024, they increased by 4%, reaching 2.492 billion euros.
01:08By focusing on diversification, Morocco could not only stabilize its export revenues, but also stimulate innovation and economic growth in various sectors, concludes the economist in these columns.
01:21The Kingdom ranks among the top 10 beneficiaries of international public financial flows, according to a report on the Sustainable Development Goals, states Le 360 this morning.
01:31In this new edition, published by several global institutions, such as the International Energy Agency, the World Bank or the World Health Organization,
01:39this report confirms the commitment taken by the Kingdom to sustainable development and major international funding that it can bring to the future.
01:47Morocco ranks 9th in the ranking of the beneficiaries of international public financial flows in favor of renewable energies,
01:53with 5.6 billion dollars during the period 2010-2022, being second in the MENA region, grouping the Middle East and North Africa,
02:02outstripping Egypt, but still far from the Indian leader, which received a total of 15.6 billion dollars.
02:09The Moroccan media states that the energy efficiency improvement rates are gradually recovering in a vigorous manner,
02:16after the decline observed following the COVID-19 pandemic, even if these advances are not enough to guarantee the achievement of the targets set by the Sustainable Development Goals,
02:25adopted by the United Nations in 2015, to guarantee by 2030 everyone's access to reliable, sustainable and modern energy services at an affordable cost.
02:37In Casablanca, a new five-year convention was signed by the City Council for the support of competitive sport in the municipality, titled Media24.
02:46For a period of five years, this convention sets the conditions and modalities, organizing the partnership between 27 Moroccan royal federations of various disciplines,
02:56alongside the Ministry of National Education, Pre-School and Sports.
03:00Among the obligations of the City Council, there is an annual financial support set at 13 million dirhams last year, 15 million for the year in progress, and an annual check of 20 million from 2025.
03:13A new agreement that supports the important turn that the Municipal Council of Casablanca is taking in its desire to democratize sports practice for all.
03:20This is evidenced by the welcome in the economic capital of the second summit of education by Sport in Africa, organized at the end of May,
03:27and the 30 million dirhams project for the city of sports, planned for the end of 2025, on the Delphi-Mors-Sultan side,
03:33which also confirms the policy of modernization of sports infrastructure for the years to come.
03:41The Algerian Interprofessional Cereal Office has launched a call to import more wheat in 2024, according to Matin d'Algerie.
03:48If the harvest of tender Algerian wheat is still in progress, the information portal indicates that it does not meet the needs of the country.
03:55In total, more than 3 million tons of Algerian wheat are expected, while the needs of Algerian wheat rise to more than 11 million tons,
04:02figures published in the Conjunctive Note of France-Agrimères on the world cereal markets.
04:08Algeria should therefore increase the share of its imports of hard wheat and tender wheat on the 2023-2024 purchase campaign,
04:15i.e. an increase of 11% for tender wheat and 8% for hard wheat,
04:19which removes the country from the self-sufficiency it wants to have in terms of cereal consumption,
04:24with its fifth place in the ranking of the largest importers of tender wheat on the campaign in progress.
