00:19a street party was held to celebrate Father's Day here in Taiwan

00:28which was held on the 126th Joint Philippine Independence Day and Migrant Workers' Day Celebration 2024 here in Taipei.

00:37To celebrate Father's Day, OFWs from different parts of Taiwan performed a total performance in a dance competition.

00:49The group of these Filipinos is Violet Wig, the team for their psychedelic disco performance.

01:00The grand entrance of this OFW duo is for gymnastics.

01:08The sexy but funny dance choreography of this group was performed by Madlang Pipol in Taiwan.

01:19In the basketball league, the fathers of OFWs in Taiwan performed for their family in the Philippines.

01:28Their muses were women who sampled TikTok moves.

01:38OFW Joffel is lucky to be here in Taiwan with his wife and two children.

01:46Like many OFWs, Joffel's youngest child, Jabari Payus, will be the last one to see him.

01:54I'm happy. I haven't seen my family for almost four years. I'm happy to be with my family.

02:02But for the fathers who are far from their families, it's enough to greet them with Happy Father's Day.

02:10It's hard to celebrate Father's Day when you're not with your family because they're far away.

02:17But it's okay because while I'm working abroad, I'll be able to provide their needs in the Philippines.

02:26As well as Asia's Limitless star, Julian San Jose, who is a special guest performer.

02:32It's the first time in Taiwan that OFWs will be able to perform in front of their families.

02:57According to MECO, there are about 154,000 OFWs in Taiwan,

03:04most of whom are factory workers in semiconductor companies.

03:08It is expected that this number will increase according to MECO.

03:13Aside from the demand from factory workers, Taiwan needs more workers

03:19from different skills and professions.

03:22We also have teachers, but most of them are limited in the Taiwan universities.

03:30We also have fishermen.

03:32In fact, some of the big fishermen here have requested me to talk to their government

03:39that they should be allowed a bigger quota.
