00:00Mr. Speaker, last week, President Biden stated that the border should not be a political
00:07issue to be weaponized.
00:09I agree that Americans don't have time for games in Washington, but I think the President
00:13should take his own advice.
00:15Since day one of his presidency, President Biden has been laser-focused on rolling back
00:19President Trump's policies that were effective in lowering illegal immigration.
00:23As a result, we have had nearly 12 million illegal encounters at our border since January
00:27of 2021, with this past April being the 38th straight month that encounters on the border
00:32have been higher than even the highest month under President Trump.
00:37For three years, House Republicans have passed good legislation that would actually secure
00:41the southern border and have urged President Biden to work with us on the border crisis,
00:46and we've been met with silence.
00:48President Biden, wake up.
00:51Just this week, CBP and FBI arrested eight men with ISIS ties in New York, LA, and Philadelphia
00:57who all entered the country through Biden's wide-open southern border.
01:00We can't keep pretending this is normal.
01:03We need to secure our border now.
01:05Thank you, and with that, I yield back.
