00:00There's rarely a person you talk to that hasn't been touched by the issue of domestic violence,
00:15whether it's been their own personal experience or a friend or family member.
00:20It got to the point where I was 41 kilos and I couldn't eat. I was so stressed all the
00:24time. I was crying all the time. I had no friends because I'd been isolated. It was
00:30absolutely dreadful. You just don't know who to trust anymore or who you can talk to.
00:36We run our services from the front line. The sort of people that we will meet will be coming
00:40past us potentially and have a cup of tea with us and then they start to tell us about
00:45their story.
00:47Jo gave me so much advice and she was always in my corner. I was so focused on me at the
00:53time that I didn't really pay attention to Jo's set up, but I went there every week for
00:58months. She was there to support me and it made me feel strong.
01:02She just needed a little bit of, you know, love and a bit of behind the scenes support.
01:08I thought she was incredible because she'd actually told this man who had been abusing
01:13her for many, many years to leave and he did.
01:19Her story is so important that other women can say whole, you know, like, that's the
01:24situation I've been in. Maybe there's hope for me.
01:28I feel alive again.
