00:00All right to the northeast we go now where we have a live look at New York
00:04City. We've been looking at the Big Apple here over the last few hours and we've
00:11seen the dark clouds but you even saw some Sun but now finally those storms
00:16are making their way back into the area and that's what's really helping to fuel
00:22some of these thunderstorms now. I do want to take a look really quickly at
00:26where some of those storms are located. If we look at radar right now we're
00:33seeing some severe thunderstorm warnings starting to pop up there especially not
00:38too far from New York City unfortunately. Let's see where some of them are. We're
00:44seeing this nasty line moving right through New York. Let's zoom in a little
00:48bit closer there towards the boroughs. Even Brooklyn seeing some heavier rain.
00:51Oh it's nasty right here along that evening commute. I know the trains are
00:56yucky right now especially because it's been so warm and humid as well. So
01:01surely sweating it out and hopefully you have the umbrella but we are tracking
01:05some heavy rain up and down even through Manhattan. If we zoom in a little bit
01:09closer here just to kind of see where we are to get our bearings a little bit
01:14here even upwards towards Greenwich and I want to take off some of this
01:19reflectivity just to kind of see if we can get some of that more of street view
01:23here so we can see that more clearly potentially. We'll see how that works
01:28but we can see where we have the heaviest rain that is moving right just
01:34east of Manhattan right through Brooklyn and Queens but further north we have a
01:38severe thunderstorm warning there in effect across Connecticut Fairfield
01:42County Connecticut Westchester New York County Fairfield Connecticut heads up
01:48severe thunderstorm warning until the half hour we're also tracking severe
01:53thunderstorm warnings further south not too far but right there not right there
01:59just south not far from Long Island on Monmouth County New Jersey even a little
02:04bit further north if we zoom in closer to some of these areas I just want to
02:09point out yes Middleton is under this wall down through Edgewood Park we also
02:15have Ocean County New Jersey under a severe thunderstorm warning as well so
02:19some of these storms are packing some small hail also dumping some heavy rain
02:24we are seeing flooding concerns around Philly we have flash flood warnings
02:29there and that's going to go until 10 that's because we've seen some heavy
02:33rain dumping and causing lots of problems look at that sky just from
02:38earlier today looks upset right it wants to dump lots of moisture and
02:42unfortunately it's manifesting itself in a flooding so if we do take a look at
02:48what's on tap here throughout the rest of our Friday evening we still have to
02:52be on the lookout for severe thunderstorms through Friday downpours
02:57hail even localized damaging winds anywhere between 50 to 60 miles per hour
03:01your accurate local storm X 75 miles per hour you'll note though that while we
03:06have to deal with these storms now they do start to clear out as we head into
03:10Saturday not a bad start to the weekend it's going to be a dry and mild
