Documentaries produced for Lumière Bros. in 1896 with at least 3 confirmed camera operators for each film: the French Charles Moisson and Francis Doublier, and the Belgian Camille Cerf.
It documents the coronation celebrations of Russian Tsar Nikolai Alexandrovich Romanov as "Nicholas II Emperor of All Russia", the last Russian emperor. The same would be murdered with all his family and employees in 1917 by order of Lenin, the Russian Bolsheviks.
Identification of the snippets:
1) Admiral Sallandrouze de Lamornaix and General Tournier, members of the French Extraordinary Mission leaving the Cheremetiew Hotel, headquarters of the French Embassy in Moscow towards the Kremlin for the celebrations. Filmed by Charles Moisson.
2) General Le Mouton de Boisdeffre, member of the French Extraordinary Mission and Count of Montebello, French Ambassador to Russia, leaving in the next carriage for the same destination. Filmed by Charles Moisson.
3) Madame Lannes, the Countess of Montebello, leaves in a third carriage for the same destination. Filmed by Charles Moisson. Only one frame of that film is preserved.
4) In another location, the arrival in 3 carriages of the Empress Mother Maria Feodorovna and the Grand Duchess Xenia of Turkey is recorded with the entire retinue of servants accompanying the procession on foot. Filmed by Francis Doublier.

6) The couple of sovereigns descends the Staircase of the Lions in the Kremlin with Alexandra Feodorovna arm in arm with the Tsar and on her right, with a platoon of armored soldiers in front and all the illustrious guests following them. Filmed by Charles Moisson.
7) Lower registers in three different shots of the illustrious guests after descending the Staircase of the Lions and continuing the procession. One of the military officers can be seen drawing the attention of someone in the crowd as he follows the procession. Filmed by Camille Cerf.
