00:00Renting has to be safe, it has to be secure, it has to be affordable for everyone.
00:05And when the new government comes in, this really does have to be one of their top priorities.
00:11On July 5th, we want people thinking about this, whoever it is, whoever makes up the next government,
00:17these aren't just voters we're talking about, they're people, their lives are at risk.
00:22So what's happening right now is we're hearing from a lot of people who are becoming homeless
00:29because landlords are evicting them maybe because the tenant has made a complaint
00:38about the quality of their housing or even that the landlord just wants to free up the property for a sale.
00:46And the renters, they don't have any kind of protection in this scenario.
00:51People are losing their homes, it's becoming quite a widespread issue.
00:58No one deserves to live this way.
01:01And this is fueling this homelessness and housing crisis that we're seeing across the country.
