Your Father’s Day messages and reflections

It’s Father’s Day on Sunday the 16th of June - here are some messages to Dads and reflections from Leeds City Centre.

00:00My dad is literally the most hard-working guy I know.

00:04He's had the same job for the past 15 years, working in the bakery,

00:091 a.m. till 11 a.m. every day.

00:12There's 10-hour shifts every day.

00:13He's only had one day off sick in the past 15 years.

00:16He puts in the hours and he puts in the graft.

00:18And I worked with him for a short while.

00:21And, you know, it's not easy.

00:24It's horrible.

00:24I could only manage doing it for about a year or so,

00:26and he's been doing it for the past 15.

00:28My father's name is Ali.

00:30First of all, I want to say happy Father's Day,

00:33and I wish you all the best.

00:36God bless you.

00:37We miss you always.

00:39Big shout out to Carl, my dad.

00:41Absolute, what a man.

00:43Actually, recently made a nice little memory with him.

00:46So we went over to Isle of Man.

00:48We're both quite into cars and motor sort of stuff.

00:52And we went and watched the Isle of Man TT, just me and him,

00:54which was, yeah, very nice.

00:56So I definitely think that'll stick with me for the rest of my life.

00:59He's very similar to me.

01:01I find traits in myself, which I definitely get off him.

01:04Since it's Father's Day, obviously, I want to remember my own father,

01:07who sadly died two years ago.

01:11I wish I'd had more time with him.

01:13I have not been around with them for a long time,

01:17because I left home maybe 30 years ago now, probably more.

01:22My dad's not a big believer in Father's Day.

01:24He doesn't like much in terms of, he won't want a card or a gift.

01:30Maybe he just want me, you know, pop over and say,

01:31happy Father's Day to him.

01:32But I don't know if he'll see this, but happy Father's Day, yeah.

01:36I love my husband, who was the father of my kids,

01:39who recently had a stroke and has been struggling.

01:42And I want to say to him that he's doing his best,

01:47and I'm rooting for him.

01:49He's such a great dad.

01:50He's my children's hero.

01:53And it's a sad time, but, you know, I love him to bits.
