01:08The Philippine Coast Guard gave a solemn ceremony of the battle of Kasarilang

01:12to the Philippine Coast Guard in the BRP Teresa Magbanwa.

01:16According to the PCG, that was the first flag ceremony of the Philippines

01:21in Escoda or Sabina Shoal in the West Philippine Sea.

01:25Eight Chinese vessels were seen inside Escoda, four outside.

01:30According to the Philippine Navy, 146 Chinese vessels were seen in the West Philippine Sea

01:35from June 4 to June 10.

01:3822 of those were ships of their Navy.

01:42What will be concerning is if they have forces from their other fleets,

01:48the East Sea Fleet or the North Sea Fleet.

01:50But so far, the increase in numbers is still within our acceptable limits.

01:55China will implement this new order to their China Coast Guard

01:59to arrest unlawful trespassers in their borders in the sea.

02:04China said that there is nothing to be afraid of if there is nothing illegal being done.

02:09But the Philippine Navy said that China has no right to say this

02:14about our exclusive economic zone.

04:23After the discovery of a loan from China,

04:27for the construction of a train line in Mindanao,

04:30the Department of Transportation is now studying the overhaul of the project.

04:35Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista said

04:38that the use of diesel-powered trains is in the first plan.

04:42And now, the new system is planned to be modern and eco-friendly.

04:48It is expected that this study will be completed by the current administration.

04:53The DOTR is coordinating with the Department of Finance

04:56for the procurement of funds for this project.

04:59In February, the DOTR announced the start of pre-construction activities for the project.

05:05This includes land acquisitions in areas where the project will pass

05:10and possible locations of resettlement for affected residents.

05:15The agency is now working with other countries and international financial institutions

05:20to obtain official development assistance to fund the project.

05:28Here is the breaking news.

05:31Five houses were burned in a compound in Barangay Tandang Sora in Quezon City earlier this morning.

05:36The fire spread quickly because the houses were close together.

05:40The fire lasted for half an hour before it was extinguished.

05:43The BFP is still investigating the fire that started on the ground floor of a house.

05:48The overall importance of the fire is also being investigated.

05:51The affected residents are still waiting for their relatives.

05:59A man was arrested in Barangay Pasong Tamo in Quezon City for illegal sale of guns.

06:04According to the police, the suspect sold the gun for Php 5,000 for a calibre .38 revolver.

06:11In an investigation, the suspect stole a gun from a security guard in May.

06:16The suspect admitted that he stole the gun and sold it.

06:19He was able to do that because of his necessity.

06:23He will face a complaint of violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and Anti-Fencing Law.

06:34Domestic and wild birds are prohibited from entering the United States from Michigan.

06:40This is followed by a confirmed bird flu outbreak there, according to our Department of Agriculture.

06:45Poultry products, day-old chicks, and eggs are also banned in the country.

06:50The Philippines has also banned the importation of poultry products from Australia because of the bird flu.

08:02In a cemetery in Manila, a man was arrested for killing his wife in 2021.

08:08He explained that they fought for help.

08:11EJ Gomez has the news.

08:15This 30-year-old man returned to prison after he was arrested for hiding in a cemetery in Santa Cruz, Manila.

08:23Our operatives found out that he returned to his home here in Manila North.

08:29He went there and was arrested by our police.

08:32In August 2021, the man was found to have killed his wife in Santa Cruz, Manila.

08:38According to the police, the man gave up.

08:40He was in prison for a period of time and was released.

08:44But the man hid while he heard the complaint of homicide that was filed against him.

08:50This warrant was issued for the reason that he did not comply with the agreement that he was arranging for the victim.

09:03Until the police found out that he returned to the cemetery and he was found dead there.

09:07Based on the investigation, the crime stemmed from the aid provided by the barangay.

09:11What he wanted from his aid was for me to sell it.

09:15When I refused to sell it, he suddenly said ma'am, we had a fight. I just defended myself.

09:21In their defeat, he was hit by a broken bottle, which became the reason for the death of our victim.

09:28He said he regretted what he did.

09:30I didn't do it on purpose. I ran to his hospital ma'am.

09:35The accused is in the custody of the Malate Police.
