00:00very specific housing issues faced around the country will be addressed by
00:05working much more closely with local communities and that's not about
00:09sidelining state governments but more about saying well where we've got local
00:15city councils or communities potentially like yours who have an appetite for more
00:20housing, have innovative thinking and I'm very keen to see the Griffin Green
00:25project later on today that where you've got that appetite that perhaps
00:31government funding can flow and support not only social and affordable housing
00:36but also private sector investment into housing. The housing spectrum all the way
00:40from private home ownership down to social and affordable housing will
00:45require in some way shape or form along the way this support of local government
00:52without it being a criticism of our wonderful state MPs in the room, lots of
00:58local governments have been starved of funding, starved of
01:05opportunities to even grow their own ratepayer base in a rate capping
01:09environment and yet we still expect local government to deliver the same
01:13sort of services and developments that they always have and the numbers just
01:17don't stack up.
