As the lionesses and the Womens super league have ensured the security and growth of women’s football across the world over the last 5 years, A football club has come under fire for axing it’s entire female section with Beth Mead making her feelings known, on the situation.

00:22We are all devastated to hear of the Thornaby FC decision and would like to thank the members
00:27of the club who voted to keep female football.
00:31Beth Mead, who grew up near Whitby in North Yorkshire, said the girls deserve better.
00:36Disgusted to see this decision, the England and Arsenal forward wrote on social media,
00:40the women's game is on the up but we still have committees making these horrible decisions.
00:46It's not good enough, these young girls deserve better.
00:49I'd love to send the team a signed England shirt to keep them inspired.
00:54The six board members who made the decision have now stepped down.
