00:16Did you see a few parallels, though, between this film and that?
00:18Yes.
00:19And that they helped kind of, like, unlock a character which was, I don't know,
00:23did it just come out a very specific period of time?
00:25Yeah, yeah, for sure, yeah. This is very much of that period, yeah.
00:30You do face off against a grizzled Tom Hardy in this, and whenever I see a young actor
00:34do that in a movie, I always think about when Shia LaBeouf was with him in Lawless,
00:38and they said after the movie he was terrified of him on set because of the way he immerses himself
00:43in a character. Did you get any of that, or was that dispelled during the film?
00:47You know what, it was, you know, we didn't really say that much to each other before
00:51I had the first scene that I had with him, and all the scene was was me staring at him
00:55from across the fireplace, and we were block shooting it, and I ended up just sort of
00:59staying in it for the whole time, so for, like, an hour.
01:02And I'm having all this dialogue in my head, and I realise I'm sort of staring at him,
01:06and then he started staring back at me, and I was like, well, I can't look away now,
01:10so then I'm in this sort of, like, inadvertent weird stare-off with Tom,
01:14and then after a while he was like...
01:16And then I kind of did that back, and then it became, like, a kind of funny joking thing.
01:20And then it was awesome after that. We got along like house and fire.
01:23And it was just a quick move to the bathroom, a quick change of trousers.
01:26Exactly, yeah, and then back to my trailer to hide.
01:29And how do you do with all the bikes, man?
01:31I mean, various actors, I know Tom's big into his motorcycles,
01:34and now Austin's, like, dad and his granddad are into it.
01:36Yeah, yeah.
01:37Was this, like, one of those new things as an actor you had to kind of train yourself
01:40to be comfortable on, or...
01:42I'd never ridden a motorbike in my life, and then I did a couple of days
01:46sort of training course leading up to it, and now I'm obsessed with it.
01:51I just bought a Harley.
01:53Really?
01:54Yeah, I just bought one, yeah.
01:55Oh, my God.
01:56I don't know how I feel about that, but...
01:57I bet the parents are absolutely freaking out over that.
