Family of Four Year Old Child With Rare Cancer Denied Disabled Parking Badge

The family of a young girl with a rare bone cancer was denied a disabled parking badge because they "didn't meet the criteria". Despite her condition, the local council denied the family's application for a blue badge, citing a rule that requires the medical condition to last for at least three years. The council apologized but stated they had no discretion in following the rules set by the Department for Transport.
