00:00The first one is, if a PGA Tour golfer played the last eight events Sheffler's played, API,
00:07players, Houston, Masters, RBC Heritage, PGA Memorial, and he didn't note he also played
00:13Colonial in here, but the stat was factored in, and made the cut at all eight and played
00:17them all to field average, he'd be about five over at the end of those 32 rounds.
00:21And that same time, Scottie Sheffler is 106 under.
00:26Players adjust and erase that.
00:27Five players have won the Masters, the players in the Memorial in their career, Scottie,
00:31Tiger, Freddie Couples, Raymond Floyd, Jack Nicklaus, Sheffler and Woods are the only
00:37players to win all three in the same year.
00:40And then one last one from Kyle Porter, the gap in total OWGR points between Scottie Sheffler
00:45and world number three Rory McIlroy is the same in the gap in total OWGR points between
00:51Rory and world number 613 Anthony Quayle.
00:56I just, you know, and I know, and Kyle put another tweet out that was just looking at
01:01some, you know, some peak numbers.
01:04And I know we do the hyperbole thing every time with Scottie and it gets tired of some
01:08of, you know, for every stat there is like this, there's another one that illustrates
01:12how far away not only he is, but everyone who's peaked was from Tiger Woods at his peak.
01:17But I mean, it's just, he just keeps getting closer and closer to that level of dominance.
01:22And, you know, you have to then match that with consistency year over year, but it's
01:26just truly unbelievable.
01:27And this was a week where you go look at the strokes gained and you know, he's, he's a
01:32little bit just slightly positive there on, on, on putting, he lost some strokes on the
01:37green on Sunday putting, you know, but can just find a way to get it done putting just
01:41about field average.
01:42Cause he's just by far the best ball striker on the planet.
01:46Well, he was, he was top 10 and putting the first couple of days, maybe into most of his
01:50round on Saturday.
01:52And he was the, he was in top three iron play on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
01:57And this golf course was a U S open test, really small greens rough was so thick greens
02:02cut insanely firm on the weekend as I was out there watching.
02:07And you know, this golf, that golf course was really designed and made for someone like
02:13Scottie Sheffler.
02:14And it really was his tournament to lose.
02:16I felt like where, when you talked about earlier about Scottie Sheffler and we'll vote
02:20Bahala.
02:21I thought it was a really a fantastic interview that I listened to with, uh, Solly from no
02:27way up in Brando Chamblee.
02:28And they, they talked a little bit about that test at, at, um, at Valhalla and they kind
02:34of, they, they referred to the PGA at the, I believe it was Brando as an execution test.
02:39And I thought that was a really good way of putting it because it didn't necessarily
02:44test the best players in the world.
02:47It was more about who can execute the best.
02:50And I felt like this past week of Memorial, like you had to answer every single test that
02:55it was giving it to you was 20, 30 mile an hour gust at times, firm, small greens.
03:01They're the third smallest screens on the PGA tour and much firmer, more rough and a
03:07top five longest golf course on the tour.
03:10So we're just talking about a ridiculous track that Scottie Sheffler's, uh, totally built
03:14to win.
03:15And I will say it was a, if anybody's from up in that area, the, uh, the cottonwood,
03:22Oh goodness.
03:23I guarantee there's gonna be some guys that show up with some type of allergies from that
03:28from last week, just stuffiness and just how difficult the golf course was.
03:32So I'll be interested to see how light, uh, column work out Scottie Sheffler take the
03:37early part of this week because the U S open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, it is practice
03:44rounds that are so, so long.
03:46It feels like it's just, you can't get around the golf course.
03:50There's so many people, you gotta get tee times.
03:52It's not like last week in which there's only 70 players in that you can kind of zip around
03:58the golf course.
03:59And there's, there is a pro am, but it's a fun pro.
04:00I mean, you only play nine holes.
04:02So that's the only thing I think slowing down Scottie Sheffler right now, because from what
04:07I saw out here at Pinehurst this week, this guy's, uh, uh, the odds, I think reflect exactly
04:12where, where he should be staying this week, which, which is probably going to be the top
04:16of the leaderboard.
