Her mother had bought a small cake with a single candle, glowing brightly.
As everyone sang, the birthday girl’s attention was completely captured by the flickering flame. Curious and fascinated, she reached out to touch it. As her tiny hand moved closer to the candle, the sudden heat surprised her, and she quickly pulled back.
The shock of the warmth left her wide-eyed, momentarily forgetting about the cake and the singing around her.
