00:00Don't go anywhere! Stay tuned for the Ubisoft Forward post-show for deeper looks at Assassin's
00:08Creed Shadows, Star Wars Outlaws, and The Division 2. Presented by Intel, the main PC
00:15partner for Assassin's Creed Shadows.
00:19Hello, my name is Thierry Dansereau, Art Director on Assassin's Creed Shadows.
00:26And I'm Charles Benoit, Game Director on Assassin's Creed Shadows. We are here today to share
00:31details on our first gameplay walkthrough for Assassin's Creed Shadows.
00:37Torrigate are really iconic in Japanese culture and also very striking visually. So when the
00:42players see them, they will know there is something interesting to discover following
00:47that path. It can be secrets, it can be loot, targets, everything that fuels your progression.
00:57We wanted to showcase one of the many castle towns that the game will act. In Assassin's
01:01Creed Shadows, you'll be exploring a dynamic and ever-changing open world, all of which
01:05is affected by dynamic seasons and weather systems.
01:11The wildlife is now more than ever part of the game ecosystem and biomes. In Assassin's
01:15Creed Shadows, a lot of the game wildlife will evolve and change colors through seasons
01:19and the player will even see puppies, mostly in the springtime.
01:24The goal is to have more natural behaviors and awareness systems.
01:38You're about to see Yasuke in action. In that sequence, Yasuke is going to find one of his
01:43targets. We'll have a lot of targets to hunt around Japan and this zip cam and celebration
01:50is used to highlight those moments when you find them.
02:00Let's see some combat now.
02:05The notion of dynamism was also applied to our props that are, for most of them, breakable.
02:13Yasuke is using a Kanabo, so it's a big massive weapon, slow but very impactful. It's the
02:21best weapon to break enemies' armor. It's also a good tactic to remove armor first because
02:26it reduces the time to deal with your opponents.
02:31You can see the yellow bar under the enemy. It represents the armor and once it's broken,
02:37it's a lot easier to land hits and inflict damage.
02:42When you're attacking and defending, charge up your adrenaline meter. Once it's full, you
02:46can spend all those resources to push back or knock down or inflict damages and even
02:52put the enemy vulnerable.
02:54One of the big combat novelties is the posture system. You can hold your attack and posture
02:59at any moment inside a combo. Those attacks inflict massive damage and can also branch
03:04into execution. But of course, if you use those attacks, you expose yourself. So the
03:10key is to really master the timing and learning in mid-behavior. In the end, your competency
03:16can give you an edge over your stats.
03:21The players always have two weapons at the same time, so they can freely switch between
03:25both of them. You can see here Yasuke has the classic katana and he's using one of his
03:32unique moves, the Sheeted Attack. Now you can concentrate on the target. You can see
03:38the katana is a lot faster and versatile. Looking at the target, you see he's a lot
03:44more reactive and defensive. If you're taking the posture like right now, he's also using
03:50one of his postures against you. So it creates really this dance between the two fighters.
03:57The enemy reactivity really pushes the player to use all his tools. So the parry, you need
04:03to react, you need to read the enemy to find the best opening and land the posture attacks
04:09when it's best.
04:18Yasuke and Aoi have their own personal story and their own life. But once they're allied,
04:23they cooperate to achieve the common objective. It means you can also switch at any moment
04:29in the open world. Of course, not during the infiltration or when you're fighting,
04:33but otherwise the players can really choose the character they want at any time and choose
04:39how they want to play them.
04:45In this sequence, Yasuke is suggesting to use the Spy Network. It's a new system that
04:50we introduced in Assassin's Creed Shadow to support the Shinobi fantasy and help the player
04:55to find their objective. So you can send your spy to scout areas and spot your target or the
05:02quest objective you have. Sometimes we have both characters in the cutscene where you can pick the
05:07one who answer or ask questions. At the end, you can also pick the character you want to continue
05:13with. You can choose between Naoe being more stealth oriented or Yasuke being a bit more
05:19focused on fight. From this point, we are with Naoe inside the Fukujiyama Castle. Feudal Japanese
05:35castles are amazing playgrounds as they offer a lot of opportunity to play in them in a stealth
05:39way or rather in a fight oriented. In the following sequence, you can see what's new in terms of
05:45parkour and stealth. First, our grappling hook. It's fully physics based so your speed and direction
05:51can affect where you go. You can also assassinate from the grappling hook as you can see now.
05:57We brought back the cover system to sneak and peek so you can use your tool from there. You
06:02can also observe your surroundings. You can now use prawn and crawl in tall grass so you can hide,
06:08you can go under small openings so it's really useful to sneak around. But one of the big
06:16novelties is the dynamic perception of the enemies. They are affected by light and shadow so here you
06:22can see Naoe can break the light and able to vanish and reduce the detection time so it's a
06:28lot easier to quickly move undetected. The weapons of Naoe are great for combat but also for stealth.
06:34Each weapon has a specific type of assassination.
06:37Like here with the Kusarigama, you can also assassinate your enemy but at range.
06:48With Naoe, you'll feel like a shinobi with all the new animations we added to make her a lot
06:53more agile and faster when doing parkour and everything she does basically. Naoe is an agile
07:01self-focused shinobi who will use noise, light and shadows to evade detection as enemies respond
07:06to their changing surroundings. Naoe is currently making her way to reach her target. She's going
07:14through some elite samurai houses and as she progresses, the player will see and discover
07:19other iconic areas of the castle such as the Dainyo quarter.
07:22The grappling hook can be also used to grab enemies which is very useful to move them quickly
07:31and dispose of them in the better spot. It's much more efficient than just carrying a dead
07:37body for example. It's giving the player the option to decide if they want to kill or not.
07:43We have a couple of abilities, we have gear, we have weapons that can bring down enemies
07:48until they are wake up by other people. Like you saw with the Kusarigama, the katana also
07:54have special assassination. You can stab people through shoji door and stay mostly silent.
08:00So depending on the weapon you have equipped, you have a different assassination opportunity.
08:11He's coming, I need to hide. In interior, there are places to hide but one of the cool ones is
08:17the beam that you can use to grapple on the ceiling. It's really useful to not being spot
08:22of course but also wait for an opportunity to assassinate.
08:37Here we saw a sudden weather state change that triggered a thunderstorm.
08:41The noise and the rain and the wind cover your footstep and also your action. The demo is in
08:47spring but in winter, the old pan will be frozen so you can't use the same tactic. You will have
08:52to use prawn in deep snow or use the kunai to deal with the target at distance. Another cool
08:58shinobi trick you can see is Naoe using the breathing stick. With that, you can stay hidden
09:03underwater and wait for the perfect opportunity to assassinate or just sneak around. If you're
09:09detected, you can choose to escape to return to your stealth loop or go straight in combat.
09:14Naoe is choosing combat with the Kusarigama, a versatile weapon that can use the cycle in one
09:20hand and the weighted chain in the other, allowing some range and melee fight depending on your attacks.
09:29In this case, the player decided to escape after many guards joined the fight.
09:33Even if Naoe can be very deadly, she doesn't have a strong armor like Yasuke so
09:39it's a lot more risky when you fight multiple enemies at the same time.
09:43Anyway, in this case, she already achieved her objective. She killed the Demio so all is fine.
09:50We just saw the infiltration at night with Naoe. You can also imagine the other option
09:54of taking Yasuke and breaking through the front door. Day, night, weather, even season can affect
09:59the challenges on your path. Thanks for watching. We hope that you've enjoyed this presentation.
10:06Assassin's Creed Shadows will be launching on November 15. We can't wait for you to play it.
11:13Hello everyone, I am John Bjerling, Associate Narrative Director on Star Wars Outlaws,
11:25and I'm here to break down the lore, references, and any other Star Wars details
11:29you may have missed in our latest gameplay walkthrough.
11:37K is a fan of arcade games and has been playing this Raven Six space shooter for years.
11:42You can find it and other games scattered throughout the galaxy.
11:47K grew up around cantinas and learned from an early age that they're both places to lie low
11:51and to find new opportunities. As K travels throughout the galaxy,
11:55it's always a good idea to head to the local cantina when looking for intel or work.
12:02Kwaki and Manka lizards can be found everywhere in the Outer Rim and they're used as pets,
12:07thieves, and even food. But few are as privileged as Salacious B. Crumb in Jabba's palace.
12:19Many merchants will use protocol droids to handle customers from every corner of the galaxy
12:23who don't speak basic or Huttese. K can bypass the droids since she's fluent in Huttese and
12:28she can use this to talk her way out of, or directly into, some tense situations.
12:38The Trailblazer is an EML-850 light freighter from the Clone Wars.
12:42Its reinforced hull was built to ensure safe transport into any kind of environment.
12:47But the high material costs ruined its chances for mass production.
12:51The ship is a rare prototype from a bygone era that had a life of its own
12:55before ending up in K's hands.
12:57Akiva is an Outer Rim planet that the Empire controls via the local government.
13:02Normally, the Empire doesn't have a presence there, but like with many other remote worlds,
13:06they carry out occasional audits with support from the Imperial military.
13:12The Empire is also known as the Outer Rim,
13:15but it's also known as the Outer Rim of the Outer Rim.
13:18The Outer Rim of the Outer Rim is a remote region of the Outer Rim,
13:21but it's also known as the Outer Rim of the Outer Rim.
13:23Akiva is orbited by an asteroid field made up of the remains of a comet called Kinro.
13:29Legend has it that several Jedi banded together and used the Force to tear it apart.
13:34But most people think that's just a myth.
13:37Traveling in the Outer Rim is dangerous,
13:40and spacers, smugglers, and syndicate freighters are all at risk of being attacked by pirates.
13:45Most pirates are protectors of the Outer Rim,
13:48and the Outer Rim is a dangerous place to be.
13:50Pirate ships, like the Scourge and Junkross, are cheap and expendable.
13:55Pirates typically steal whatever they can get their hands on,
13:57and they often rely on scare tactics and aggression to get their score.
14:02The Pike Syndicate has shipping lanes across the Outer Rim,
14:06making their freighters hot targets for pirates and rival syndicates.
14:10The Pirate Syndicate is also known as the Outer Rim of the Outer Rim,
14:14but it's also known as the Outer Rim of the Outer Rim.
14:17Growing up in the workers' district of Canterbight,
14:20Kay always dreamed of being able to get off-world and travel the galaxy.
14:24After taking the Trailblazer and honing her piloting skills,
14:27she's finally able to jump across the galaxy in search of the freedom
14:31she's always wanted for her and Nyx.
14:34The Outer Rim of the Outer Rim is a dangerous place to be,
14:37and the Outer Rim is a dangerous place to be.
14:39But the Outer Rim of the Outer Rim is also a dangerous place to be.
14:43Kay is entering the legendary Mos Eisley on Tatooine,
14:46but this planet is large with more than one settlement for you to discover.
14:50It's been a privilege to recreate iconic locations, such as Chalmun's Cantina,
14:55while also expanding on the world with locations that are completely new.
15:02Here we see Kay about to engage in a game of Kessel Sabacc,
15:05which is her favorite card game in the galaxy.
15:07Tatooine is the home of Jabba the Hutt,
15:10and after the Hutt cartel faced the surprising loss of their council,
15:13Jabba is at the height of his power in the criminal underworld.
15:17Following the destruction of the Death Star,
15:19the Empire has increased their presence on Tatooine,
15:22but everybody knows it's Jabba's domain.
15:25The other sinners of Tatooine are the Hutt Cartel,
15:27and the Hutt Cartel is a group of mercenaries
15:30who are trying to take control of the galaxy.
15:32The Hutt Cartel is a group of mercenaries who are trying to take control of the galaxy.
15:35It's Jabba's domain.
15:36The other syndicates stick to the shadows.
15:40Kay's speeder is an S57 Cardinal,
15:43a multi-terrain speeder bike that's perfect for explorers.
15:47This speeder is both reliable and moddable,
15:49and Kay can call it from afar using a control module
15:52to give her and Nick's a chance to rest their feet.
15:55Imperial shuttles are a dead giveaway that there's some imperial activity nearby.
16:00Sometimes that might add further risk,
16:03but in other cases it can be a great opportunity for a scoundrel.
16:07Some Jawas on Tatooine travel around in sand crawlers,
16:11offering trade deals for whoever happens to be nearby.
16:14The sand crawlers were originally built for mining operations,
16:18but were co-opted by the Jawas as a way to hold and transport salvage.
16:25These flyhorn lizards can be found all around Tatooine's deserts.
16:29The lizards use their tails and horns to catch condensation and smaller insects,
16:34while keeping cool by hiding in the sand.
16:36Some moisture farmers use the lizards as an indication of their yield.
16:48The huts are present outside the main cities too,
16:51and have established compounds all over Tatooine.
16:54Depending on your reputation level,
16:56you can walk right in or be turned away from Syndicate territory,
17:00so your interactions with these locations and the Syndicates within
17:03will change throughout the game.
17:11Kay and Nick's have been thieving together for years,
17:13and their incredibly close bond means that they are able to support each other in any situation.
17:26Kay is using a well-worn VM-19 Heavy Blaster,
17:51with the unique ability to switch modules.
17:54Here we see Kay use the stun mode to take out this guard instantly and quietly.
18:09This is Kay's data spike, which she can use for picking locks.
18:13When not in use, she conceals it by wearing it as a hairpin.
18:24These Enforcer Droids are widely used by Syndicates as cheap and expendable firepower.
18:41They are very dangerous,
18:42but Kay can use her blaster's Ion module to disrupt them, as we see here.
18:47You may recognize these as Massives, a native Tatooine predator,
18:51with thick armored hides, sharp spines, and a dangerous bite.
18:55They were first domesticated by the Tusken,
18:58but even the Hutt Cartel Beastmasters used them to guard their territory.
19:04And here we see the iconic Gamorreans, that were hired by Jabba himself as his most important ally.
19:11And here we see the iconic Gamorreans,
19:14that were hired by Jabba himself as his most reliable guards.
19:18They are incredibly powerful and dangerous, particularly at close range.
19:23Here we see Kay switching to her power module to try and take them out before fleeing.
19:35Tatooine will feature its iconic Twin Suns,
19:38and you'll be able to witness some beautiful sunrises and sunsets
19:41on your journey across the desert planet.
19:46Next to the Sheriff's office, we see some Banthas,
19:49which are typically domesticated herd animals, used for their milk, meat, leather, and transport.
19:55Banthas are omnivores and can sustain energy without food or water for long stretches of time.
20:01We see Kay arriving at Wayfar Station,
20:04where moisture farmers come to sell water, socialize, and buy equipment.
20:08Tatooine is known to be filled with outlaws preying on these farmers,
20:12which is why we see a stacked bounty board on the wall to the Sheriff's office.
20:16Eagle-eyed viewers may even spot Kay's picture on the board.
20:24Sheriff Quint is a Weequay and former pirate who had a lot of success due to her gunslinger skills.
20:30She eventually turned away from her old lifestyle and towards the law,
20:34using her skills to help the people of Wayfar.
20:37Quint is one of the experts in our game, so Kay can agree to help her out,
20:41and in exchange, Quint will help Kay develop her skills with the blaster.
20:53This is another look at Tushara, the new savannah moon
20:56created in collaboration between Massive Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games.
21:00The strong winds on the moon wear down the naturally occurring amberine.
21:03This can create ramps for Kay and Nyx to take advantage of on the speeder.
21:07Here we get another glimpse of the lush, dense jungle planet of Akiva,
21:11which has been fully realized visually for the first time.
21:15Akiva has a very interesting history,
21:17and that's something we were excited to explore with Kay and Nyx.
21:21Kay grew up brawling in cantinas and sneaking around as a thief,
21:25so she can hold her own in combat.
21:27We even see her take down a Death Trooper with an electro-shock prod.
21:32And here we see a range of alien species being brought together by Sabacc.
21:36This includes a Galution, a Zabrak, and Trandoshan.
21:41You'll encounter a range of different species scattered across the Outer Rim.
21:53Kay and Nyx are betting on a fathier race,
21:55being broadcast live from her hometown of Canto Bight.
21:59Nyx loves following the race on the holoprojector.
22:03These are Aglis Flyers, native to Tushara.
22:06They have a habit of stealing anything they can get their hands on,
22:09hoarding the items in remote nests.
22:11The Tusharans use wind fishing nets to capture them for their meat.
22:16In addition to Kay's blaster,
22:17she'll learn to use some other weapons when she needs some additional firepower,
22:21such as this Imperial Z-6 Rotary Blaster Cannon.
22:26And finally, here we see a Rancor,
22:29a reptilian species that originally hailed from the planet Dathomir.
22:33As fans will know, Rancors are extremely dangerous,
22:37so they present quite a threat to someone like Kay.
22:42And that's some of the things that you may have missed in our latest gameplay walkthrough.
22:46The team is hard at work crafting this galactic scandal adventure,
22:50and we're excited for players to experience the Outer Rim as Kay and her companion Nyx.
22:55On August 30th.
22:58If you're willing to take the risk, the galaxy is full of opportunity.
23:02Outer Rim
23:22As we're wrapping up Year 5, we want to thank you for your continuous support.
23:25During this year, we brought you Project Resolve,
23:27a revamp of Project Rewards, a significant boost to global events for playability,
23:31various PvP improvements, a major gear balancing pass,
23:34as well as almost 2,000 bug fixes.
23:36These major changes laid the foundation for exciting updates coming with Year 6,
23:40and even more thrilling developments ahead.
23:43We are just getting started.
23:48Year 6 is a year of transformation as we prepare the game for even more content.
23:53In Year 6, the Division 2 will feature three seasons.
23:55Each of them will bring fundamental changes to the endgame and our seasonal model,
23:59enhancing the game's accessibility and engagement to new heights.
24:02The first season, titled First Rogue, is set to begin on June 11th.
24:08Keener is alive.
24:09Come find me.
24:11Keener is alive and has come to Washington D.C. to meet with us.
24:14However, as is always the case with Keener,
24:16the road to finding him is paved with dangers, and his true intentions remain unclear.
24:21What do you believe, Agent?
24:24The first important change that we're bringing in Year 6 is one endgame for all Agents.
24:30All owners of Tom Clancy's The Division 2 can now level up their characters to level 40
24:35without needing to own warlords of New York and enjoy the seasonal experience.
24:39That means that all Division 2 players can continue leveling up in Washington D.C.,
24:44and once they reach level 40, they will gain access to all past and future endgame content,
24:49including exclusive weapons and gear, seasonal manhunt and events,
24:53endgame modes like the Summit, Countdown, and Paradise Lost Incursion.
25:07To expedite players' access to the endgame,
25:09we're introducing a new progression system to offer you more ways to advance
25:13and customize your gameplay experience.
25:15Seasons 2.0.
25:17With Seasons 2.0, we'll bring a fresh twist to the experience, seasonal characters.
25:22By creating a season-specific character, you'll be able to experiment with new builds,
25:27modifiers and mechanics affecting both Agents and enemies,
25:30getting a unique experience every season.
25:33We streamlined the progression to ensure a rewarding journey both for new players and veterans,
25:37without requiring extensive playtime to reach level 40.
25:40Expect weekly updates filled with fresh activities,
25:42improved progression, and rebalanced XP gain.
25:45All within an immersive narrative that unfolds through Year 6.
25:56At the end of each season, all your hard-earned XP and rewards will merge with your main characters,
26:01and your seasonal characters will be added to your existing roster,
26:04expanding your options and strategies.
26:09Year 6 also transforms the manhunts as we know them,
26:12bringing a new gameplay experience.
26:14Say goodbye to targets and lieutenants as we introduce weekly scouts,
26:17allowing for a better-paced story progression.
26:19Each scout will be a project consisting of a few engagement activities for you to complete.
26:24Scouts will be available to seasonal characters only,
26:27and built to complement your overall progression in the season.
26:30That's not all.
26:31Prepare for a new difficulty level available for Climax missions only.
26:35Master.
26:36Master difficulty will offer an epic conclusion to each season,
26:40providing challenging and thrilling gameplay experiences designed for 4 players.
26:48Later in the year, we're excited to bring you an improved player customization experience.
26:52Look forward to improvements and new functionalities
26:55that will let you celebrate your characters and achievements
26:58in more dynamic and personalized ways.
27:05Year 6 will culminate in the new season of Climax.
27:08Year 6 will culminate in the new story DLC,
27:11which will return players to the place where it all began, Brooklyn, New York.
27:14Join the Division in the upcoming season and watch the story unfold.
27:18We can't wait for you to see what's next.
