00:00How do you attribute this victory? Is it the experience, is it the ability for the players to maintain the calmness along with you and how do you see or any other factor?
00:16You know first of all very very happy with the result that we got and the biggest positive for us was the calmness.
00:23Because when we were batting in the morning there was a lot more help and when we started bowling the skies opened up and the ball stopped seething and there wasn't a lot of lateral movement.
00:32So we had to be more consistent and more accurate and we as a unit were very calm and very clear on what we wanted to do.
00:40So very happy that as a unit we were able to contribute and created that pressure and then we were able to get the win.
00:47Jaspreet, do you think that you are in the best phase of your career at the moment, the way you are bowling and what is making you so special?
01:00It has been an unbelievable spell from the IPL. What has been so brilliant about these performances of late?
01:09Sir, see a year ago the same people were saying that I might not play again and my career is over and then now the question has changed.
01:17But I don't look at that. For me I am not looking at bowling at the best of my ability. I try to solve the problem that is there in front of me and try to control the controllables.
01:26I know it's a cliche answer that everybody just comes and says, yeah we try to stick to the processes and try to control the controllables.
01:32But I was trying to focus on what is the best option over here on a wicket like this. How do I make shot making difficult?
01:39What are the best options for me? So that way I try to stay in the present and focus on what I have to do.
01:44Because if I look at the outside noise, if I look at people and pressure and emotion takes over then things don't really work for me.
01:51So I was trying to do that, trying to create my own bubble and trying to focus on that and try to put my best foot forward.
01:59Jassi, congratulations on a great bowling performance. On air in commentary actually two great Pakistani bowlers,
02:07Basim Akram and Walker were saying your final two overs were the turning point that can decide the match either way.
02:14You proved them right actually. But my question is about Rohit Sharma. Was his captaincy spot on today?
02:21Yeah, very clear. So that is what we were, we had a chat that you know we were a little disappointed on the total that we had put up
02:28because we wanted to add more runs and obviously that was not the plan. We left one over as well.
02:33So once we started, we were very clear the message in the huddle was that now that is over, now what is next?
02:40What are the things that are in our control? So we will try to focus on that and not to create panic.
02:44Because yes, there will be boundaries here and there. People might play good shots.
02:48But we will have to try and be composed and try to hold our shape. So that was the biggest positive.
02:53Not at any stage did I feel that the panic had spread in the team and we were looking too far ahead.
02:58So that is a really positive sign for us.
03:01What did you think of the atmosphere in the stadium?
03:05It was pretty good. It was a full house, always an India-Pakistan game, the atmosphere is really high.
03:11A lot of emotion does come in and it did not feel like we were not playing in India because the support that we get
03:17wherever we go, we get a lot of support and fans come in large numbers.
03:22So that does help with the energy part of the setup that we have.
03:26So yes, very happy with the support and we were happy that we were able to give them a win as well.
03:30Jasprit, 119, how do you draw the balance between pulling runs back and looking for wickets?
03:37And how do you not get desperate for wickets?
03:40So that is very important. Even when there is help, you can be desperate and you can try to go fuller and try to bowl that magic delivery.
03:48I tried not to do that but when we came, the swing and seam had reduced.
03:53So we had to be accurate because if we go for magic deliveries and try to be too desperate, run making becomes easy and they know the target.
04:00So we had to be very mindful of not to overdo it and yes, add up pressure, use the big boundaries, try to use things to your advantage.
04:08That is what we were doing. So in that, we created pressure and everybody got wickets.
04:13Jasprit, going back to the previous game, on a wicket that tends to do a lot, how difficult is it for you to rein it in and stick to the basics
04:19as opposed to getting carried away by the wicket and what it has to offer?
04:23So in that aspect, experience does help you a little bit because whenever there is help, you can get excited.
04:29You can try and go pole hunting, you can bowl bouncers, you can bowl outswingers, inswingers but you don't have to do that.
04:36I have learned that over the experience but this time, it was not happening a lot.
04:40The ball was not doing a lot. Yes, we did create pressure.
04:43Little bit of lateral movement was there but not too much, not as pronounced as the last game.
04:47So in that, then you go back to what has worked for you and you try to stick to the basics
04:51and you try to stick to your strengths and try to make shot making as difficult as you can.
04:56Bumrah, bowling was the pick-up from both sides today.
05:00Do you really think posting 119 was enough on this pitch?
05:03And secondly, what in your opinion was the turning point while bowling second?
05:07See, obviously we were a little disappointed by the total.
05:10We wanted to put more runs on the board because we knew that there was some help
05:13and you know, chasing a total on a tricky wicket can be difficult.
05:17But then the sun opened up and the seam did go down.
05:20So yeah, we were a little disappointed with the total.
05:22We obviously wanted to put more runs on the board but then once that was done,
05:26we were focusing on what we could do.
05:28And then when that third over of mine, that was a crucial stage of that situation
05:32that if that would have been an over that would have gone in Pakistan's favour,
05:35then the game would have gone in that favour.
05:37So we were very happy that we pulled it off and I think at that moment,
05:40the moment shifted to our side and we were able to capitalise.
05:44Bumrah, I am Irfan from Sono News.
05:46My question is that I believe India has got the victories due to the bowlers.
05:50The fast bowling has become a very tremendous job.
05:54What do you think?
05:56Pakistan was cruising till the middle of the phase of the innings
05:59but you were over when you got the wicket of Hammad Rizwan.
06:02That was the key moment or any other thing you believe?
06:05So, it's not like one particular moment.
06:08Yes, obviously we were, you know, there was a decent start
06:12but I think the first wicket was very important as well to set the base
06:15because then you start adding pressure because if they get off to a good start
06:18on this wicket, then we didn't have a lot of runs on the board
06:21and then the pressure keeps on rising on us.
06:23So that was also a crucial stage and in the middle stages,
06:27whenever everybody came in and they were trying to execute what they wanted to,
06:30they were able to do that.
06:32So that was pretty good.
06:33I think it's a combination of all those things that really helped us.
06:37So, yeah, we as a bowling unit, you know, take a lot of pride in our bowling
06:40and we worked really hard to, you know, develop more skills
06:44and try to, you know, help the team as much as we can.
06:47So, we were very happy that we were able to do it in this game.
06:54Jassi, here.
06:56In T20 cricket, the bowlers are getting the ball.
06:59Does that make you feel a little ticklish
07:01because today's match is also being said for the bowlers that you have won.
07:05Does it feel a little fun?
07:07Sir, I can't be happier than this.
07:09I try my best to praise and advocate for the bowlers
07:13and the appreciation that the bowlers get.
07:18Because our country is obviously a batsman-loving country and we understand that.
07:22But we are very happy that, you know, bowlers are coming up front.
07:25Obviously, the IPL that we played was not very bowler-friendly,
07:29but we were very happy that, you know, we didn't come here with that baggage.
07:32And when we were getting help here, we were trying to use it.
07:37So, we have played a lot of T20 cricket with that experience.
07:40So, after that, clarity comes.
07:42So, after that, it feels good when there is help.
07:44So, obviously, when the bat and ball challenge is good,
07:47it is more interesting to watch the match.
07:49When bat versus bat, I turn off the TV.
07:52So, for this, I have been a fan of bowling since childhood.
07:56When there is a challenge between bat and ball, that is the game I like.
07:59And no complaints. I am very happy.
08:02Thanks very much everyone.
08:03Cheers.
