00:00Pretty lively, I hope you can hear me behind all the chanting, but there was absolutely an explosion of joy here at the France Unbowed party headquarters when those projections came out.
00:10Manon Aubry has just finished speaking and as you can hear, her supporters are in full force, thrilled with that news.
00:18Well, she took aim at President Macron's politics in her speech there,
00:23saying that tonight shows a defeat of his values and said that it's now evident that the country wants to turn the page on the Macron era.
00:31She thanked her supporters and her party for a formidable campaign, that's what she said,
00:37saying that every time we mobilise, we get it done and that now we will be numerous in the European Parliament.
00:44And there was huge screams of support when she made her stance very clear on calling for a ceasefire in Gaza
00:51and how that must be, that remains a key tenet of this party.
00:57And she also ended by thanking everybody for voting for youth.
01:02But there's absolutely a sense of vibrancy here.
01:05Last election, back in 2019, France Unbowed had about 6.3% of the seats, it's just under 9% now.
01:12So it is a bump for them, it is seen as a success and you can see that vibrancy and that joy here at the party headquarters.
