00:02 So a young person steals, gets caught, gets angry,
00:05 and argues that she has the right
00:06 to steal a certain amount.
00:08 And it's illegal to stop her
00:09 from stealing a certain amount,
00:11 which leads us to the front door
00:13 of the Fox News at Night Common Sense Department,
00:15 and Los Angeles interim police chief, Dominic Choi,
00:18 who is using the same logic, basically,
00:21 as our young female thief.
00:22 The chief says violent crime in LA is holding steady,
00:26 but property crimes are down.
00:28 But when the chief says violent crime is steady,
00:30 he means still at record levels.
00:32 And when he says property crime is down,
00:33 he means still at record levels,
00:35 but not rising quite as fast.
00:37 So the chief appears to have adopted
00:39 Joe Biden's inflation explanation.
00:41 The chief also said public perception of rising crime
00:45 is driven by the media.
00:46 And the funny thing is, he said that just hours before
00:50 giving the media new stats
00:52 showing that crime is actually rising.
00:55 So if Common Sense has this right,
00:57 the media reports that crime is up,
00:59 the public believes crime is up,
01:01 the chief is upset the public believes crime is up,
01:04 then confirms crime is up.
01:06 Is it any wonder that people wonder what to believe?
01:10 It's one big shell game,
01:11 and we are the suckers looking for the shell.
01:14 Common Sense wants honesty.
01:16 It wants somebody somewhere to say crime is up,
01:19 inflation is up, and we suck.
01:22 But we're trying to fix it.
