00:02 I've been diagnosed depressed for over 30 years.
00:05 There has never been a better time to be mentally ill.
00:11 [LAUGHTER]
00:14 Welcome, everybody.
00:16 What we are doing today is not a comedy show.
00:21 I've never been a part of any group therapy.
00:23 Have you done group therapy?
00:24 No, certainly not with Neil Patrick Harris.
00:27 To be clear, I am not a therapist.
00:30 We got chosen as the mentally ill comedians to be in this.
00:33 From all around the world, we suck out.
00:37 I failed three grades, dropped out of high school.
00:40 I was voted least likely.
00:43 I've been running with it ever since.
00:46 I have a serious sleepwalking disorder
00:48 that got so bad that I actually jumped through a second story
00:50 window like the Hulk.
00:52 Celexa, fexa, cyprexa.
00:54 I think my doctor just said, let's try drugs that rhyme.
00:57 [LAUGHTER]
01:00 Things were happening that I don't know if I could Google.
01:03 I just felt like I was lazy and crazy.
01:04 My dad was like, what the fuck is wrong with you?
01:09 I think stand-up seems wrought with so much insecurity.
01:12 My stand-up version of me is basically
01:15 just the ultimate bad bitch.
01:16 I should try your style.
01:18 [LAUGHTER]
01:22 I would be like, oh, god.
01:24 She is my spinal fusion.
01:28 I didn't really mention that my mom has, like,
01:30 mental illness or anything with friendships
01:33 or relationships at all.
01:35 I really need this, is what I'm saying.
01:37 [LAUGHTER]
01:39 I found myself making jokes about these different things
01:45 that I hadn't been able to find humor in.
01:47 It's no surprise that I'm blonde right now.
01:50 I remember wanting to be a white girl so badly.
01:53 I thought being white was seen as beautiful.
01:57 Movies and television tell you that the psych ward
02:00 is dangerous.
02:01 And I got recognized by another patient who said,
02:04 I don't want to embarrass you, but am I crazy,
02:05 or are you Gary Goldman?
02:07 And I said, oh, you're crazy.
02:08 [LAUGHTER]
02:11 I love it when people can make jokes like that,
02:14 because it just makes you feel, oh, yeah,
02:16 we're all in this together.
02:17 And there's funny things about this and sad things about this.
02:19 And we're all just going through it.
02:22 Or get yourself a mental health designer handbag.
02:25 I do that.
02:26 I got myself a mental health Chanel bag.
02:29 Girl, it helps.
02:30 Yeah, exactly.
02:30 [LAUGHTER]
02:32 Mental health, yeah.
