00:00Yesterday in Ipe Muzuhara, Shohei Ohtani's former interpreter pleading guilty and MLB
00:06wrapping up its investigation. As we dive right in, what was your reaction to MLB closing its
00:13investigation into Shohei Ohtani? Yeah, that's the first part of it. I think that was really
00:19important to put that behind them because Ohtani is going to be on display once again,
00:23most likely I would say at the All-Star Game, if not in the Home Run Derby again, I would guess.
00:28I mean, that's coming up real soon. They don't want this conversation to linger into that. So
00:32it was good that that was put to bed. As far as Ohtani is concerned personally,
00:36I do think that a lot of the stuff that happened that he didn't know about, I definitely feel that
00:42way. But still for me, the fact remains is that we all check our checking account and our bank
00:46accounts every once in a while, if not every day. Hard to believe this guy never questioned
00:53half a million dollars leaving his account. That's just me. Maybe that's the case.
00:57And I'll defer to the fact that the investigation said that he had no idea about it. Okay,
01:03so be it. It's just, as I've explained to other people, it's just crazy for me to believe that
01:10you would look at your account, maybe all of us, and see a few thousand, 10,000. Oh my gosh,
01:14what's going on here? And not question anything. But okay. As far as the other story is concerned,
01:19I guess my takeaway from that was I was happy, Ben, that later in the day, we talked about it
01:23in the morning, but I was happy later in the day that the talking heads, so to speak, and the
01:27analysts were not singling out Major League Baseball. I think they probably wanted to,
01:31and then realized, wait, all of a sudden this happened in our sport, in the NBA. It's happened
01:35in our sport, in the NFL. So it's a league-wide issue. They got to get it fixed one way or the
01:39other. But naturally for me, they're setting precedent for a lot of these players, especially
01:44the ones in the minor leagues. I mean, I don't think they did anything particularly too egregious.
01:48Kind of sad to think that you could bet $100 on something and be suspended a year,
01:52but they're setting the precedent now. My guess is, Ben, doing the show 5,
01:5610, 15 years from now, the penalties will be a lot less stiffer.
