Slovenia’s Foreign Minister ‘proud’ to recognize Palestine

After Slovenia became the latest country to officially recognize Palestine, Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon told CGTN she was “proud of the decision,” saying it sent “a strong message to everyone in the region that we want to see peace.”

Calling for a ceasefire, for the release of hostages and for additional humanitarian aid, she said “What we see today is a starvation of population, deaths of civilians, unjustified violations of international humanitarian law, and we see no development in a positive direction. The time is ticking and a lot of people are really suffering in Gaza.”
