Former Leeds Rhinos star Rob Burrow dies at 41

Former Leeds Rhinos star and charity fundraiser and campaigner, Rob Burrow, has died aged 41, due to complications surrounding motor neurone disease. Daniel Wales reports on his legacy.

00:09 Burrow had been living with motor neurone disease since 2019, which over the course
00:13 of its progression had severely reduced his physical and cognitive ability. Despite this,
00:19 alongside former team mate Kevin Sinfield, Burrow campaigned for better awareness of
00:24 the disease and fundraised in the hope that one day a cure will be found. During his time
00:30 as a player, Burrow won eight Super League titles with Leeds as well as two Challenge
00:36 Cups, making him one of the most decorated players ever to play rugby league.
00:43 Tributes have come from around the world and many on social media, with flowers laid at
00:47 Headingley. His passing will be sorely felt in Leeds both for his time as a player and
00:53 as a campaigner and fundraiser.
