Chichester Festival of Flowers Designer excited for guests to arrive tomorrow

00:00So I'm Hannah Howell, I am the designer for the Flower Festival 2024. Yeah, we've got the Flower

00:05Festival behind us. The theme is creation, so we have taken that quite broadly, including things

00:10like planets behind us, and then we've also got extracts from Genesis, from the Bible,

00:16so they've all been represented in flowers throughout the Cathedral. I'm really excited,

00:20also a little bit nervous, but we've used some new mechanics and things this year, so we are

00:26testing our arranger skills, but really excited for everyone to come and see it, and all their

00:31first impressions. I really hope everyone's blown away, and I hope everybody notices the detail,

00:36because there's some really interesting little things inside each arrangement throughout the

00:41theme. So yeah, hopefully everyone will love it. It's really important to have a really good team

00:46that work together. It's quite high pressure to get everything done within the day or two days

00:52that we're doing this, and also try and make it last for the whole of the Flower Festival,

00:57so everybody gets to enjoy it. But we've brought together lots of people who have worked together

01:03in the past, so we've got repeat arrangers who've been doing it for absolutely years,

01:07and then some newbies like me, so they've come on for the first time. I've done arrangements before

01:12here, and been a florist for a long time, but I've just brought in people from the industry, so

01:18they all work together on different jobs and things, so they've all come together,

01:22gelled nicely, and produced some amazing work.
