00:00 It's the first day of the era of national coalitions and power sharing in South Africa.
00:05 The ANC's senior members are meeting and discussing all options.
00:09 And as ANC Secretary General Fekile Mbalula said, the party will engage with everyone
00:14 who wants to engage with it, but will not be entertaining demands for ANC President
00:19 Sol Ramaphosa to step down.
00:21 The ANC's National Executive Committee is expected to hold a briefing tomorrow to discuss
00:26 the outcome of all the talks.
00:30 And in the Western Cape, the opposition DA's Federal Council decided that they would engage
00:35 in exploratory talks with parties that share their values in working for all the people
00:40 of South Africa and protecting the constitution.
00:43 The MK party has not changed its position on being willing to enter into a coalition
00:48 with the ANC on condition that Ramaphosa steps down.
00:51 However, MK party president and former South African President Jacob Zuma, his position
00:57 as MK president is in question as Jabouliani Kamalo, the original founding member and president
01:03 of the party, who was ousted shortly before the elections, was in the electoral court
01:08 this morning asking to be reinstated as MK president.
01:12 His lawyer aversed that the letter of resignation sent to the IEC by Zuma's daughter Duduzile
01:18 had not come from Kamalo, who had on the same day that the IEC received the alleged resignation
01:24 letter told them that he was not resigning.
