00:00:23 Great interview with him for longtime AWLs.
00:00:26 Know that he was one of our favorite interviews back in the day and we should have had him
00:00:29 on earlier, but he's back now.
00:00:31 Talk about the NBA finals.
00:00:33 Talk about playing in the NBA.
00:00:36 Great interview with him.

00:00:39 We finally have it.
00:00:40 It is the Edmonton Oilers versus the Florida Panthers.
00:00:44 We've got some other sports to talk about.
00:00:46 We have hot, or sorry, who's back of the week.

00:00:54 been game one tonight.
00:00:56 I think we can all agree.

00:02:46 That's code take for new customers to get a no sweat bet up to 1500 bucks.
00:02:50 If your first bet doesn't hit only on DraftKings, today is Monday, June 3rd and the Edmonton
00:02:57 Oilers are set to go to the Stanley Cup Final where they will face the Florida Panthers
00:03:04 and Connor McDavid.
00:03:06 Can he win the big one?
00:03:08 He's now in the big one.
00:03:10 This is big for Canada.
00:03:11 This is huge for Canada.
00:03:12 This is huge for Canada.
00:03:13 I like to think about that, an entire nation.
00:03:15 When was the last time?
00:03:16 1993?
00:03:17 That they won?
00:03:18 '95?
00:03:19 That they won?
00:03:20 That they won a Stanley Cup.
00:03:23 It's been a long time.
00:03:24 It's been a long time for our friendly friends up north.
00:03:27 And God damn it, this is going to be good.
00:03:29 I'm excited about this.
00:03:31 And the Connor McDavid goal to start the scoring tonight against the Stars was absolutely unreal.
00:03:39 I mean, that was the goal where you're just like, not that he needs it.
00:03:43 Again, he still hasn't won the big one, so we're going to wait on that.
00:03:46 But that goal was so silly and it was ridiculous and it looked like a goal that you would see
00:03:52 come across your timeline in the middle of December.
00:03:55 Being like, "Oh, he's just trying some new shit out against the Coyotes."
00:03:59 No, that was game six of a Western Conference Final to clinch going to the Cup.
00:04:04 He is so God damn good and the Oilers are so hot and they have a celebrity fan now ready
00:04:11 to take them to the Cup against Brooks Koepka.
00:04:13 Yeah, if you need a reason to root for the Edmonton Oilers, I will give you two reasons
00:04:17 to root for the Edmonton Oilers.
00:04:20 This fan.
00:04:21 Oh, I thought you were going to say Dreisaitl and-
00:04:22 No, no, no.
00:04:23 This fan.
00:04:24 Yeah, yeah.
00:04:25 Just this fan.
00:04:26 The two best reasons.
00:04:27 Yeah.
00:04:28 What fan?
00:04:29 Oh, it was the fan that flashed her titties and they were really nice.
00:04:31 You saw her.
00:04:33 You'll probably date her.
00:04:34 It was a great video.
00:04:36 She's passionate.
00:04:37 She's very passionate.
00:04:38 I love the passion.
00:04:39 She's very passionate.
00:04:40 Yeah.
00:04:41 We need to introduce her to our boy Kodak down in Florida.
00:04:46 Get a little Pease reunion going down there.
00:04:48 Isn't it so funny that this Edmonton Oilers fan that was just flashing her whole section.
00:04:55 Her upper section.
00:04:56 The internet is a crazy place.
00:05:00 We've made some crazy technological advancements and you can find porn, nudity, whatever you
00:05:06 want at any time, but if you get a pair in the wild, it gets the boys going unlike anything
00:05:12 else.
00:05:13 It is different.
00:05:14 It's all the talk.
00:05:15 I think I've seen that video a thousand times just put on my timeline and it will probably
00:05:21 be a thousand more by the time we drop the puck on Saturday night.
00:05:26 I'll watch it every time.
00:05:27 Yeah.
00:05:28 It's not like I'm getting horny when I'm watching.
00:05:29 I'm just like, "That's awesome."
00:05:31 Yeah.
00:05:32 Maybe a little bit horny.
00:05:33 Boobs rock.
00:05:34 What do you think?
00:05:35 Those are A-cups spelled E-H?
00:05:36 There you go.
00:05:37 But yeah, we're going to have Whitney on, I think, Thursday for the Stanley Cup final
00:05:42 preview, but we had the Oilers.
00:05:44 I'm happy for Edmonton Oilers.
00:05:45 I'm happy for their fan base.
00:05:47 Connor McDavid could be the next up in terms of best player.
00:05:53 He's got to win the big one.
00:05:55 Right now he still sucks.
00:05:56 I did play myself a little when I said we need to figure out who the next one is that
00:06:00 we can say can't win the big one in case McDavid wins it.
00:06:05 And then everyone was just like, "Bedard."
00:06:06 So I was like, "Fuck."
00:06:07 Bedard's got a couple-
00:06:08 Yeah, he's only been in the league for one year.
00:06:10 He's got a couple seasons before that.
00:06:12 He has to get to the playoffs.
00:06:13 Correct.
00:06:14 Then he has to lose a playoff series.
00:06:16 Then the narrative can start.
00:06:17 Correct.
00:06:18 Correct.
00:06:19 But yeah, there's other friends of ours that you could put in that group too, which that
00:06:23 also would play ourselves.
00:06:25 Not going to do that though.
00:06:26 Yeah, right.
00:06:27 We are going to do that.
00:06:28 We'll just say that we hope Connor McDavid wins it, and we can be like, "He won the big
00:06:31 one."
00:06:32 And if he doesn't, then he can't win the big one.
00:06:33 Then he can't win the big one.
00:06:35 In a way, I'm kind of hoping that he loses so we can really focus this take on him.
00:06:39 Losing in the Stanley Cup Finals would be the ultimate point on that crown of cannot
00:06:43 win the big one.
00:06:44 Next step to not winning the big one.
00:06:46 Yeah.
00:06:47 Yeah.
00:06:48 But I think I'm rooting for Canada.
00:06:49 Sorry, Jake.
00:06:50 Sorry about your P's.
00:06:51 Sorry, Brooks.
00:06:52 Yeah, me versus the world.
00:06:53 I am as well.
00:06:54 Yeah.
00:06:55 Canada, you're just so nice.
00:06:56 They just care so much.
00:06:57 They care so deeply.
00:06:58 Also-
00:06:59 Edmonton's so far up there.
00:07:00 You ever seen a map?
00:07:01 Edmonton's all the way up there.
00:07:02 And the ice is different in Canada too.
00:07:03 Yeah, it's shinier.
00:07:04 It's a little shiny ice, fast ice, good ice.
00:07:06 The crowd going nuts tonight.
00:07:08 It was awesome.
00:07:09 How many shots on goal did Edmonton have tonight?
00:07:10 Nine.
00:07:11 Nine?
00:07:12 Yeah.
00:07:13 They had nine shots on goal.
00:07:14 All they needed was McDavid's insane shot.
00:07:16 And he had a great assist too to Hyman.
00:07:18 Yeah.
00:07:19 He was, that was awesome.
00:07:21 The other side, memes.
00:07:24 You have to be so happy.
00:07:25 I went immediately to memes just getting, first of all, memes tweeted.
00:07:29 Did you tweet from the part of my take account, just a Rangers jersey that said ass?
00:07:33 Yeah.
00:07:34 Yeah.
00:07:35 People were upset about that, but I love it because this is what memes does.
00:07:40 Memes congratulations.
00:07:41 You've won your Stanley cup as someone who also hates a lot in sports.
00:07:45 I'm happy for you in this moment.
00:07:47 Yeah, I'm super pumped.
00:07:51 I took a couple of victory laps last night.
00:07:53 Yeah, I'm just very excited.
00:07:56 Summer could officially start.
00:07:58 You do like watching the Rangers lose more than you like watching the Islanders win.
00:08:02 Yeah, probably at this point.
00:08:04 Yeah.
00:08:05 The Frankie did his tweet that he does every single year for the 83rd time in 84 seasons,
00:08:10 the New York Rangers have been eliminated from the playoffs and that got people very
00:08:14 upset.
00:08:15 It is crazy that a franchise has been around that long and it gets talked about like that
00:08:18 and it's only won one.
00:08:19 Yeah.
00:08:20 Yeah.
00:08:21 There was just that one season during the OJ year and besides that, all theirs come
00:08:25 from like World War II.
00:08:26 Yeah.
00:08:27 Do you think they could ever win it?
00:08:29 This year was probably their best year.
00:08:31 Oh man.
00:08:32 There's also the stat from Josh Dubow with the range eliminated.
00:08:36 There have now been a hundred combined seasons by the Rangers Islanders, Knicks, Nets, Yankees,
00:08:40 Mets, Jets, Giants without a championship.
00:08:43 That's wild.
00:08:44 So what's the last one?
00:08:45 It's the Giants.
00:08:46 Yankees in '09.
00:08:47 No, Giants in 2012.
00:08:48 Yeah, Giants.
00:08:49 That's crazy.
00:08:50 100 combined.
00:08:51 Bad sports town.
00:08:52 Man, they do have Aaron Judge who can't stop hitting home runs.
00:08:57 And Juan Soto who's just absolutely ridiculous.
00:09:00 Yeah.
00:09:01 It's more Juan Soto and Aaron Judge combined.
00:09:03 And Cole hopefully for the second half.
00:09:05 Oh, once a Yankee, always a Yankee.
00:09:08 Yeah.
00:09:09 Yeah.
00:09:10 New York sports down bad.
00:09:11 A hundred combined?
00:09:13 That's a lot of seasons in a row, isn't it Hank?
00:09:16 Because they have a lot of teams.
00:09:19 Twice as many teams.
00:09:20 Holy shit.
00:09:21 I don't think Hank's ever gone that long as an alive person without a team winning a championship.
00:09:26 Not even close.
00:09:27 Yeah.
00:09:28 Not even close to close.
00:09:30 This is probably the longest stretch.
00:09:32 Yeah.
00:09:33 You're in the midst of your worst stretch.
00:09:35 And you won a Super Bowl what, like six years ago?
00:09:38 Yeah, in the Red Sox one in 2018.
00:09:42 Oh, you're such a piece of shit.
00:09:44 I'm excited though.
00:09:46 Speaking of it, Hank, I know we talked about it last week, but the NBA schedule, my body
00:09:52 was ready for the NBA finals to start tonight.
00:09:55 It's brutal.
00:09:56 I mean, I'm just walking around the house being like, "What do I do?"
00:09:59 Just start the game.
00:10:01 Just start it.
00:10:02 I can't keep thinking about it.
00:10:03 Just start.
00:10:04 And you still have three more days.
00:10:05 I know.
00:10:06 Three more full days to get through.
00:10:07 Yeah.
00:10:08 Are you weaponizing time?
00:10:09 No, I'm not great with time management.
00:10:12 I'm just waiting.
00:10:13 I'm just sitting and waiting.
00:10:14 Yeah.
00:10:15 You're getting hungry though.
00:10:16 I'm so ready.
00:10:17 My body is so ready.
00:10:18 As hungry as you've ever been.
00:10:20 Longest drought of your life.
00:10:21 I'm sticking with my Celtics in seven, but I did find some stats.
00:10:25 I told you I was going to search and they're not.
00:10:28 They make me think that I'm just nervous for you.
00:10:34 It's going to be tight.
00:10:35 I mean, it's not going to be an easy, easy series.
00:10:38 The Mavericks with these starting five guys that they've had would be a 67 win team, which
00:10:44 is I know that they weren't a 67 win team, but they've been playing like a 67 win team.
00:10:51 They're a good team.
00:10:52 Yeah.
00:10:53 Okay.
00:10:54 Did you guys see the stats?
00:10:55 I still am taking Celtics in seven.
00:10:56 Yeah, I feel good.
00:10:58 I feel strong about Celtics in seven.
00:10:59 Do you guys see the stat over the weekend that going back to 2017, every NBA champion
00:11:03 has had a former wizard on the team?
00:11:06 All the role players, they're all wizards.
00:11:08 So it's JaVale McGee, Sean Livingston, Jody Meeks, JaVale McGee again, Dwight Howard,
00:11:13 Markeith Morris, Bobby Portis, Gary Payton, Otto Porter, Chris Chiosa, KCP, Jeff Green,
00:11:19 Ish Smith, Thomas Bryant.
00:11:20 That's just the list of former wizards since 2017.
00:11:23 So that means-
00:11:24 Like everyone's a former wizard though.
00:11:25 This year.
00:11:26 This year goes to the wizards for one year.
00:11:27 Yes, correct.
00:11:28 Correct.
00:11:29 Correct.
00:11:30 But don't downplay the stat, Hank.
00:11:31 It's a true stat.
00:11:32 This year Porzingis-
00:11:33 I didn't know any of those guys were on the wizards.
00:11:34 Porzingis.
00:11:35 Porzingis, Hank.
00:11:36 Also Gafford on the Mavericks.
00:11:38 So the stats going to continue for at least one more season.
00:11:40 Yeah, I guess-
00:11:41 It's important though.
00:11:42 It's very important.
00:11:43 Yeah.
00:11:44 Those are the important stats.
00:11:45 Yep.
00:11:46 Okay.
00:11:47 We could talk some soccer.
00:11:50 I'm waiting just to...
00:11:52 You know what?
00:11:53 Fuck it.
00:11:54 Let's just do it.
00:11:55 I'm going to tell you something.
00:11:56 Last week, the discourse fucking sucks.
00:11:58 What happened this time?
00:11:59 It got worse.
00:12:00 It got way worse.
00:12:01 It's so much worse than it was last week.
00:12:03 Kaitlin Clark got assaulted.
00:12:04 She almost died.
00:12:06 Yeah.
00:12:07 And we all have to sit here and debate it and talk about things that are not basketball.
00:12:10 Yeah.
00:12:11 So Kaitlin Clark, it was a good game.
00:12:12 Yeah.
00:12:13 We watched the game between the Sky and the Fever on Saturday.
00:12:16 These two teams don't like each other very much.
00:12:18 Little Raven Steelers.
00:12:19 That's going to be the Raven Steelers of the next 10 years in the WNBA.
00:12:23 The Fever beat Chicago on Saturday by one point.
00:12:27 No one's talking about the miss free throw at the end.
00:12:29 Cost her team the game.
00:12:31 It was a good game, but there was a lot of horseplay.
00:12:34 A lot of antics.
00:12:35 A lot of antics.
00:12:36 A lot of extracurriculars on the court involving hip checking Kaitlin Clark, Angel Reese celebrating,
00:12:43 her teammates celebrating, and then none of them wanted to talk about it after the game.
00:12:47 Yes.
00:12:48 Which that part I actually think is a lame move.
00:12:50 Yes.
00:12:51 They hate Kaitlin Clark.
00:12:52 That could be good for the WNBA.
00:12:54 That's been my point.
00:12:55 But you have to acknowledge it.
00:12:56 You have to not give a fuck and be like, "Yeah, we don't like her."
00:12:59 Correct.
00:13:00 And you have to say it with your chest.
00:13:02 The lady from Edmonton would do that.
00:13:04 And the discourse has now become, it's so bizarre to me because one, so it was a cheap
00:13:09 shot.
00:13:10 It's not like, that wasn't like a regular foul.
00:13:13 It also wasn't in terms of cheap shots, a very dangerous one.
00:13:16 It was just like a side check.
00:13:19 And what you would think is that Kaitlin Clark was maimed, assaulted, like beaten close to
00:13:25 death by this one play.
00:13:28 That wasn't the case.
00:13:29 It also, it's so bizarre that every time one of these things happens, it just becomes something
00:13:33 so much bigger than just talking about the basketball game.
00:13:36 And yes, I do think there are women in the WNBA that are very jealous of Kaitlin Clark.
00:13:42 That is lame.
00:13:43 But what I would say to that is, the people who are jealous of Kaitlin Clark and when
00:13:47 they take cheap shots at her, like Kaitlin Clark, if she keeps being really, really good
00:13:51 at basketball and if she has a career that she's expected to have, all those people will
00:13:56 be a footnote to Kaitlin Clark.
00:13:57 It won't matter.
00:13:58 She'll get the last laugh.
00:13:59 And like, they'll just be the jealous haters that are rookie year, tried to toughen her,
00:14:03 you know, try to, try to be tough to her.
00:14:05 It just doesn't matter.
00:14:06 But, but it becomes this thing where it's like, we have to protect Kaitlin Clark.
00:14:10 I also don't understand PFT for the life of me.
00:14:13 I get it.
00:14:14 Kaitlin Clark is going to add viewership, but like asking all the women to basically
00:14:19 be like, we have to bow down to her also makes no sense.
00:14:22 Yeah, they shouldn't.
00:14:23 They shouldn't.
00:14:24 And, and honestly, if this was the NBA and you see this happen in other sports leagues,
00:14:27 somebody comes to the league as a rookie with all these expectations, if they're the main
00:14:31 storyline that year, the players in that league are going to be pissed off about that and
00:14:35 they're going to take it out and they'll, they'll say it though.
00:14:38 They'll be like, yeah, we're sick of people talking about her.
00:14:41 We've been playing basketball too here.
00:14:43 And so we want to show her on the court.
00:14:44 Like, yeah, we're going to beat you up a little bit.
00:14:46 Can you find the clip?
00:14:47 I, if we could play this clip, I remember it so well when LeBron got, uh, was going
00:14:53 to Cleveland and they interviewed, it was like Boozer, Smush Parker, like complete,
00:15:00 like Boozer obviously had a good career, but Smush Parker, no name.
00:15:02 Uh, I think Darius Miles, they basically were like, yeah, maybe he'll be able to like help
00:15:08 us a little bit.
00:15:09 And, and, and shitting on their teammate also Caitlin Clark's teammates.
00:15:14 If someone, someone step up, I got stop.
00:15:18 It's not, it's not the internet's job to defend killing Clark's your teammates job.
00:15:21 That's who you should be mad at.
00:15:22 It should be like, Hey, where are the teammates?
00:15:24 Yeah.
00:15:25 Have they gotten any quotes from her teammates being like, do you like Caitlin Clark?
00:15:28 Cause it seems like they don't, they don't like her either.
00:15:30 Either way.
00:15:31 It's just, it becomes this, this enormous, uh, like culture war that it's like, dude,
00:15:36 I just wanted to watch some basketball.
00:15:38 And I, and if you think that, um, I'm being very consistent because I said this last week
00:15:44 when Angel Reese got clothes lined, which was probably a more dangerous foul and people
00:15:49 were making it bigger than basketball.
00:15:50 I was like, this is going to ruin this.
00:15:52 Like the WNBA, the amount of people who have started watching WNBA who are not actual sports
00:15:57 fans are going to ruin the WNBA.
00:15:59 Yeah.
00:16:00 Because guess what?
00:16:01 Like cheap shots happen.
00:16:02 Hard fouls happen.
00:16:04 Like rivalries happen.
00:16:06 That helps the sport.
00:16:08 Bad blood helps sports.
00:16:09 I would like Angel Reese to just stand on it and say, yeah, fuck her.
00:16:13 I don't like her.
00:16:14 And, and what she said publicly this whole time has been, I have no problem with her.
00:16:18 I like, I like Caitlin Clark and every single action that she's had since, since they had
00:16:22 that, uh, that championship game two years ago has been like, I hate her.
00:16:26 Remember the little crown that she left or like she, she does not like her and just say
00:16:30 that you don't like her.
00:16:31 And then, and then guess what's going to happen after that?
00:16:34 People are going to be like, yes, I love Angel Reese.
00:16:36 I don't like Caitlin Clark.
00:16:37 Other people are going to be like, yes, that's awesome.
00:16:39 I love Caitlin Clark.
00:16:40 I don't like Angel Reese.
00:16:41 And then when they play each other, right, it becomes a big fucking moment and everybody
00:16:45 does.
00:16:46 Right.
00:16:47 And it's a good point because I, for the people who are freaking out, like we must protect
00:16:49 Caitlin Clark.
00:16:50 She can't be like, this is the worst foul ever.
00:16:52 They're lame.
00:16:53 The people on the other side who are saying essentially there's no jealousy and there's
00:16:57 nothing involved.
00:16:58 Like this is just, no, there's jealousy.
00:17:01 They're jealous of Caitlin Clark.
00:17:02 They 100% are.
00:17:03 It's okay to admit it.
00:17:04 They're going, again, they're going to be footnotes in Caitlin Clark's his career.
00:17:09 When it's all said and done, they're going to be the Lance Stevenson blowing in LeBron's
00:17:13 ear.
00:17:14 You know what I mean?
00:17:15 Like that's what, that's what happens when you're, when you can't beat them straight
00:17:17 up, you end up looking petty and probably stupid.
00:17:20 And if Caitlin Clark goes on and has an incredible career, she should invite a, what's her name?
00:17:26 Chaya.
00:17:27 What's her name?
00:17:28 Kennedy Kennedy.
00:17:29 Yeah.
00:17:30 She should do her hall of fame induction and single her out.
00:17:32 You're like, Hey, thanks for, thanks for fucking being like mean to me.
00:17:37 You made me work harder.
00:17:38 Yeah.
00:17:39 That's how sports work.
00:17:40 And uh, there was another shot that was called a cheap shot that it did look like Caitlin
00:17:44 Clark might've flopped a little bit on one of them to try to sell it.
00:17:47 So she flops and that's going to make people hate her more.
00:17:50 But again, this is all, I would already be saying this is good for the sport.
00:17:53 It might already be good for the sport.
00:17:55 I think it is.
00:17:56 I just get exhausted seeing people with, with the, like you said, the culture war takes
00:18:00 online, like go all in on one side of it without like taking the time to acknowledge that this
00:18:07 could be good and feeling this way about sports can lead to some awesome stuff.
00:18:10 And sports are tough and physical and these things happen in sports and we can't just
00:18:15 be like, do you, you cannot touch Caitlin Clark because she is good for the game.
00:18:22 She's great for the game.
00:18:23 She's going to get face guarded.
00:18:25 She's going to probably, obviously if there's cheap shots like at the knees and stuff, but
00:18:28 in terms of again, cheap shots, like a side check is nothing.
00:18:33 Yeah.
00:18:34 I also think that for a long time, women's sports has been talked about like in the sense
00:18:38 of at least by the major media places, like rooting for everyone.
00:18:43 Right.
00:18:44 Like let's celebrate everyone.
00:18:45 Right.
00:18:46 And the way that we talk about men's sport is much different than that where it's like,
00:18:48 fuck this guy.
00:18:49 I hate this guy.
00:18:50 Right.
00:18:51 I want to like memes, hatred towards the range.
00:18:52 Right.
00:18:53 Right.
00:18:54 Like having hatred towards a different city when your teams are playing sports against
00:18:57 each other.
00:18:58 Right.
00:18:59 That's, that's how we feel about sports usually.
00:19:00 And now the WNBA is coming to this place where it's more of a reckoning of not always talking
00:19:05 about every team like, Oh, she's a star.
00:19:08 Oh, she's so good.
00:19:09 And rooting for every single player at the same time, but actually forming an identity
00:19:12 around your team and around players that you care about, love and even casuals forming
00:19:17 that same love hatred about players that they don't normally get our teams that they don't
00:19:22 normally care about.
00:19:23 Yes.
00:19:24 But they're now they're, they're finding themselves invested into it.
00:19:26 Having this type of hatred and love I think is ultimately going to be very, very good
00:19:31 for the WNBA.
00:19:32 Let's sports be sports.
00:19:33 Let them be fun.
00:19:34 Let's just, let's just sports happen if it all evens out because at the end of the day,
00:19:38 the best part about sports is if you're better than the other team or the other player who
00:19:44 is doing this kind of shit, you will end up winning out.
00:19:47 Caitlin Clark will end up having a long career that makes millions of dollars because she's
00:19:51 better than line name.
00:19:53 Kennedy, Kennedy.
00:19:55 Okay.
00:19:56 So Kennedy will look like a fool at the end and that's what, that's the beauty of sports.
00:20:01 We don't need to protect Caitlin Clark by making this some big, uh, you know, discourse
00:20:07 about society and everything.
00:20:09 Just let it fucking play out.
00:20:10 When Kayla Clark wins, it's going to be awesome for her.
00:20:13 Yeah.
00:20:14 So it's, it's kind of like Larry Bird to me where are some players in the WNBA resentful
00:20:19 of Caitlin Clark because she's getting a lot of attention as a white woman.
00:20:23 Whereas the WNBA is predominantly black and there've been a lot of great black players
00:20:26 over the years that haven't gotten the same attention that Caitlin's gotten.
00:20:29 Yes, they probably find some resentment in that and they're upset about that.
00:20:33 Just like a lot of NBA players were upset at the media attention around Larry Bird.
00:20:37 Isaiah Thomas said it before an NBA finals and Larry Bird went and won the NBA finals.
00:20:41 Yes.
00:20:42 Won three MVPs and everyone can, no one can say shit about him.
00:20:45 And what Caitlin's done up to this point has been, it's not because she's white that she's
00:20:49 getting that.
00:20:50 She's really fucking good.
00:20:51 Yeah.
00:20:52 She set the all time record for point score in college.
00:20:53 She's pretty good on her own regardless of, of her race.
00:20:55 But once she gets to the WNBA, she gets her legs under and she becomes the star that people
00:21:00 think that she's going to become.
00:21:02 Guess what?
00:21:03 A lot of that hatred is going to fade away from being like, oh, I'm mad that this white
00:21:07 woman is taking attention from the predominantly black WNBA.
00:21:11 It's going to be just competition against each other.
00:21:13 And I don't like her because we're competing against each other, but God damn it, do I
00:21:17 respect her because she wins.
00:21:18 Any, anyone who's jealous like this, it's almost a compliment because you're basically
00:21:23 like, you're, you're essentially saying, I know that she's a problem.
00:21:28 I know that she's going to be really, really good.
00:21:30 It's like when we, when in the final four, when the Yukon, all Yukon broadcasts and like
00:21:35 Diana Taurasi and all of them were like, well, she's going to find out when they get to the
00:21:38 WNBA, they're threatened because she's young and better.
00:21:44 And so it's like, this is how sports work.
00:21:46 And then when she beats him, she's going to get the last lap.
00:21:49 All right, play this clip.
00:21:50 But I mean, you want to talk about a can't win the big one conversation.
00:21:53 Kaelin Clark, Kaelin Clark, can't win the big one.
00:21:55 Can not win the big one.
00:21:56 All right.
00:21:57 This is from LeBron's rookie year.
00:22:00 This is Carlos Boozer and his other teammates.
00:22:02 We have better players than him in his position already on our team, bro.
00:22:06 And he will come in and make a immediate impact like a Karon Butler.
00:22:11 I don't think you can really just bring a high school player in and really just think
00:22:15 your team going to really turn around like that.
00:22:17 If he come, you know what I'm saying?
00:22:21 He can just hop on our bandwagon.
00:22:23 Yeah, this is like, I mean, this is what happens when someone gets hyped and they show up.
00:22:29 There's going to be resentment because she's better than them.
00:22:32 He was, LeBron was better than them.
00:22:34 Also, if you're playing in the NBA, you probably, you're used to playing against grown men every
00:22:39 single night.
00:22:40 You probably would look down on a high school or two and be like, this, this league is very,
00:22:44 very tough.
00:22:45 I don't know that high schooler can come in and do it.
00:22:47 You're going to, yes, you're going to hate on youngsters.
00:22:48 Guess what?
00:22:50 That's what old people do.
00:22:51 I'm just, and if you're a youngster out there listening to this one day, you're going to
00:22:53 become old and you're going to hate on youngsters too.
00:22:56 Yep.
00:22:57 You're going to say right now, no, that's not, I'm never going to be a hater.
00:22:59 Guess what?
00:23:00 Time makes haters of us all.
00:23:01 All of us, all of us.
00:23:03 I'm just, I just want sports to be sports.
00:23:05 I'm just sick of, of when Kaelin Clark has a game, we just have to have everyone argue
00:23:10 about culture.
00:23:11 Yeah.
00:23:12 There's, there's, you're going to ruin the game.
00:23:13 There's going to be, we got three more think pieces coming today on slate about Caitlin
00:23:18 Clark and what she means.
00:23:20 We must protect her.
00:23:21 The problem with Caitlin Clark.
00:23:23 I, it is very funny when people are like, well, she, she got them that plane.
00:23:27 Why would they not like her?
00:23:28 It's like, cause she's fucking better than them and they're competing.
00:23:32 Yeah.
00:23:33 Why would they, it's a nice plane.
00:23:34 Yeah.
00:23:35 They're competing against each other.
00:23:36 But guess what?
00:23:37 Caitlin Clark gets the league.
00:23:38 Now the rest of the W WNBA doesn't get to use their frequent flyer miles anymore and
00:23:43 collect those sweet benefits on the backend.
00:23:45 So fuck Caitlin Clark.
00:23:46 Yeah.
00:23:47 It's a, it's quite something.
00:23:49 All right.
00:23:50 What else we got?
00:23:51 The, uh, we did have the champions league, Real Madrid talking soccer.
00:23:53 You want to talk soccer real quick?
00:23:55 Sure.
00:23:56 15th champions league.
00:23:57 Yup.
00:23:58 And uh, Barcelona was the first to congratulate them.
00:24:00 Really?
00:24:01 You don't have to do that if you're, if you're a, if you're an official account of a team
00:24:05 on Twitter, you don't have to congratulate your rival on winning a champion.
00:24:09 Oh, that's total cuck.
00:24:10 It is.
00:24:11 They just did for the impressions.
00:24:12 Oh, that's lame.
00:24:13 Why would they do that?
00:24:16 I don't know, but that was talking soccer.
00:24:17 So it was real Madrid, the goat, real Madrid.
00:24:19 Uh, they're the, they're the best franchise.
00:24:22 Man United would always just say that they were 15 is a lot.
00:24:26 Feels like a lot.
00:24:27 Is that the most?
00:24:28 I don't know.
00:24:29 Okay.
00:24:30 Let me look it up.
00:24:31 I'm a super league guy.
00:24:32 Myself champions.
00:24:33 I think it was those two weeks that we had a couple of summers ago.
00:24:36 Yeah.
00:24:37 Most titles in champions league history.
00:24:41 Here we go.
00:24:42 I got it.
00:24:43 All right.
00:24:44 We've got real Madrid with 15 Milan in second place with seven.
00:24:48 I'm going to say it.
00:24:49 Real Madrid, the best ever.
00:24:50 Yes, there's still, that's not even close.
00:24:52 Still the best ever.
00:24:53 Bar, Barthelona has five.
00:24:55 Liverpool has six.
00:24:56 Byron has six.
00:24:57 Come on.
00:24:58 Is it, are they bad for soccer?
00:25:00 Yeah, for sure.
00:25:02 They're for sure.
00:25:03 They're bad for soccer.
00:25:04 Yeah.
00:25:05 Yeah.
00:25:06 I missed the first half of this game and then I saw the second half.
00:25:09 Thrilling.
00:25:10 I saw the end.
00:25:11 I saw the celebrations.
00:25:12 Yeah.
00:25:13 As someone who missed the first half, I was able to bet over one and a half goals in the
00:25:16 second half.
00:25:17 That was fun.
00:25:18 Did it cash?
00:25:19 Yeah.
00:25:20 Oh, nice.
00:25:21 Good work.
00:25:22 I was like, I said some for anyone out there who might've forgotten that this game kicked
00:25:23 off.
00:25:24 Again, soccer should just make goals worth three points and then everybody would be way
00:25:28 happier.
00:25:29 They'd be like, wow, what a high scoring game.
00:25:30 Did you guys see, uh, probably the biggest story of the champions league is Joel Impede
00:25:34 was there.
00:25:35 Yeah.
00:25:36 Got free time.
00:25:37 Yeah.
00:25:38 That was cool.
00:25:39 And he's tall.
00:25:40 Who is he rooting for?
00:25:41 Uh, Real Madrid.
00:25:42 Okay.
00:25:43 Real Madrid fan.
00:25:44 He is.
00:25:45 Did you see the, there was a clip of him.
00:25:46 Wow.
00:25:47 Max, what happened?
00:25:48 Uh, I was singing on Friday.
00:25:49 You sang one song?
00:25:50 But it was, it was one song loudly.
00:25:51 Yeah, it was.
00:25:52 It was loud.
00:25:53 It was very loud.
00:25:54 It was loud.
00:25:55 He also-
00:25:56 You did crush it.
00:25:57 I did crush it.
00:26:23 Max got on stage and there was a guy that was waiting for Max in the front row and he
00:26:27 had two sodas in his hands ready to go and Max saw him and just scowled at him and then
00:26:30 paced around the stage like a tiger circling his prey for a second was like, fuck it, I'm
00:26:34 going to chug those sodas and then just rip the sodas right off the bat.
00:26:37 You looked like Jason Kelsey.
00:26:38 I know.
00:26:39 It was the greatest, that was the greatest compliment that's ever been given.
00:26:42 Yeah.
00:26:43 Hank got booed.
00:26:44 Oh, did I?
00:26:45 You got booed.
00:26:46 Well, it was, it was a clap.
00:26:47 It was round of applause and then you did like a little jump to show your vert and then
00:26:51 people booed your vert.
00:26:52 Oh no.
00:26:53 I thought they were, I just remember the cheers.
00:26:56 Okay, you remember the cheers.
00:26:57 What were you going to say Max about Joe Embiid being at the champions league?
00:27:00 Because he's got time?
00:27:01 What?
00:27:02 No, I didn't say that.
00:27:03 I just said that he was tall.
00:27:04 There was a clip of like two of the pregame guys on each other's shoulders to see if they
00:27:09 were taller than Embiid.
00:27:11 When do you think he bought those tickets?
00:27:12 I don't know.
00:27:14 He probably didn't pay for the tickets.
00:27:16 What about his air flight?
00:27:17 Like his air fare?
00:27:18 He probably bought his flight a couple months ago.
00:27:21 He's a rich man.
00:27:23 Probably a couple months ago.
00:27:24 He's a rich man.
00:27:25 He's a rich man.
00:27:26 Yeah, but he definitely had it planned.
00:27:28 Yeah.
00:27:29 They probably were like, Hey, do you like before the season started, they're like, Hey,
00:27:31 can you come do the desk?
00:27:33 The champions league?
00:27:34 He's like, when?
00:27:35 Oh yeah, no problem.
00:27:38 Early June.
00:27:40 I won't even, we could make it, you want to move it up a week?
00:27:42 We do late May.
00:27:44 I think I'm going, I'm going to be in Paris when the US play US plays and it's going to
00:27:51 be in beat verse Joker Joker.
00:27:52 The one, the one day that I'm there that us plays.
00:27:55 What?
00:27:56 Yeah.
00:27:57 Are you going to wait?
00:27:58 I forgot him beat plays for us.
00:27:59 Yes.
00:28:00 That's kind of weird.
00:28:01 He plays for us.
00:28:02 I love it.
00:28:03 I'll be fighting.
00:28:04 I'll be fighting that fight from the front lines and in France, you'd be the big U a
00:28:07 big USA guy for, but not really because who you think there's going to be a lot of, like
00:28:12 it'd be better if it was us versus France.
00:28:17 It's what?
00:28:19 It'd be better if it was USA versus France, but it's USA, but it's MB verse Joker.
00:28:24 You're just, okay.
00:28:25 So MB probably won't be playing.
00:28:26 No.
00:28:27 Hopefully.
00:28:28 Wait, is the game in, is the game in altitude?
00:28:30 No.
00:28:31 Zero altitude.
00:28:32 I don't know the Paris, France.
00:28:34 Let's see.
00:28:35 I can't be zero altitude.
00:28:36 Is it in Paris?
00:28:37 Let's see.
00:28:38 Paris.
00:28:39 I don't think it's actually in, I think, Oh, you better hope it's not in the, 115
00:28:42 feet above sea level.
00:28:43 Where's the game?
00:28:45 Are you going to go to the game?
00:28:47 Yes.
00:28:48 Oh, okay.
00:28:49 If I can get to, I gotta figure out how to get tickets.
00:28:51 Game time.
00:28:52 Game time.
00:28:53 Shout out game time.
00:28:54 Game time.
00:28:55 Matt.
00:28:56 Where's the game, Max?
00:28:57 Because if, if it's more than 300, 400 feet altitude, there's no chance and beat shows
00:29:01 up.
00:29:02 If that game's in Burgundy, you're fucked.
00:29:05 Okay.
00:29:06 He's getting it.
00:29:07 He's getting the sky.
00:29:08 I forgot we had this summer.
00:29:11 That's going to rock.
00:29:13 The schedule might not be out yet.
00:29:14 Oh no.
00:29:15 Cause they got to do like pools.
00:29:16 No, it is.
00:29:17 It is.
00:29:18 Cause I looked at it.
00:29:19 You remember we learned about the Olympics cause they did the sex bed thing.
00:29:20 The no sex.
00:29:21 Yes, that's exactly how we found out about it.
00:29:24 You're right.
00:29:25 June 20th.
00:29:26 Wait, fuck.
00:29:27 Why am I in Arizona basketball?
00:29:29 All right.
00:29:30 So wait, Max, is this, is this pool play that we're talking about here?
00:29:34 This is going to be, this should just be a segment of max tries to Google.
00:29:38 Is this pool play?
00:29:39 It's a pool.
00:29:40 It's a pool game of a USA versus Slovenia or whatever.
00:29:44 Serbia, Serbia.
00:29:45 If it's pool, I hope that the U S is already won and locked up our spot in the pool and
00:29:50 that Lily and B found it.
00:29:53 I just said it.
00:29:55 Lily, Lily, Lily, Lily.
00:29:59 You better figure that out.
00:30:01 Oh, I, L L E.
00:30:03 That's maybe the worst city for a Philadelphia and to try to pronounce.
00:30:07 Lily, Lily, Lily, Lily.
00:30:10 It is a 82 to 147 meters.
00:30:14 That's pretty, pretty big.
00:30:15 Okay.
00:30:16 So a hundred, that's like 300 feet.
00:30:19 Yeah.
00:30:20 That's almost, um, almost a 10th of a mile high almost.
00:30:23 So he'll probably not play.
00:30:24 Yeah.
00:30:25 That would be funny if he just, if he was, if he was like, um, load management for the
00:30:29 Olympics.
00:30:30 Yeah.
00:30:31 Especially if you've got tickets to it.
00:30:34 All right.
00:30:35 Do we have anything else before we do?
00:30:36 We're going to do a little bit of a recap of the week.
00:30:37 Hey Hank, any thoughts on WNBA?
00:30:39 No, I thought, I thought the, uh, the cheering for the hit was, was, was the craziest part
00:30:44 of the whole thing.
00:30:45 Agree.
00:30:46 They're jealous.
00:30:47 They're very jealous.
00:30:48 Anyone who pretends they're not jealous is crazy, but that's part of sports is being
00:30:52 jealousy.
00:30:53 I'm more likely to watch the next time they play.
00:30:55 Correct.
00:30:56 And I do think that they should, I, I, I absolutely believe they should have to answer to it and
00:31:00 be like, Hey, we're jealous.
00:31:01 Yeah.
00:31:02 They should say all the reasons they're pissed off.
00:31:04 They should be real about it.
00:31:05 But, but acting like a Caitlin Clark is a, was got like maimed is, is pretty insane to
00:31:11 me.
00:31:12 Yeah.
00:31:13 It was a hip check.
00:31:14 Not, not super, super hard.
00:31:15 Yeah.
00:31:16 They retroactively upped it to a flagrant one after the fact.
00:31:18 Got it.
00:31:19 And then I think they find Angel Reese a thousand bucks.
00:31:21 That's a lot of money.
00:31:22 Not talking to the media.
00:31:23 Yeah.
00:31:24 That's a lot of money.

00:33:59 Hank.
00:34:00 My Who's Back of the Week is Common Men.
00:34:04 Oh, good.
00:34:06 In the golf tournament this weekend, Fluff, the legendary caddy Fluff, he got injured
00:34:13 on the third hole.
00:34:14 I think he fell down.
00:34:15 I love caddy injuries.
00:34:16 The golfer CT Pan just grabbed a random guy from the crowd and he carried the bag for
00:34:20 the rest of the day.
00:34:21 That's just a legendary common man move.
00:34:24 Just like, "Yeah, I'll take the bag."
00:34:25 Why don't we have emergency caddies like we do with the eBug in hockey?
00:34:31 Because this never happens.
00:34:33 Yeah, but it just happened.
00:34:35 It's not about it never happening.
00:34:37 It's like every round, they should pick out the spectators before the game happens and
00:34:42 just assign however many, like 70 different spectators.
00:34:46 If this guy goes down, you're stepping in.
00:34:48 So that person has to just be at the tournament all day thinking, "I might get in."
00:34:51 Well, this guy, he was perfect.
00:34:53 He was perfect.
00:34:54 You could just see that guy.
00:34:56 He could carry a bag, no problem, Haas.
00:34:59 But I'm saying before a tournament starts, let's just put three dudes with cankles into
00:35:07 like a horse barn and just have them standing there with their polo on ready to go.
00:35:12 This guy was just central casting.
00:35:15 He is built like a man who can carry a golf bag around for a long time.
00:35:20 But yeah, put them in a horse barn, do a live shot to them every now and then.
00:35:26 These caddies are ready to go.
00:35:27 You think he was trying to give them reads?
00:35:28 Yeah, do you think they asked him, "Have you played this before?"
00:35:31 I love the handshake.
00:35:32 Do we know how it happened, like how he picked this guy out?
00:35:35 I think he just grabbed-
00:35:36 This thing does not fit.
00:35:37 He's trying to get it to fit.
00:35:38 I think he just grabbed the guy from the crowd.
00:35:40 Yeah, they said, "Sir, you look like you can carry a bag."
00:35:42 And they did.
00:35:43 They picked a perfect guy.
00:35:44 Yeah, if I were him, I'd keep my mouth shut on like the first two holes.
00:35:48 And then if he got a couple birdies, I would start tossing this over the ice.
00:35:51 Remember, Jerry did this on the Corn Fairy Tour with Quade Cummings.
00:35:53 Yeah.
00:35:54 Paul Emerson is the guy's name.
00:35:57 He hails from Ontario.
00:35:59 Was traversing the par four third hole at Hamilton Golf and Country Club when he realized
00:36:03 that CT Pan's caddie Mike Fluff-Cowan had been injured and was unable to continue caddying.
00:36:08 Pan's playing partner Shane Lowery was carrying his own bag, and Lowery's caddie Darren Reynolds
00:36:12 was carrying Pan's bag.
00:36:14 Wow, that's a-
00:36:15 Good move by Lowery.
00:36:16 Wow.
00:36:17 Awesome move.
00:36:18 As Pan was walking Cowan over to a medic on the side of the fairway, Emerson asked Pan
00:36:23 if he could lend a hand.
00:36:24 Oh, so he just asked.
00:36:26 He just picked him out.
00:36:27 He identified him.
00:36:28 Yeah, he said, "I helped Fluff get the bib off, threw it on, and started walking up the
00:36:31 hole."
00:36:32 Pan was grateful for the support, and Emerson took the bag.
00:36:34 He looped through the fifth fairway before a member of the caddie services team, Michael
00:36:38 Campbell, stepped in.
00:36:39 Campbell was replaced by Al Riddle.
00:36:42 What the fuck?
00:36:43 He had two caddies?
00:36:45 It was the head caddy that took over for this guy.
00:36:48 Yeah.
00:36:49 He was like, "I'll get another guy in your bag soon."
00:36:52 That's awesome.
00:36:53 How hard is it to be a replacement caddy?
00:36:54 I feel like a replacement caddy is the easiest job in sports.
00:36:57 We saw Scotty Scheffler's best friend do it on Saturday of the PGA Championship, and he
00:37:01 shot his worst round.
00:37:02 Well, that's because he got arrested the day before.
00:37:04 He shot a 66 with his caddy on Friday after he got arrested.
00:37:08 Yeah, but he said it was a lot of adrenaline.
00:37:11 There's no way that having his best friend caddy didn't fuck him up on that Saturday.
00:37:15 It definitely did a little.
00:37:16 I think, no, but I do think that on Saturday you wake up, you realize what happened.
00:37:19 You probably didn't sleep that well that night.
00:37:21 But he shot like 66 every round except the one that he didn't have his caddy.
00:37:24 I think I would almost take just a no-name, just a random guy like this guy.
00:37:29 I would take this guy over a friend, because a friend, you're probably chopping it up,
00:37:33 you're telling inside jokes.
00:37:35 There's too much history there.
00:37:36 You need a guy that's just going to do the job, and this guy, this man right here, that's
00:37:40 a man that can do the job.
00:37:42 But no, he definitely wasn't giving him reads.
00:37:43 He wasn't helping.
00:37:44 No chance.
00:37:45 I would have just tossed one out there.
00:37:47 Yeah.
00:37:48 Okay, PFT.
00:37:49 All right, good who's back, Hank.
00:37:50 Thanks.
00:37:51 Great who's back.
00:37:52 Appreciate it.
00:37:53 This also in golf news, Kevin James is back, because he's playing John Daly in a mini-series
00:37:59 about John Daly.
00:38:00 Oh, hell yes.
00:38:01 I think Kevin James is just living out the dream.
00:38:04 I just want to do sports movies, and I want to play guys that I like to watch on TV.
00:38:08 So he did Sean Payton, now he's doing John Daly.
00:38:11 I actually think that playing John Daly in a movie is more physically draining than being
00:38:16 John Daly in real life.
00:38:18 Like trying to get in that lifestyle.
00:38:19 We tapped into that lifestyle for a little bit.
00:38:21 It wasn't nice.
00:38:23 Last week, that video's coming out Thursday, right Max?
00:38:26 You already have it ready to go, right?
00:38:27 You just have to press the button?
00:38:28 What, the-
00:38:29 John Daly challenge.
00:38:30 Yeah, John Daly challenge.
00:38:31 Yeah.
00:38:32 Yeah, we're working on it.
00:38:34 Yeah, but that's-
00:38:35 That wasn't an answer.
00:38:37 To me, that's a cursed role, playing John Daly.
00:38:39 Not every actor can do that.
00:38:41 I don't care if they're prop cigarettes, I don't care if they're prop ice cold beers.
00:38:45 You're going to put your body through a little bit of hell.
00:38:47 It's like, yeah, it's like Jared Leto.
00:38:49 I would like to see Jared Leto play John Daly and go full method on him.
00:38:52 Is Jared Leto the person you used for method acting?
00:38:55 Well, yeah, because he's the real psycho that everybody hates on scene.
00:38:59 So he's been replaced by Daniel Day-Lewis, because Daniel Day-Lewis was the guy.
00:39:02 He's the guy, but Jared Leto is a real weirdo.
00:39:04 He's the new guy?
00:39:05 He's a weirdo when he does it.
00:39:06 The guy before that was Tom Hagen.
00:39:12 What was his name?
00:39:13 Burt Reynolds.
00:39:14 No, no.
00:39:15 What was the actress' name?
00:39:17 Tom Hanks.
00:39:18 No.
00:39:19 Tom Hagen.
00:39:20 Robert Duvall.
00:39:21 Robert Duvall.
00:39:22 I'm pretty sure Robert Duvall.
00:39:23 He's method?
00:39:24 I think he was method, because he ... Was he the coach in the program?
00:39:29 I think so.
00:39:30 Yeah.
00:39:31 I'm pretty sure he was-
00:39:32 There's a ... Yeah, Daniel Day-Lewis, big method guy.
00:39:36 Jared Leto, he's just an asshole method guy.
00:39:38 And then the guy that plays Kendall Roy.
00:39:41 Robert Duvall is not a method actor.
00:39:42 Okay, no.
00:39:43 It's the other guy, Sonny.
00:39:46 Give me Sonny.
00:39:47 Al Pacino?
00:39:48 No.
00:39:49 Wait, what was the last thing you said there?
00:39:50 Jeremy Strong, the guy from- Yes.
00:39:51 He's a psycho.
00:39:52 ... "Procession."
00:39:53 He's a psycho method actor.
00:39:54 But I think that if either one of those two guys tried to go method on the John Daly,
00:39:58 tried to get in character as him, I think they'd die before filming.
00:40:01 Yes.
00:40:02 James Caan.
00:40:03 James Caan, I believe.
00:40:04 I don't know if he was method acting, because he was the coach in the program.
00:40:08 He was also the dad and elf.
00:40:10 Yeah, that was method acting, as far as I can tell.
00:40:13 Method acting.
00:40:15 Caan signed up for ... Learned the method, and stayed for five years.
00:40:20 I don't know if that means it.
00:40:21 I don't think he's a method ... The new Google searches are terrible.
00:40:25 Yeah.
00:40:26 Oh, the AI?
00:40:27 They're so bad, dude.
00:40:28 They're really bad.
00:40:29 Do you see that one where someone was like, "Can cockroaches live inside your penis?"
00:40:31 And it's like, "Yes, it's very healthy to have a couple cockroaches living in your penis."
00:40:35 We won't eat the bugs.
00:40:36 That's bullshit.
00:40:37 Well, if it's inside your penis, Hank might-
00:40:38 They're trying to get us to eat the bugs.
00:40:40 Hank would be into that.
00:40:41 Yeah, that's true.
00:40:43 Method acting in The Godfather.
00:40:44 Marlon Brando.
00:40:45 Yeah, see?
00:40:47 James Caan.
00:40:48 That was a stupid tangent.
00:40:51 So it's just ... Oh, did you see the picture of Tiger?
00:40:54 I did not see the picture of Tiger.
00:40:55 He looked old.
00:40:56 Tiger is old.
00:40:57 Yeah.
00:40:58 But it's one of those pictures that I think he probably will see and be like, "Fuck.
00:41:03 I got to do something about this hair."
00:41:04 So yeah, you got to-
00:41:05 He was playing poker with Phil Ivey.
00:41:08 You got to cut it.
00:41:09 Tiger's been past that stage for a long time now.
00:41:11 I know.
00:41:12 Long time.
00:41:13 Still looks diesel.
00:41:14 Are we in the trust tree here?
00:41:15 Yeah.
00:41:16 We won't even include this in the pod.
00:41:17 It might be time for me to come home.
00:41:19 Why?
00:41:20 What, shave your head?
00:41:21 Yeah, cut.
00:41:22 You're so far away from shaving your head.
00:41:24 Oh, I don't know, man.
00:41:25 I saw a bad angle the other day.
00:41:26 Of the back?
00:41:27 I saw a bad angle the other day, yeah.
00:41:29 You wear a hat all the time.
00:41:30 Maybe you should just get a hat with the-
00:41:31 The funny hair in it.
00:41:32 Yeah.
00:41:33 The spiky hair.
00:41:34 Yeah.
00:41:35 Maybe I'll have to go see Brian Urlacher.
00:41:36 Yeah.
00:41:37 We'll see.
00:41:38 Something has to change.
00:41:39 Something's changing before football season.
00:41:41 Just keep the hat on.
00:41:42 Yeah, but then it's bad.
00:41:43 Then it's worse when you take the hat off.
00:41:45 I think that's not hot.
00:41:46 I also, so I was in an airport a couple weeks ago and there was a guy that was in front
00:41:49 of me.
00:41:50 He was about my height.
00:41:51 He had about my length hair.
00:41:52 He was maybe five years older than me.
00:41:55 Okay.
00:41:56 He was with long hair.
00:41:58 And I was standing behind him the entire time just thinking to myself, "I'm never going
00:42:01 to-
00:42:02 But he looks sweet.
00:42:04 Maybe to himself.
00:42:05 Okay.
00:42:06 But I don't think, I think everybody else was like, "That guy needs to do something about
00:42:09 that.
00:42:10 I'm not going to get- Oh yeah, Tiger does.
00:42:12 Yep."
00:42:13 I mean, he looks jacked up though.
00:42:15 He looks super strong.
00:42:16 I have a question.
00:42:19 And this is not, I want on the record, we love Charlie Woods.
00:42:22 Tiger, if you ever want to come on the podcast, we'd love to have you on the podcast.
00:42:28 Did Tiger ever do steroids?
00:42:31 You think?
00:42:32 Why doesn't it get talked about though?
00:42:37 Everybody was like, "Man, this guy is just built like an NFL safety."
00:42:40 I know, but no one says it.
00:42:41 No one says it.
00:42:42 Just out of respect for him?
00:42:43 Is it deference?
00:42:44 He definitely used it to come back from stuff for sure.
00:42:47 Yeah, I know.
00:42:48 Oh, there you go.
00:42:49 You did.
00:42:50 You had a, I mean, he definitely did it.
00:42:52 And also his whole body type changed.
00:42:54 Yeah, I forgot we did an entire macro dosing on that.
00:42:58 Yep, it has been talked about.
00:42:59 Okay.
00:43:00 All right, there you go.
00:43:01 He's definitely, he's maybe used steroids.
00:43:04 I think he, without a doubt, 100% used HGH to come back from injuries.
00:43:10 I like this.
00:43:11 Maybe this is the summer of getting all of our goats, Secretariat, Tiger Woods.
00:43:15 Yeah.
00:43:16 They all use steroids.
00:43:18 That's fine.
00:43:19 Because did they even have testing?
00:43:22 Tiger Woods people told us to shut up about his steroid use, XPJ star claims.
00:43:27 Oh, well that sounds like it's very reputable.
00:43:31 Yeah.
00:43:32 Not even Tiger Woods, his people?
00:43:34 I mean, you've never seen a golfer as strong as Tiger before.
00:43:37 No.
00:43:38 Bryson.
00:43:39 And his body just complete, his body completely changed and then his body completely betrayed
00:43:43 him.
00:43:44 Yeah.
00:43:45 And I know the whole Navy Seals thing.
00:43:46 I know that whole story.
00:43:47 But yeah.
00:43:48 Do you think Bryson used gear?
00:43:50 Yeah, like Tiger is just as crazy of a before after as Barry Bonds.
00:43:57 Yeah.
00:43:58 Pirates Barry Bonds and 49ers Barry Bonds.
00:44:00 Okay, you have any other who's backs?
00:44:03 No, that's my who's back of the week.
00:44:04 Okay.
00:44:05 Why would, yeah, there's no way they test for.
00:44:07 Yeah, I feel like they might've recently brought it in when it became an Olympic sport.
00:44:11 I feel like that always happens, which is the dumbest thing ever.
00:44:14 If I was the PGA, I would never test for any drug.
00:44:17 No.
00:44:18 Although it'd be so funny if a golfer got suspended for smoking weed.
00:44:21 You remember they used to do that at the Olympics.
00:44:22 Yeah.
00:44:23 There was a snowboarder, a snowboarder that got his silver medal taken away because he
00:44:29 tested positive for weed and they asked him about it.
00:44:31 The smart move on this guy's part would just been like, yeah, dude, I'm a fucking snowboarder.
00:44:35 Yeah.
00:44:36 Smoke weed.
00:44:37 Yeah.
00:44:38 But he was like, no, I was at a party two months ago and I think I got some secondhand
00:44:40 inhalation.
00:44:41 Yeah.
00:44:42 And I apologize.
00:44:43 I would never smoke weed.
00:44:44 Yeah, dude, you bored on snow.
00:44:46 You're high all the time.
00:44:47 That's okay.
00:44:48 You're still really good.
00:44:49 Yeah.
00:44:50 That's, that's the one sport you can do that.
00:44:51 Um, all right.
00:44:52 My who's back to the week is Tommy fam.
00:44:54 Tommy fam got into it, uh, with, uh, the brewers and then did a post game press conference
00:45:02 where he said that he trains for this and he will go after anyone who wants to go after
00:45:06 him.
00:45:07 Do you want to, do you want to pull it up max?
00:45:08 I have it right here.
00:45:09 I could play it.
00:45:10 Um, Tommy fam is about that shit.
00:45:14 He don't want to fuck with him.
00:45:15 Tommy fam was one who, who slapped, slapped the fantasy football slap.
00:45:19 All right, listen to this.
00:45:20 This is Tommy fam after the game.
00:45:23 One run ball game, a close play at the plate.
00:45:27 And I actually wasn't even fucking close.
00:45:29 It was a shallow fly ball to left field.
00:45:32 You would expect the left fielder to throw the base runner out on that play.
00:45:35 But the situation of the game, uh, you know, I third base coach sends you, you gotta go.
00:45:43 Um, I'm, I'm nailed out at, at home by a mile.
00:45:48 Um, I'm, I'm going to the dugout and you know, I hear the tough guy with all the who raw
00:45:53 shit, you know, so I'll never start anything, but I'll be prepared to finish it.
00:46:00 There's a reason why, you know, I do all kinds of fighting in the off season because I'm
00:46:04 prepared to fuck somebody up.
00:46:06 Take it as what it is.
00:46:09 Yeah.
00:46:10 It just kept on escalating.
00:46:11 You're like, Oh, this is routine.
00:46:12 I'm like, I'm prepared to fuck somebody up.
00:46:14 I want to know what kind of who rush that this guy was on.
00:46:16 We also had a, in this game.
00:46:19 So I would understand that most of our listeners, not national audience would, would know who
00:46:24 I'm about to talk about, but it's been a big story in Chicago.
00:46:28 Uh, John Shriffin, the, uh, announcer for the white socks might be the worst announcer
00:46:33 ever.
00:46:34 And, uh, he took over for, uh, Benetti, right.
00:46:38 Who went to the tigers?
00:46:39 He went to the tigers.
00:46:40 Uh, wait, did John Shriffin go to Syracuse?
00:46:43 No.
00:46:44 Okay.
00:46:45 Uh, this guy, like he's trying really hard, but it's just, everything is awkward.
00:46:49 So this clip is just so awkward.
00:46:53 If you can play it, Max of him screaming about Tommy fam.
00:46:58 And he's had moments where he, he like said something like suck on that losers.
00:47:02 Uh, even though the white socks are one of the worst teams, so no one's paying attention
00:47:06 to them, but it keeps popping up every now and then.
00:47:09 So this is it.
00:47:10 He needs to drop a, as God as my witness broken him in half.
00:47:13 We ain't taking that.
00:47:14 We ain't taking that.
00:47:15 Uh, he, he and the Oakland A's woman, they are one, two for the worst announcers in major
00:47:21 league baseball.
00:47:22 Jake, what are your thoughts on the white socks announcer?
00:47:24 Uh, what was that face Max?
00:47:26 The JMU baseball game.
00:47:28 Oh, that was so bad.
00:47:31 It was horrible.
00:47:32 That was very bad as well.
00:47:34 What happened there?
00:47:35 The green, he likes greens.
00:47:38 It was bad.
00:47:41 It was bad.
00:47:42 Ready for this.
00:47:43 Oh man.
00:47:44 And the one.
00:47:45 How about that?
00:47:46 What a wild, that's wild.
00:47:47 Put that on the wild man.
00:47:52 Jake is, is uncomfortable right now where the direction of this, of this podcast in
00:47:57 this moment.
00:47:58 It was Hawking broadcast.
00:47:59 Yeah.
00:48:00 Yeah.
00:48:01 He taken that.
00:48:02 He taken that.
00:48:03 Also the bruiser like way better.
00:48:05 Yeah.
00:48:06 I like how he just threw in there.
00:48:08 I don't care how many L's we got this year.
00:48:09 No, cause he knows.
00:48:11 Yeah.
00:48:12 He knows that they're, they're very, very bad.
00:48:14 Also how about Tommy fam just completely throwing his third base coach under the bus?
00:48:17 Oh, big time.
00:48:18 Entirely.
00:48:19 But then he kind of, you forget about it by the end when he's just like, I'll fuck him
00:48:22 up.
00:48:23 I'll fuck somebody up.
00:48:24 Fuck somebody.
00:48:25 And if my third base coach tells me something, I'll fuck him up too.
00:48:26 Um, all right.
00:48:27 Uh, Jake, uh, my who's back is Joey chestnut.
00:48:31 Yeah.
00:48:32 Obviously the main event is the 4th of July and we always see the press from the hot dog
00:48:36 eating contests, but we had Joey chestnut taking down some pints of ice cream at a minor
00:48:42 league baseball game.
00:48:43 We don't really see him do other competitions.
00:48:45 So this wasn't even a competition.
00:48:46 I don't think, I think it was just him doing it for fun.
00:48:48 Yeah.
00:48:49 He was just pounding four in a minute.
00:48:52 Pints of ice cream.
00:48:53 You could tell too.
00:48:54 It kind of was giving him some brain freeze.
00:48:56 Yeah.
00:48:57 I mean you, you have to get brain freeze from that much ice cream for sure.
00:48:59 I think he was also eating fried fish too.
00:49:01 Oh, the classic fried fish ice cream.
00:49:04 Oh, is that real?
00:49:06 Yeah.
00:49:07 That was the combo.
00:49:08 Yeah.
00:49:09 He was, he, I think it was fried walleye.
00:49:10 Oh man.
00:49:11 So this is like the preseason for him I guess.
00:49:14 Yeah.
00:49:15 He's got to warm up.
00:49:16 All right.
00:49:17 So what happened was he ate four pints of ice cream in 60 seconds and then he ate 36
00:49:22 nuggets of fried walleye in 60 seconds.
00:49:25 Oh, that's not good on the stomach.
00:49:27 I hope he was dived up.
00:49:29 I feel like that's just going to cut right through you.
00:49:32 He is.
00:49:34 That's insane.
00:49:35 So what, say it again.
00:49:37 He ate 36 fried walleye nuggets in one minute and that's, I believe right after he ate the
00:49:43 four pints of ice cream.
00:49:44 Oh man.
00:49:45 Yeah.
00:49:46 You'd want to do it reverse I think.
00:49:47 Yeah.
00:49:48 You eat the fried first.
00:49:49 Yeah.
00:49:50 Get the ice cream to cool you down.
00:49:51 Exactly.
00:49:52 Try to trick your body a little bit.
00:49:53 Yeah.
00:49:54 Also, did you guys see the story about this D three school?
00:49:56 Yeah.
00:49:57 The baseball team.
00:49:58 Yeah.
00:49:59 We talked about it on Friday, but they, they made it to the college world.
00:50:02 Yeah.
00:50:03 Three and they lost.
00:50:04 They lost.
00:50:05 They won on a walk off the other night.
00:50:06 Yeah.
00:50:07 To stay alive.
00:50:08 They weren't really a school, right?
00:50:09 It no longer been a school.
00:50:10 Yeah.
00:50:11 Yeah.
00:50:12 A few days ago.
00:50:13 Yeah.
00:50:14 But they still had the baseball season.
00:50:15 Yeah.
00:50:16 I don't understand how they couldn't have just added whoever they wanted.
00:50:18 Yeah.
00:50:19 Really?
00:50:20 You're not a school anymore.
00:50:21 Right.
00:50:22 Like Barry Bond should have been, it should have been Homer at the bat.
00:50:23 Yeah, absolutely.
00:50:24 Recruit anybody that you can.
00:50:25 And when they got kicked off the team.
00:50:27 Yeah.
00:50:28 That would kind of rock to be just like, we are the school now.
00:50:31 Yeah.
00:50:32 Like this is our school.
00:50:33 Did you guys also see this as a random story, but I saw someone noted that Jim McElwain,
00:50:38 which you know, we know Jim McElwain, central Michigan, not a shark fucker.
00:50:43 Apparently he's got a lifetime sponsorship with Coors Light.
00:50:45 Lifetime.
00:50:46 Yeah.
00:50:47 We need to get on that.
00:50:48 Pretty, pretty sick.
00:50:49 They provide them with a Coors Light vending machine inside his house.
00:50:52 That's awesome.
00:50:53 Monthly.
00:50:54 That's awesome.
00:50:55 That's great.
00:50:56 We should get on that.
00:50:57 What a bad ass.
00:50:58 Lifetime sponsorship.
00:50:59 Yeah.
00:51:00 We need that vending machine.
00:51:01 Let's do it.
00:51:02 We're going to do an interview with CJ McCollum and then we will do lottery ball and some
00:51:05 wrap up after that.
00:51:07 We're going to get to CJ McCollum in a second.
00:51:09 Before we do, he's brought to you by game time.

00:51:22 Yep.
00:51:23 It's the red line series.

00:51:34 Good price.
00:51:35 You know what?
00:51:36 I was just talking to Mark Titus about this the other day.
00:51:39 At some point, I don't care who's playing.
00:51:41 I just want to go to an afternoon Friday game at Wrigley Field.
00:51:44 Yes.
00:51:45 Stolen time.

00:52:54 And now here's CJ McCollum.
00:52:56 Okay.
00:52:57 We now welcome on a very special guest, recurring guest, a guest who we should have had on a
00:53:03 lot sooner since the last time we had him on, because I think it was like a highly acclaimed
00:53:10 this guy rocks interview that we did.
00:53:13 It is CJ McCollum from the CJ McCollum show from the NBA.
00:53:17 He plays for the Pelicans now.
00:53:19 Last time we had him on, he was on the Blazers.
00:53:22 But CJ, I want to start by apologizing.
00:53:25 Bad job by us because the first time you were on, everyone's like, we love CJ McCollum.
00:53:29 I still get the Hezzy Hay tweets.
00:53:33 So this was a bad job, but I'm happy that you're back on.
00:53:35 We can talk about the finals and talk about some ball.
00:53:38 I'm happy to be back on.
00:53:39 I mean, that was a good time.
00:53:40 That was a really good time in my life too.
00:53:42 We were in the city.
00:53:43 I was young.
00:53:44 I was on the Blazers.
00:53:45 And now it's a good time in my life.
00:53:48 I'm a little older, I'm in New Orleans and I get stopped in the street when I'm in the
00:53:52 city.
00:53:53 People are Eurostaffing me hitting with Hezzy.
00:53:54 You got to go back on.
00:53:55 You got to go back on the pod.
00:53:56 I'm like, eventually I'm going to get back on man, for sure.
00:54:00 Yeah.
00:54:01 The step back to freedom.
00:54:02 That was another one.
00:54:03 The step back to freedom.
00:54:04 That was another good one.
00:54:05 Yeah.
00:54:06 The people love CJ McCollum and you're a wine mogul too.
00:54:07 Yeah.
00:54:08 I try, man.
00:54:09 I try my best.
00:54:10 You see me sipping some Chardonnay right now.
00:54:11 For those that don't know, this is a free promo, baby.
00:54:15 There we go.
00:54:16 It's at www.cjmccollum.com.
00:54:17 I'm sipping some Chardonnay right now.
00:54:18 We got Rosé, Chardonnay, Pinot, Blondé, Blanc, whatever you like.
00:54:22 Maybe you can educate me because I'm not much of a Chardonnay guy.
00:54:24 I'm more of like a Mad Dog 2020 guy myself, but I'll drink any kind of wine.
00:54:29 But I always say, don't give me the Chardonnay because I don't like the oakiness to it.
00:54:33 What's a good Fisher Price, my first Chardonnay?
00:54:36 I can just send you one to keep it a buck with you.
00:54:38 But I think the cool thing about Chardonnay is it's an acquired taste.
00:54:42 I didn't like Chardonnay for a long time.
00:54:45 We were in the bubble and Mello had some white burgundy.
00:54:47 Mello was like, "Yo, you got to try this white burgundy."
00:54:50 I'm like, "Mello, I like Pinots.
00:54:52 I like cabs.
00:54:53 I like bubbles.
00:54:54 I like Rosé, but I'm not messing with Chardonnay."
00:54:56 He's like, "You got to try this white burgundy."
00:54:57 I tried the white burgundy and it was so fire.
00:54:59 I was like, "I got to continue to figure out ways to try Chardonnays that are similar to
00:55:05 this."
00:55:06 Then I ended up making a Chardonnay in partnership with Adelstein that is more reminiscent of
00:55:09 white burgundy.
00:55:10 It's light, it's oaky, it's smooth.
00:55:13 Living in New Orleans is mad hot.
00:55:16 So figuring out the balance between when to drink Pinot and when to drink more refreshing
00:55:20 drinks like Chard and Rosé.
00:55:23 It's not for everybody, but if you drink the right Chard, it'll change your life.
00:55:26 All right.
00:55:27 I might have to try.
00:55:28 Yeah.
00:55:29 All right.
00:55:30 That's awesome that you're a father now too, so congrats on that.
00:55:33 Yeah.
00:55:34 A lot has changed.
00:55:35 A wine mogul.
00:55:37 We wanted to have you on Talk a Little Ball, Talk a Little Finals.
00:55:40 Let's start with your, do you have an official prediction?
00:55:43 Then we can kind of unpack from there and figure out how you got there and how both
00:55:48 these teams got there.
00:55:50 Yeah.
00:55:51 Yeah.
00:55:52 I was talking to a good friend of mine, Coach Weiss, who coached me at Lehigh yesterday
00:55:55 while I was pushing the stroller crazy.
00:55:57 I got two kids and I'm married and life is good.
00:56:00 I thought to myself, "This is going to be a great finals.
00:56:02 I got to get to a game.
00:56:03 I got to get to a game in Boston.
00:56:05 I got to try to get to a game in Dallas."
00:56:07 I think it's Boston series to lose.
00:56:10 I think it's their series to lose.
00:56:11 Chris Tapp should be back.
00:56:13 They've had the best record all year.
00:56:14 They got the Jays, Jason and Jalen.
00:56:18 They got great role players.
00:56:20 They got great supporting cast.
00:56:22 They got a coach who's fiery.
00:56:23 I love Peyton Pritchard.
00:56:25 I think it's their series to lose.
00:56:27 Now, I will say this though.
00:56:28 I think Boston wins in six, but if it's a one possession game, give me Dallas.
00:56:34 Yeah.
00:56:35 Yeah.
00:56:36 Boston's got to win by two, three possessions.
00:56:37 They got to have a lead.
00:56:39 They got to have a comfortable lead.
00:56:41 By comfortable, I mean multiple possessions or they're in trouble because Luka and Kyrie
00:56:44 are not to be played with.
00:56:45 Yeah.
00:56:46 Yeah.
00:56:47 What is it about Luka?
00:56:48 We actually, I think everyone in this room has, I think I have Boston in seven, PFT has
00:56:54 five, Hank has six, but what is it about Luka that makes him so impossible to guard?
00:57:00 Because you've obviously played against him.
00:57:03 What specifically does he do that is so elite compared to anyone else on the court?
00:57:09 I think it's a combination of things, man.
00:57:11 He's heavy, right?
00:57:13 With respect to the heavy people out there, he's got good size.
00:57:18 That's a nice way of saying fat.
00:57:20 He's heavy.
00:57:21 Yeah, no, but respect all.
00:57:22 We do have heavy listeners.
00:57:23 No, but heavy, heavy's like Drew Holiday is a great defender.
00:57:27 Drew Holiday cannot, I don't think, can guard Luka for the entire series because he's, Luka's
00:57:31 heavy.
00:57:32 Luka is heavy, man, and he's a good, healthy heavy, strong, sturdy.
00:57:37 He's still quick.
00:57:38 He has a great change of speed, great balance, great patience, amazing step back, and he's
00:57:44 not afraid of the moment.
00:57:45 I think what a lot of people don't realize is Luka turned pro at 13.
00:57:49 Luka's been playing pro since he was a middle schooler, basically.
00:57:52 He skipped a lot of steps compared to what we do in the States, and he began hitting
00:57:56 big shots at 14, 15, 16 years old, led his team to a EuroLeague championship as a youngster,
00:58:01 right?
00:58:02 He's not afraid of the moment.
00:58:04 He's not afraid of the bright lights.
00:58:06 He loves it.
00:58:07 They play better on the road because I think he likes tormenting the crowd, and I just
00:58:11 think from a versatility standpoint, he's like 6'8".
00:58:14 I don't know his weight.
00:58:15 I mean, he's got to be at least 245, maybe heavier, healthy body, fat, and he's in great
00:58:22 shape, and I think that's the thing that a lot of people didn't realize is Luka is heavy,
00:58:26 hard to guard.
00:58:27 He can lean on you.
00:58:28 He can post you up.
00:58:29 He can lean on his back and make different types of moves around the paint area.
00:58:32 He loves to step back.
00:58:33 He's going to hunt matchups, but he's in great shape.
00:58:35 He's hitting big shots down the stretch of four quarters, high usage.
00:58:39 First quarters are basically his.
00:58:41 Kai takes over second and third, and then it's take turns in the fourth, but I mean,
00:58:46 he's a wizard with the ball.
00:58:47 He's going to have high volume, and there's a reason why he averaged 35 points a game,
00:58:51 nine rebounds, nine assists, basically 35, 10, and nine.
00:58:54 He can control the entire game for four quarters.
00:58:58 - Yeah, yeah.
00:58:59 He's also very good at drawing fouls, too.
00:59:01 He draws contact in a very, very smart way that I don't think a lot of players are on
00:59:05 his same level in terms of knowing when he's about to get fouled, getting them off balance,
00:59:10 and then using that while still maintaining his own shot form as best as he can to try
00:59:15 to get a three-point play out of it.
00:59:17 Sometimes you see guys that set up the foul, but he sets it up in a way where he makes
00:59:21 sure that he has a good look at the basket after he gets fouled, too.
00:59:24 Is that something that you know going into it?
00:59:27 He's going to try to get you off balance?
00:59:28 - Yeah, it's like a running joke.
00:59:30 Him and B, a lot of those guys, they start the game with eight to 10 points, right?
00:59:34 You know they're going to have eight to 10 free throws.
00:59:36 They basically establish rhythm early.
00:59:37 You can't touch them.
00:59:38 They manipulate the defense the entire game.
00:59:41 They can get you on their hip.
00:59:42 They got pump fakes.
00:59:43 They got pivots.
00:59:44 They got pump fakes.
00:59:45 They got pivots.
00:59:46 Over and over again as the game progresses, and then it's about game plan and discipline
00:59:50 when you're going against those types of guys, and you can't get frustrated on tough makes.
00:59:55 It's a make or miss league, and there's going to be a lot of tough makes throughout the
00:59:57 game.
00:59:58 There's going to be a lot of questionable situations in which he's maybe foul baiting
01:00:02 or whatever they like to call it, quote unquote, but he's a smart player.
01:00:06 He knows how to get what he wants out there, and once he gets you off balance, it's all
01:00:11 she wrote.
01:00:12 - Yeah.
01:00:13 - And obviously, they've got two great players.
01:00:15 The two guards are going to be impossible to stop both of them.
01:00:18 You just can't do it.
01:00:19 Like you said, you have to build a lead, not let them get to a late game situation where
01:00:23 they can put the ball in one or two guys' hands and win it, but in terms of the role
01:00:27 players on Dallas, who do you think is the most important outside of Kyrie and Luka?
01:00:33 - I like Derek Lively.
01:00:34 I mean, obviously, they got other guys.
01:00:36 T.J.
01:00:37 Washington has been great.
01:00:38 Gaffney has been great.
01:00:39 I think this may be a Tim Hardaway Jr. series, but if you really look at the last series
01:00:48 in terms of what changed the game, it was their ability to defend.
01:00:52 Obviously, switching one through four, sometimes one through five, Kyrie was great defensively,
01:00:56 but Lively really was amazing, right?
01:00:58 I think he didn't miss a shot in the conference finals.
01:01:02 He altered tons of shots.
01:01:03 He continues to put rim pressure on the defense by his ability to roll and get behind the
01:01:07 defense and pick and rolls.
01:01:08 When Luka and Ky come off, he always finds himself behind the defense.
01:01:11 If they switch, he makes them pay with lobs and offensive rebounds, but I think he's a
01:01:15 huge, huge piece because not only is he great at finishing around the basket, but he makes
01:01:19 great decisions in the pick and roll when they hit him in the pocket.
01:01:22 He's one of the best on their team at figuring out when to drive, when to go weak side and
01:01:26 kind of connect.
01:01:27 He made a killing throughout this playoffs on just playing smart basketball and being
01:01:31 athletic.
01:01:32 Yeah.
01:01:33 All right.
01:01:34 Then the Celtics, it does feel like they're the favorite, but it's kind of twisted into
01:01:40 they can say they're the underdog just because people are like, "Hey, look, they had no one
01:01:45 to play in the East.
01:01:46 They ran through it.
01:01:48 They haven't been tested," so to speak.
01:01:50 I still think they're the better team, but is there anything to say for the fact that
01:01:54 they haven't had that tough playoff series where they've been pushed to make some changes
01:02:01 and counteract and like, "All right, you threw this at us.
01:02:04 Now we got to throw this at you."
01:02:06 Is there any reality to that or is that just completely overstated and it doesn't matter
01:02:10 they've handled their business?
01:02:12 I think it's completely overstated for them mainly because of the fact that they've all
01:02:16 been there before outside of the guys in rotation.
01:02:20 This team has been to the conference finals five out of the last seven years.
01:02:22 They were in the finals two years ago.
01:02:24 They had a lead on the champion Warriors and their experience.
01:02:30 They know what it takes to win a series.
01:02:32 They know what it takes to lose a series.
01:02:34 It's not like shell shock, like, "Oh my goodness, we're in the finals.
01:02:37 Oh, I've never seen this before."
01:02:38 They've been here before and the second time around is when you really earn your stripes.
01:02:42 The first time around, it's all new.
01:02:44 It's fresh.
01:02:45 You're trying to figure out the balance between tickets for family, going through all of that
01:02:48 stuff.
01:02:49 Not that I've played in it, but I've been to the finals and I see how much media is
01:02:53 credentialed.
01:02:54 I see how many interviews they got to do.
01:02:56 It's open practices.
01:02:59 It's like the Super Bowl.
01:03:00 It's a big show up until the game.
01:03:02 I think if you're not used to it, it can be mentally and physically draining.
01:03:05 I think they've all trained for it.
01:03:07 They all have a better understanding of how they had to prepare for this.
01:03:10 They got a champion on their team in Drew Holiday.
01:03:14 Eric White played for the Spurs.
01:03:16 He's been across the league.
01:03:17 He's mature.
01:03:18 The Jays, obviously.
01:03:19 Chris Stapps-Sporzingis has played all across Europe.
01:03:22 He's been in the NBA.
01:03:23 He hasn't played in a real big playoff moment like this, but I think playing with all those
01:03:29 guys, it's helpful.
01:03:31 I really don't think it matters.
01:03:32 If anything, they're just going to be more fresh, more ready to go, home court advantage.
01:03:36 The Jitters will be gone by the first time out, like Draymond said.
01:03:40 Is there any sort of advantage that they're going to get because Chris Stapps hasn't played
01:03:43 in a long time?
01:03:44 Dallas doesn't have any fresh tape on him.
01:03:47 Is that going to make any difference whatsoever?
01:03:49 They haven't seen that look in the last couple weeks.
01:03:52 That's a good point.
01:03:54 I think it's a coin flip, right?
01:03:59 Ballston has played well without guys all year.
01:04:01 They've been without Sporzingis.
01:04:03 They've been without Drew Holiday at times.
01:04:07 They figured out a way to just keep moving.
01:04:10 Al Horford is a vet.
01:04:11 He's a pro.
01:04:12 He's going to figure it out.
01:04:13 He's going to hit big shots.
01:04:14 He's going to defend.
01:04:15 I'm really just worried about Chris Stapps because he hasn't played in so long.
01:04:17 He's just jumping into the finals.
01:04:19 If you really think about that, that's the part that's going to be interesting.
01:04:22 I'm not talking about offensively.
01:04:23 I'm talking about defensively, conditioning-wise, having to guard Kyrie and Luka in switches
01:04:28 constantly.
01:04:29 Everybody talks about Kyrie's return to Boston, which is great.
01:04:33 It's going to be fun to see the response that he gets and how he plays through that.
01:04:39 Luka and Sporzingis played together and it didn't go well.
01:04:42 I think if you know anything about Luka, he takes things very personally and this is a
01:04:48 chance for him to really beat a guy he played with and wasn't able to necessarily get over
01:04:54 the hump with.
01:04:55 Yeah.
01:04:56 All right.
01:04:57 The injury thing is an interesting one because we're sitting on our couch.
01:05:01 We're idiots.
01:05:02 I'm always like, "Oh, why do they need ... " They've been practicing all ... Chris Stapps
01:05:07 has been practicing for the last two weeks.
01:05:08 He should be fine.
01:05:09 But what is the difference in between, if you're coming back from injury, practicing
01:05:14 and then getting into actual game minutes and how quickly you get tired when you make
01:05:20 that transition?
01:05:21 Yeah, it's tough.
01:05:22 I've been fortunate or not so fortunate to have some injuries, but been able to come
01:05:27 back from them and transition into return to play.
01:05:29 It's difficult for everybody.
01:05:32 It's one thing to return to play in a regular season game.
01:05:36 It's another thing to return to play in the playoffs and it's a whole other level up to
01:05:40 return to play in the finals where no matter what type of conditioning you're getting,
01:05:44 no matter what type of live contact you're getting, those stakes aren't the same.
01:05:50 You can't simulate a switch with Luka going against the backups in Boston or going against
01:05:57 the coaching staff or the player development staff in a conditioning league game where
01:06:02 it's basically a lot of guys that are in the rotation and then you're going mixing in some
01:06:06 coaches.
01:06:07 You're getting switched on to Kyrie on the main stage for all the marbles for the 18th
01:06:12 banner in Boston.
01:06:14 This is completely, there's no comparison.
01:06:17 I think he'll be fine because he's a pro and he's had a lot of time to adjust.
01:06:22 The way he plays, he shoots jumpers, he posts up a little bit, he dunks.
01:06:25 They got a lot of help.
01:06:26 It's not like they're just going to say, "Chris Stapps, go win us the game."
01:06:28 He's going to be playing on a good team and playing a role.
01:06:31 That'll make things easier, but it's just difficult to translate.
01:06:34 I think it's going to take some time from a rhythm standpoint.
01:06:36 Also for Boston's rotation, they just went through two series or three series without
01:06:40 them.
01:06:41 The rotation was set.
01:06:43 Guys are playing heavy minutes.
01:06:44 Starters are playing basically 40.
01:06:45 Al Horford was great.
01:06:46 He hit seven threes in one of those games.
01:06:48 They're going to have to change the rotation.
01:06:50 I'm just curious to see how the players respond to that from a rhythm standpoint as they were
01:06:54 used to something and now there's going to be a little change.
01:06:57 If you're coming back from injury and your conditioning isn't to the point where it should
01:07:01 be if you had played an entire season without this time off, what does that look like in
01:07:05 a game?
01:07:06 I'm not talking about putting your hand up and being like, "Coach, take me out for a
01:07:09 little bit.
01:07:10 I'm tired."
01:07:11 I assume that guys, if they're in the NBA Finals, a lot of times they want to stay in
01:07:13 the game no matter what.
01:07:15 What does that look like for a player when they're getting tired?
01:07:17 What's the first thing that goes?
01:07:20 For me, if I'm playing pickup, I just kind of stop guarding.
01:07:24 I just kind of stop playing defense entirely.
01:07:26 I hope that my guy doesn't run around too much.
01:07:28 Or I'll be like, "Hey, I got to tie my shoe."
01:07:31 That sort of thing.
01:07:32 What does that look like in a game?
01:07:34 It's actually Larry just stalling.
01:07:37 Similar in the NBA, right?
01:07:41 More turnovers, bad passes, bad misses.
01:07:44 Instead of a close miss, they're just bad.
01:07:46 Airballs, wide left, wide right, super long, longer timeouts, dumb fouls.
01:07:53 People just start to see, "Oh, that was a stupid play.
01:07:56 Oh, he must be tired."
01:07:57 The fatigue is kind of kicking in.
01:07:59 I think historically, especially when you get to this stage, when you're coming off
01:08:02 an injury, you're either on a minute's restriction or they change the substitution pattern.
01:08:08 When I came back from an injury, I had a collapsed lung, I've had a broken foot, broken back,
01:08:14 torn popliteus.
01:08:15 You usually know, "All right, I got a four-minute stretch right here where they're going to
01:08:19 play me four minutes and then I'm coming out.
01:08:21 I'm first coming out.
01:08:22 First foul, first timeout, whatever, I'm coming out."
01:08:24 When you come back from an injury, you have to govern yourself.
01:08:28 The way you look at it, a couple times this year, I came back against the Sixers and I
01:08:32 was on a minute restriction and I was like, "I'm good.
01:08:34 Let me go."
01:08:35 It was like, "No, it's 26 minutes."
01:08:36 I'm like, "No, I'm good."
01:08:38 I played a six and a half or seven-minute stretch and it was supposed to be five.
01:08:42 At the six-minute mark, I was like, "Yeah."
01:08:48 Or I was like, "Yo, foul.
01:08:51 I need to come out of this game before I mess this up for everybody."
01:08:58 My move is I just yell, "Someone stop ball," and then I pick up whoever switches and I
01:09:02 just hold their shirt.
01:09:03 I'm just like, "Let's just hang out and not walk all the way back."
01:09:06 It's like, "Don't be a hero, man.
01:09:08 Yeah, let's just hang out here for a second and then we'll get back when we get back."
01:09:13 Who's the one guy in the NBA who has a motor that you can't believe that doesn't come out
01:09:18 of games but also just never gets fatigued?
01:09:23 I would say Steph's got really good conditioning.
01:09:25 He just always running around chewing his mouthpiece.
01:09:28 How annoying is that when he just won't stop running?
01:09:32 Chewing his mouthpiece, laughing, dancing, shimmying in his play.
01:09:35 It's really frustrating, but you can just tell he prides himself on conditioning, hard
01:09:39 work, reps.
01:09:40 I'd say the most, JJ Redick, when JJ played.
01:09:45 The first quarter was insane.
01:09:46 His plays for him, illegal screens from DeAndre, illegal screens from Blake.
01:09:50 He'd be in there, but just give him the ball for five straight minutes, then he would touch
01:09:53 the ball for three quarters.
01:09:57 The one that was super impressive, Russell Westbrook.
01:10:03 Prime Russ when he played 37 to 42 minutes a game, and when he was in triple-double mode,
01:10:10 he played so hard for so long.
01:10:13 It was impressive because he's just rebound, pushing, yelling, screaming.
01:10:18 People don't understand, it takes energy to yell and scream.
01:10:20 A couple times I over-celebrated, and I was like, "Damn, I'm tired.
01:10:24 I shouldn't have did that."
01:10:25 It takes away your energy, but this guy, his motor is unbelievable.
01:10:30 For 82 games, playing in the middle of nowhere, he could be playing a pickup game in the backyard.
01:10:36 His energy is always at a level that's super impressive.
01:10:43 I feel like Luka gets stronger the angrier he gets.
01:10:47 He's expending energy, right?
01:10:48 He's using calories to yell at people, but he feeds off that.
01:10:52 It amps him up.
01:10:53 Yeah, he feeds off that.
01:10:56 Kuka Luka.
01:10:57 I think if you really look at how his career's progressed, he came in baby face, a little
01:11:05 thin.
01:11:06 He started eating good in the neighborhood, and American Football started treating him
01:11:10 well.
01:11:11 Back a couple years where you see him training, running stairs overseas in Slovenia, running
01:11:17 the stairs.
01:11:19 You see his game go to another level in terms of the range on his jumper, the step backs.
01:11:25 Even in that last series against the Timberwolves, he started the game hitting 30 footers.
01:11:29 He was sending the message, "I've really been working on my craft.
01:11:32 I'm really about to just take over this league."
01:11:35 This is an impressive run.
01:11:37 People don't remember, J. Kidd said he was already better than Dirk.
01:11:40 He's 25 years old, and Dirk has the logo.
01:11:42 They got a picture of Dirk shooting a fadeaway on the court, and they're already talking
01:11:47 about he's better than Dirk.
01:11:48 Dirk beat the king.
01:11:49 Yeah.
01:11:50 Yeah.
01:11:51 He could hit powers.
01:11:55 This is telling you how special this kid is.
01:11:58 This man is a real problem, and he's still not really in his prime.
01:12:03 He's only 25.
01:12:04 Yeah, that is true.
01:12:05 It is crazy he's only 25.
01:12:07 Jason Tatum also, what, 26 or 25 as well?
01:12:10 Do you think Jason Tatum's disrespected, or is it that he's right where he needs to be?
01:12:18 This could be the summer of Tatum.
01:12:19 If he wins this championship, and then he's going to go play in the Olympics, and then
01:12:24 I think he's up for the super max right after, this could be a hell of a four month stretch
01:12:30 for Jason Tatum.
01:12:32 This is huge for him and his legacy.
01:12:33 I think he's a Hall of Famer or whatever.
01:12:36 You can more 50 point games than Larry Bird, more career playoff points than Larry Bird,
01:12:41 five straight trips to the conference finals, two finals appearances.
01:12:46 This is the one they'd probably win.
01:12:48 I think he's where he needs to be right now because he doesn't have the ring yet, and
01:12:51 people really value the ring.
01:12:54 Those that are real hoopers, no Tatum is good.
01:12:56 I think the casual fan is anti-Boston.
01:12:59 A lot of people just hate that he plays in Boston and that they have so much respect
01:13:03 and everything that comes with that.
01:13:05 I think if you're a normal fan who really understands the game, or if you hoop against
01:13:08 him, you know Tatum is cold blooded.
01:13:10 You respect him.
01:13:11 You respect Jalen Brown.
01:13:12 You understand that they have a good team.
01:13:15 When you're on a good team, you're held to a higher standard.
01:13:19 They expect you, like he said before, they expect you to basically win every game.
01:13:22 It's almost as if he's supposed to win this championship, as opposed to him going and
01:13:27 taking it.
01:13:28 He's supposed to win, and if he doesn't, he got beat by Luka.
01:13:32 The narrative is going to shift as opposed to saying he had a great year and he won 64
01:13:36 games.
01:13:37 Jalen Brown is the highest paid player in NBA history.
01:13:39 He's about to become the highest paid player in NBA history.
01:13:42 Then you're going to have two of the highest paid players in NBA history on the same team,
01:13:46 banner 18, in Boston, two black guys.
01:13:51 Think about it.
01:13:52 It's a really cool situation for the Celtics and their fan base to be able to say, "We
01:13:58 have a great young core who we weren't sure was going to work.
01:14:02 Now it's working, and we're this close to winning a championship."
01:14:07 The worst thing you can say about them is that Jason doesn't get enough love, but he
01:14:12 just averaged 30 and he was first team all NBA.
01:14:17 What more do you want?
01:14:18 Yeah.
01:14:19 I think it is the dumbest thing we do as sports fans.
01:14:21 I am definitely guilty of it.
01:14:23 I think we all are.
01:14:24 If you play on a better team, you then get taken something away from you where it's like,
01:14:29 "Well, wouldn't you want the best players to play on the best teams?"
01:14:34 I'd rather see that than have an incredible player struggle with just no one on their
01:14:39 team and you have to sit there and be like, "Well, I think they're really good, but they
01:14:43 just got bums around them."
01:14:45 It's a weird thing we do where it's like, "Oh, he has too much help."
01:14:48 It's like, "Who cares?"
01:14:49 Yeah.
01:14:50 I would equate it to football.
01:14:52 Deion Sanders, Mary Sanders in Detroit.
01:14:56 Then you look at the flip side, Christian McCaffrey, how he was viewed before he got
01:15:01 to the Niners.
01:15:02 It's like, "Oh, he's great, but they lose all the time."
01:15:03 It's like, "Well, yeah, his team's not very good."
01:15:05 Then he goes to the Niners and it's like, "Oh, it's not fair.
01:15:08 He has all of these weapons."
01:15:09 I'm like, "No, he's still a monster.
01:15:11 He's just in a better situation.
01:15:12 It's not his fault that they got great linemen, a great defense, great threats at the receiver
01:15:16 spot.
01:15:17 He's still a monster.
01:15:18 It doesn't change that."
01:15:19 It's actually the Barry Sanders versus Emmitt Smith.
01:15:21 It happened at the same time.
01:15:22 Yeah, where it's like there were Emmitt Smith people.
01:15:25 It's like, "How could you be an Emmitt Smith person if you have your eyes and a brain in
01:15:28 your head?"
01:15:29 Yeah, he has the rings and he has the records, but Barry Sanders is incredible.
01:15:34 That's what he does.
01:15:35 Yes.
01:15:36 Flip him.
01:15:37 We're going to get back to CJ McCollum in a second.
01:15:40 Before we do, he's being brought to you by Chevy.
01:15:42 As everyone knows, this is a Chevy truck podcast.
01:15:45 The greatest trucks ever built and our good friends at Chevrolet have been a big part
01:15:49 of my take story.
01:15:50 From the Silverado that helped us dig the biggest hole ever dug in Ohio during grit
01:15:54 week to the Silverado partnering with us to give college fullbacks all the rightful recognition
01:15:59 that they deserve with the Low Man Award, the sweetest trophy in college football.
01:16:03 They also powered our nonstop cross country trip to the Super Bowl in LA.
01:16:06 It was behind the wheel of a Chevy Silverado.
01:16:09 We love Chevy.
01:16:10 We are a Chevy truck podcast.
01:16:12 Through and through, up and down, Chevy Silverado, long time awesome partner of the show, a truck
01:16:16 with commanding and unstoppable grit, legendary capability, dependability too.
01:16:21 I love Chevy.
01:16:22 Go check out a Chevy dealership today.
01:16:24 Get behind the wheel of a Silverado, see how it feels, drive past a mirrored window, look
01:16:28 at yourself behind the wheel and say to yourself, I'm a truck guy.
01:16:31 I'm a Silverado guy.
01:16:33 I'm a PMT guy.
01:16:34 This is the truck for me.
01:16:35 Find out for yourself like so many other AWLs, head to chevy.com, check out all the Chevy
01:16:40 truck grit, build your own Silverado for do it yourself projects to road trips, off-road
01:16:46 adventures to tailgates, whatever your thing is, it all starts with a Chevy truck.
01:16:50 And now here's more CJ McCollum.
01:16:53 You were talking earlier about some guys setting some pretty devastating illegal screens.
01:16:58 From your perspective, because the NBA is all about responding to like switching on
01:17:02 screens, picking roles.
01:17:03 That's to me like the teams that have the most success consistently.
01:17:07 That's usually how they do it.
01:17:08 Who is, who's the best at setting illegal picks?
01:17:11 Shout out to my boy Nerc in Phoenix.
01:17:15 Nerc is a legal, one of the best illegal screeners of all time.
01:17:22 Take it back a little bit.
01:17:25 Omar Asik, he was a good screen setter.
01:17:28 What's the big fella's name in Minnesota who had a huge head?
01:17:34 He played with Kevin Love.
01:17:36 He was a great screen setter.
01:17:39 I look at that like today.
01:17:40 It's funny because there's not a lot of actual fives.
01:17:43 Shout out to my guy, JV.
01:17:45 JV is a great legal screen setter.
01:17:47 He's had some really, really good screens.
01:17:50 There's not a lot of true fives.
01:17:52 What about Bam?
01:17:53 Bam gets real wide on his screens.
01:17:55 Bam gets wide on his screens, but he likes to get out.
01:17:57 He likes to slip out so he can get dunks.
01:18:01 He will make contact when it's there, I'm trying to think.
01:18:07 There's not a lot of like when Z-Bo played, when Marcus Song played.
01:18:12 Those were like when I first got into the league.
01:18:15 That's when you had real fives.
01:18:18 We had seven foot four, four men who posted up.
01:18:21 I played with Robin Lopez, great screen setter.
01:18:24 LaMarcus was a really good screen setter, especially when he could roll to that middie
01:18:29 and knock it down.
01:18:31 Boogie was a good screen setter too.
01:18:33 Boogie.
01:18:34 Boogie was a good screen setter.
01:18:36 Are there ever times when you're playing in a game that someone forgets to yell out a
01:18:40 screen?
01:18:41 Yeah, all the time.
01:18:42 Really?
01:18:43 All right.
01:18:44 Yeah, because I didn't know if that was like so, you guys are obviously, you're so fucking
01:18:48 good, but it will happen, not to relate it to pickup, but it will happen in pickup and
01:18:52 you'll be like, "Where the fuck, why didn't you just say there was a screen?"
01:18:55 You just get absolutely crushed.
01:18:57 What happens when someone forgets to yell out that there's a screen coming?
01:19:01 It depends on who didn't yell it out.
01:19:03 If it's one of the OGs or somebody that you know historically yells it out and you either
01:19:08 didn't hear it or they forgot, then you give them a pass.
01:19:10 But it was like, depending on the type of player, you're going to be like, "Yo, you
01:19:15 can't be leaving me out here like that.
01:19:17 You're going to get me hurt or something worse could happen."
01:19:23 You know what I mean?
01:19:24 Especially if you pick it up and you turn and turn and they got that blind screen in
01:19:27 the backcourt to try to knock you out.
01:19:30 That's the type of screen.
01:19:31 Somebody like Patrick Beverly, right?
01:19:32 Patrick is picking up full court.
01:19:35 You want to get a blind screen on him just to get him off the guard to kind of free you
01:19:38 up.
01:19:39 Those are the times where if you've got the ball, you're just trying to set him up and
01:19:44 run him right into the screen.
01:19:45 If you're guarding the ball, you want somebody to yell out, "Screen, come and get back,"
01:19:50 or something.
01:19:51 But it's happened.
01:19:52 I've been hit a few, it's happened.
01:19:54 You're just looking like, "Who was closest?
01:19:55 Why didn't you call it out, bro?"
01:19:58 On your own offense, have you ever called out fake screens?
01:20:01 Like throwing them off their game, be like, "Pick right, pick right, switch, switch."
01:20:05 Yeah, CT put me on game today.
01:20:07 He used to do that all the time.
01:20:09 He would point, like, "Set it right there, set it right there," and then just take off.
01:20:13 I was like, "Motherfucker, nobody is there."
01:20:17 A few times, I played against guys where a lot of teams will say black or red.
01:20:23 There's a call for switch.
01:20:25 Another team would run up and be like, "Black."
01:20:28 You'll think that you're supposed to switch, and it's the other team calling it.
01:20:33 I've seen that happen a lot of times, which is funny.
01:20:36 And then you break down the coverage, and you're like, "Yo, I heard the call, but it
01:20:39 wasn't your team that called, it was the other team."
01:20:41 So stuff like that, just trying to manipulate the game and get an advantage is an important
01:20:46 part of the game, for sure.
01:20:47 Yeah, speaking of that, you play with Jose Alvarado.
01:20:51 Does he do his grand theft Alvarado thing in practice, and how much does that piss everyone
01:20:55 off?
01:20:56 He does.
01:20:57 He tries to do it in practice all the time.
01:20:58 He picks up on the floor.
01:20:59 Good dude, though.
01:21:00 Works hard, man.
01:21:01 Oh, it's awesome when he pulls it off, but I would imagine if he does it in practice,
01:21:04 he would piss you off.
01:21:05 Yeah, I mean, he's never gotten me with that in practice before, but he does pick up full
01:21:11 in practice.
01:21:12 He's talking trash, he's getting after it.
01:21:14 He's gotten a couple back tips, but the grand theft Alvarado, I think my favorite one is
01:21:18 the one he got on Bron.
01:21:19 He got Bron, and Bron was pissed.
01:21:21 Honestly, he was pissed.
01:21:23 Like, looking around at his teammates, like...
01:21:27 Yeah, you gotta call it out.
01:21:29 Someone's gotta call it out, but they don't see it.
01:21:32 I can't remember if when you first came on, I asked you this question, and maybe I did
01:21:37 and it's just a repeat, but I don't care.
01:21:39 When you were playing with Dame in all these big time moments, did you know when it was
01:21:45 Dame time?
01:21:47 Was there something that flipped in his head, or his eyes, or would he say, "Hey, CJ, just
01:21:52 so you know it's Dame time," or like, "Look at your watch."
01:21:55 Sometimes you can see the look in his eyes, or just timing score, like feeling the game
01:21:59 out, feeling the momentum, or depending on what play he calls.
01:22:04 Sometimes he'd be calling a game, we'd be calling plays back and forth, and then he'd
01:22:08 call a diagonal fist, or he'd call a play, which diagonal fist for us was basically a
01:22:14 wing goes in sets of screen for the five man, the five man runs up into a mid-pick and roll,
01:22:18 and he kind of gets downhill or he shoots a three.
01:22:20 When he started calling his own plays or his own number, or no play, and he just pulls
01:22:25 up from 40, I'm like, "Yeah, he about to turn up."
01:22:29 Or if it was a momentum swinging play, right?
01:22:32 They hit a shot, he gets a layup and one, and he starts celebrating, or he yells, because
01:22:36 he never really celebrates until the game's over.
01:22:38 If he yells or, "Motherfucker," he starts doing that, I'm like, "Oh, yeah, he about
01:22:42 to get in his bag.
01:22:43 He about to really turn up."
01:22:45 And then he might start tapping his wrist, but he was serious.
01:22:49 - And there's nothing you can do in his tame time.
01:22:52 Nothing you can do at all.
01:22:53 What's the farthest you ever saw him pull up from in practice?
01:22:55 - Half court.
01:22:56 He shot the ball from half court in practice a lot of times, or a step in front of half
01:23:00 court just coming off.
01:23:02 Natural, natural shot, not even throwing the ball.
01:23:05 Impressive, man.
01:23:06 He gets really good flexion on the wrist, good dip, strong ball, just kind of flows
01:23:14 off.
01:23:15 It's an effortless shot.
01:23:16 - Yeah, it's fun to watch.
01:23:17 - It's crazy to watch, yeah.
01:23:18 - I got some New Orleans questions for you.
01:23:19 First question, how awesome is it to be the man in New Orleans?
01:23:23 - What does that mean?
01:23:24 - Just like you're the man, you're a star, you're on the Pelicans, you live in New Orleans,
01:23:30 which is probably the coolest city in the United States.
01:23:33 How awesome is it?
01:23:34 - I live a good life, man.
01:23:35 I'm thankful, I'm blessed to be in a position where I get to play a sport.
01:23:38 I get to be in a place like New Orleans that's hungry for success, great culture, great community,
01:23:48 great food, great drinks, depending on what you like, heavy on the French influence.
01:23:53 To be able to go from where we were at before I got here to two out of three years making
01:23:57 the playoffs to really just kind of improve.
01:24:00 I think we had the second most wins in franchise history.
01:24:03 Obviously, this is like Saints country, right?
01:24:05 But it's a blessing to be able to play here.
01:24:07 My family and I love it.
01:24:08 And like you said before, man, I'm just trying to take advantage of the blessings, work hard,
01:24:12 and just trying to get us in a position to go on a real run, man.
01:24:15 We need health, we need a lot of things to kind of go our way, but I think we're right
01:24:20 there, man.
01:24:21 We're close to making a real run eventually.
01:24:23 - Yeah, you said the food.
01:24:26 If I lived in New Orleans and I was on your salary, I would be fat as shit.
01:24:29 I would get, I would eat so much.
01:24:31 - Not fat, heavy.
01:24:32 - Not, very sturdy.
01:24:33 I would be a sturdy man.
01:24:35 - Yeah, sturdy, heavy and strong.
01:24:37 I think it's balanced, man.
01:24:39 Like nothing is perfect.
01:24:40 You got to figure out, I always say 80/20 rule, man, like 80% 20.
01:24:45 I'm more like 90/10.
01:24:46 I love French fries, I like gumbo.
01:24:49 I eat out once or twice a week, but Chef Joy be holding me down and just making sure I'm
01:24:53 doing what I'm supposed to do.
01:24:55 But it's easy to venture out and eat some things you're not supposed to eat, especially
01:25:01 out here.
01:25:02 - Yeah, I read an article that you, after the season, you do 21 days, no basketball.
01:25:07 Now does that, like if you were walking, like you were saying you were walking with the
01:25:13 stroller, if you're walking by a park in the 21 days and a kid's playing and they're like,
01:25:18 "CJ, take a shot, you won't do it."
01:25:20 - That's a tough dilemma.
01:25:22 So like, I normally don't, I don't work out.
01:25:27 So like shooting, I don't count shooting.
01:25:29 So like if a kid was like, "Shoot the ball," or whatever, I'd shoot it.
01:25:32 Or like the old school commercials, I might try to go dunk it if the court was low or
01:25:35 whatever.
01:25:36 - Yeah.
01:25:37 - But like two weeks into my break, I took my son to the gym and it was just way too
01:25:43 hot outside.
01:25:44 And he was like, "Too hot, too hot, dadad."
01:25:46 So I took him to the gym and he's like, "Ball, dadad, ball."
01:25:51 So I started shooting.
01:25:52 That was in my slides, but like, I don't count that because I'm not actually working out.
01:25:56 I'm just messing around, like just playing with my son, having fun.
01:25:59 - Yeah.
01:26:00 - I don't count it.
01:26:01 - Okay, that's like the height of my workout, so that's good.
01:26:05 You're like, "I don't count shooting."
01:26:06 It's like if I shoot, we have our basketball court here, I shoot 100 jumpers, I'm like,
01:26:10 "Man, that was a hell of a workout."
01:26:12 - Yeah.
01:26:13 - That was my whole day.
01:26:15 - Got my cardio in.
01:26:16 - Yeah, I really did it.
01:26:17 I really did it.
01:26:18 - 100 is crazy.
01:26:19 That's it?
01:26:20 - I'll do more.
01:26:21 It just depends on the time I have.
01:26:23 We got the machine, so we'll fire it up.
01:26:27 - Yeah, what do you-
01:26:28 - Are you shooting?
01:26:29 You got a gun?
01:26:30 - Yeah, we got the gun.
01:26:31 Yeah, we got the gun.
01:26:32 What do you consider a workout?
01:26:33 How many shots?
01:26:34 - 100 would not be a workout.
01:26:35 Like-
01:26:36 - How many shots do you shoot?
01:26:37 - I mean, my warmup is like 100 makes, just to get loose.
01:26:43 So-
01:26:44 - Shit.
01:26:45 How many do you make when you shoot?
01:26:46 - I'll make like 50 of them.
01:26:47 - That's pretty good.
01:26:48 - I'd say like 300 plus, depending on time.
01:26:52 If I'm doing a 45-minute workout, unless it's 10 or 15 minutes of ball handling, I'm getting
01:26:59 400 to 500 easy.
01:27:00 - Okay.
01:27:01 - Yeah.
01:27:02 - Easy.
01:27:03 And that's like movement.
01:27:04 That's off the bounce.
01:27:05 So, I'm not gonna go in there and shoot.
01:27:06 I might finish with 100, 150 makes.
01:27:09 - This might be a dumb question, but have you ever gone shooting and just one day you
01:27:12 suck at basketball?
01:27:13 You're just not good.
01:27:14 - I mean, this is a lot.
01:27:15 You have days where you don't shoot the ball well.
01:27:17 Like I've had days, and it's funny because the casual will understand, getting a gym
01:27:22 with a pro, and it's completely different.
01:27:25 Like a bad shooting day for me, I'm probably making 65% of my shots.
01:27:28 And that's like a bad, like I'm bricking.
01:27:31 Nobody in the gym.
01:27:32 Empty gym.
01:27:33 65% of my, like it's a bad day.
01:27:36 I'm hitting eight, nine out of 10.
01:27:39 Those are like normal days.
01:27:40 If we go do, we do 100 threes, a bad day I'm making 75 out of 100.
01:27:45 That's like a terrible day.
01:27:46 Like that was a bad, like my second workout, I hit 75 out of 100.
01:27:50 It was a terrible day.
01:27:51 - Yeah.
01:27:52 - And that was after like 21 days.
01:27:54 Like if normal day, 80 plus out of 100, and I'm talking threes.
01:27:59 And I'm shooting how I normally shoot, 90, 92, 93 out of 100.
01:28:04 And the, like a normal NBA player, empty gym, jumper is wet.
01:28:10 Like jumper is wet.
01:28:12 You put them in like fans, whatever, like that's going to change the game a little bit.
01:28:14 But even like guys that missed free throws down the stretch of games, like big men that
01:28:19 can't make free throws, like historically pick a big man, put them in an empty gym,
01:28:23 cash.
01:28:24 - Yeah.
01:28:25 - Like when we had the whole NBA, NFL argument, and it's a dumb argument that we should save
01:28:30 for the middle of summer.
01:28:31 But that was the one thing I kept going back to.
01:28:34 I was like, if you've ever had the luck of watching an NBA player shoot in an empty gym,
01:28:40 they literally do not miss.
01:28:41 It's not like, oh, this is the, like they will shoot and they'll take a hundred threes
01:28:46 and they'll make 95 of them.
01:28:49 No problem.
01:28:50 Like that's the level that they're shooting.
01:28:52 That's the baseline of like their shooting ability.
01:28:54 And that's like everyone on the entire team.
01:28:57 Even the last guy on the bench is still an incredible shooter.
01:29:00 - Right.
01:29:01 Yeah, I think it's, that's a tough argument because like every NFL player can't hoop in
01:29:07 the league and every hooper can't play in the NFL, but there are some NFL guys that
01:29:11 could come over and there's some NBA guys that can slide over to the NFL.
01:29:15 It's not to say one sport is harder than the other or whatever the case may be.
01:29:18 There's just some incredible athletes in this world.
01:29:21 Like there's some DBs, there's some receivers that like, I haven't seen a hoop, but I'm
01:29:24 like, oh, he got game.
01:29:25 Like he's nice.
01:29:27 And there's some guys that I've seen that are just freak athletes, like Bron and some
01:29:32 of those guys where you're like, are you telling me Zion can't go play football?
01:29:36 Like I could go play football if he really wanted to.
01:29:40 Like Bron could go play.
01:29:41 Russ, there's some guys that could go play football and there's some, some NFL guys that
01:29:46 could slide over and be a shooting guard or a small forward.
01:29:50 I've seen some of those guys shoot the ball.
01:29:51 I've seen some of those guys that are athletes, the quarterback, the quarterback from Florida.
01:29:56 I seen some of those guys move and dunk and jump and they'll be all right.
01:30:01 The hard part is, you know, the contact, figuring out like for the, for the NBA guy that goes
01:30:07 to the NFL, like which, is he a DB?
01:30:10 Is he a wide receiver?
01:30:11 Cause everybody don't want, everybody ain't trying to go across that middle.
01:30:15 It is a different, different ball game.
01:30:17 So let's talk about the difference in shooting when there's an arena filled with fans.
01:30:20 There was a very funny video that went viral last week and it was like a guy pretending
01:30:25 to be an NBA player and he's like, oh, I don't shoot well on the road.
01:30:28 The fans are mean.
01:30:29 And they're, they're saying I'm bad when I'm trying to shoot.
01:30:32 What is it about shooting in front of a hostile crowd that makes you worse at shooting?
01:30:35 Like what ultimately is it just not being comfortable with the gym or is it people,
01:30:39 you know, saying you suck?
01:30:41 Is it people booing you?
01:30:42 Why are players worse on the road than they are at home?
01:30:45 I think it's a combination of things.
01:30:46 I think it's, it's not familiar territory.
01:30:50 Your routine is different.
01:30:51 You sleep in a hotel, pregame meal is different.
01:30:53 If you've got a chef, travel, you're on a bus, everything is a little different.
01:30:58 And it's not a gym you shoot in every day.
01:31:00 And then I think the factor of, it's something psychologically when someone cheers for you
01:31:04 versus when someone boo's for you, especially when you shoot.
01:31:06 But the funny part is most of our team this year in the rolling shot better on the road
01:31:10 than they did at home.
01:31:11 And we had the best road record in the NBA.
01:31:13 I think we went 28 and 14 or something like that.
01:31:16 And my numbers side by side, I shot better from three, better from two on the road.
01:31:22 So it's just a matter of like routine, what you do, how much time you have.
01:31:28 I think at home for me personally, like I shoot more at home to try to get ready for
01:31:32 home games than I do on the road.
01:31:34 And I shoot better on the road.
01:31:35 I get less reps, probably get more sleep.
01:31:40 But I think I get less reps for sure on game days.
01:31:43 At home, I stay after I shoot, I go do a shooting drill.
01:31:46 On the road, you got 15 minutes on the clock before you get kicked out of the gym because
01:31:49 they got to set up for something else or the other teams.
01:31:52 So I think it's a combination of things that factor in.
01:31:55 But it's something about being booed.
01:31:58 As opposed to, imagine when you shoot a three and you're like, "Three!"
01:32:01 And then when you shoot three, you're like, "You suck!"
01:32:03 You're at the free throw line, they booing you, they talking about your mama, talking
01:32:06 about your daddy, whatever the case may be.
01:32:09 And at the crib, they cheering for you until something doesn't go right and then they might
01:32:14 put the switch on you depending on what market you're in.
01:32:17 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:32:18 I was just going to say, in Philly, they start to boo you, but then they start to be nice
01:32:22 to you to get you out of a slump.
01:32:24 And then you turn into a really good player.
01:32:25 True.
01:32:26 Great sports sound.
01:32:27 Yeah.
01:32:28 What's the status of your beef with KD that, I think it's long since squash, but we actually
01:32:34 had a part in the original beef.
01:32:37 Because you coming on our show started that a little bit.
01:32:41 That is like, "KD, my guy, we in a group chat together and I actually need to check on him,
01:32:45 see how you doing."
01:32:46 Text him right now and tell him you're doing PMT and said that we'd love to have him on.
01:32:51 He'll probably leave the group chat.
01:32:52 I'm doing PMT.
01:32:53 He's going to leave the group chat.
01:32:57 He said they would love to have you on.
01:33:02 Yeah, squash the beef.
01:33:03 He still watches my Instagram stories I send him and he just, yeah.
01:33:07 That hurt.
01:33:08 Well, no, he'll just like, or if I do an Instagram story like playing pickup, he'll just respond
01:33:13 and be like, "Get this trash off the court."
01:33:15 And then I'll send him being like, "Hey, you want to come on?"
01:33:18 And he'll just read it and not respond.
01:33:20 Oh, that's him.
01:33:21 Yeah, it hurts my feelings every time, but I also kind of laugh.
01:33:26 That's funny.
01:33:27 I got to ask him, I seen this Tinder profile that looked like it was his.
01:33:30 Yeah, I saw that too.
01:33:31 Oh.
01:33:32 He might be out there.
01:33:33 All right.
01:33:34 I have one last question.
01:33:35 Let us know if he responds real quick, but I have one last question.
01:33:40 This has been awesome, CJ.
01:33:41 We definitely have to get you in person too in Chicago when you're here next.
01:33:46 Rowback question, R-H-O-B-A-C-K.com.
01:33:49 Promo code take 20% off your first purchase.
01:33:51 Q-Zips, polos, hoodies, joggers, shorts, rowback.com.
01:33:54 They also have swimsuits, summertime, rowback.com, promo code take.
01:33:58 All right, so what are we adding to our game this summer?
01:34:02 That's one of my favorite things that every NBA player ... It's kind of a cool flex being
01:34:07 like my game is so good, I'm going to add this little niche thing, this little one move
01:34:12 that no one's expecting.
01:34:14 What's the one move that you're adding this year?
01:34:16 I wouldn't necessarily say move.
01:34:18 I'm working on ... See if he responds.
01:34:20 He didn't respond yet.
01:34:21 What did he say?
01:34:22 I sent it to the group.
01:34:23 I didn't send it to him directly.
01:34:24 He didn't respond yet.
01:34:25 Okay.
01:34:26 It said, "Six swing, swing to the corner," was the first comment.
01:34:31 I'm working on paint finishing.
01:34:34 That's a real big point of emphasis for me.
01:34:37 Obviously, spacing and a lot of those things play a factor, but I got to have better court
01:34:42 awareness and understanding of just making sure people are in the right spots, keeping
01:34:46 my assistance turnover ratio right.
01:34:49 Paint finishing is huge.
01:34:50 I was only 58.3% at the rim, so I got to get better.
01:34:53 I got to get to at least league average, which is 65, somewhere around there.
01:34:57 My paint shots, non-restricted area, were less than 50, 47, so I got to get better there.
01:35:03 Then just a lot more of what I've been doing, like shooting the ball really well, shooting
01:35:07 threes at a high clip, being good in pick and rolls over one point per possession, and
01:35:11 then defensively being better in pick and roll.
01:35:14 I'm never going to be a lockdown defender, but I got to be average to above average statistically
01:35:18 in terms of what the defense is like when I'm on the floor.
01:35:21 I think that's the thing that I'm working on, really just paint finishing.
01:35:27 That's going to be huge spacing-wise, floaters, touch shots, being smart with the Nash dribbles,
01:35:32 and then just trying to impact winning.
01:35:35 What's the move that you're ... I mean, you gave us the Hezzy Hay step back to freedom.
01:35:40 Is there a move in the last few years that you've been doing that you're like, "Man, this
01:35:43 is so much fun whenever I can pull this off"?
01:35:45 The Hezzy Hay is just like a classic, the step back to freedom.
01:35:49 I've been shooting a lot of transition trays lately.
01:35:52 From a lingo standpoint, what can I leave you with on the transition?
01:35:58 Transition take that.
01:35:59 Probably shouldn't say take that now because of where we're at in society, but I would
01:36:04 say a lot of transition threes.
01:36:09 We can say transition take that.
01:36:11 Yeah, take that.
01:36:12 Take that.
01:36:13 Take that.
01:36:14 Yeah, transition take that.
01:36:15 Float me.
01:36:16 I love the floater.
01:36:17 Float me.
01:36:18 Float me.
01:36:19 One of my homie, Shazim Prentice, he used to say, "You got to get up early in the morning
01:36:21 to get to that floater because it's just above your head."
01:36:27 Especially with Wimby now, you got to shoot the floater.
01:36:31 You got to have a floater.
01:36:32 You got to shoot it high because guys is coming to get all of those.
01:36:35 I say the float me and the pull up trays is a game changer.
01:36:41 It's a shot I love.
01:36:42 It's a shot I've mastered and I shoot a high percentage at it.
01:36:45 But that Hezzy Hay was legendary.
01:36:47 It was golden.
01:36:48 It was golden.
01:36:49 I love Kyrie does a lot of the float me too.
01:36:52 He's a big float me guy.
01:36:53 Kyrie's float is crazy.
01:36:54 Yeah.
01:36:55 His float is the best float the world has ever seen.
01:36:58 Left hand, right hand, glass, cash.
01:37:00 He got everything.
01:37:01 How do you stop Kyrie?
01:37:02 Is it possible?
01:37:04 I think it's you hope to contain him.
01:37:07 He has every skill set in the book.
01:37:11 Three level score, fast, quick, in great shape.
01:37:15 He was getting 40 during Ramadan.
01:37:19 He was fasting and scoring 40 on people like hungry, no water, no food.
01:37:24 That's a different type of killer, man.
01:37:30 Yeah.
01:37:31 You got to trap him.
01:37:32 I think O.K.C. did a good job of taking the ball out of his hands and just trapping him,
01:37:37 showing him different looks.
01:37:38 It's making somebody else beat you because you show one body, even if you show too late,
01:37:43 he's too good.
01:37:44 Yeah.
01:37:45 Yeah, I know O.K.C. did a better job than Minnesota, that's for sure.
01:37:49 All right, well, CJ, we got to ... I promise you it will be sooner the next time you're
01:37:54 on than this gap, and we do have to get you in person, but it's great to see you.
01:38:00 Congrats on all the success.
01:38:01 Two kids, wine mogul.
01:38:03 Also, I just looked up, since we last seen you, I think you've made like $150 million.
01:38:10 That's pretty cool.
01:38:11 That's good, yeah.
01:38:12 That's nice.
01:38:13 Do you ever just look at that?
01:38:15 Do you ever look at it like, "Oh shit," because it ...
01:38:17 Is that what happened since we last seen each other?
01:38:20 It's literally, I think you last were on in 2017, '18, you were around $60 million for
01:38:25 your career, and now you're around $215.
01:38:28 That's pretty nice.
01:38:29 That's pretty nice.
01:38:30 Praise the Lord, man.
01:38:31 This is a great world we live in, man, where if you can master something and become really
01:38:38 good at something, do things the right way, try to lead a good life, things can turn out
01:38:43 well for you, man.
01:38:44 I'm living the dream, man.
01:38:45 I'm really thankful.
01:38:46 I'm really happy and blessed.
01:38:48 I got two beautiful babies, Mary.
01:38:52 I can't complain, man.
01:38:53 I got to step back to freedom.
01:38:54 I got to float me.
01:38:55 I got to transition to take that.
01:38:56 I'm sitting in the shower today talking to you guys.
01:39:00 What can I complain about?
01:39:01 Yes.
01:39:02 Come to Aspire Freedom.
01:39:03 That's incredible.
01:39:04 Yeah, congrats, CJ.
01:39:05 Also, we left out the part that you're also the manager of our high stakes fancy football
01:39:09 league that we're in.
01:39:10 Jerry O'Connell screwed up our lineup entirely last year.
01:39:13 It's all on him.
01:39:15 Is he a pain in the ass to manage?
01:39:16 Does he send you messages behind the scenes that we don't know about?
01:39:19 No, no, no.
01:39:20 He's been cool, man.
01:39:21 No real issues.
01:39:23 This is the year where I really need to win this, man.
01:39:26 I put too much money into this fantasy football league to just continue to lose like this.
01:39:30 This is taking away from money from my Browns sweet games.
01:39:33 Yeah, yeah.
01:39:34 Oh, yeah.
01:39:35 You should have ... You had to love that Joe Flacco run.
01:39:38 Probably felt a little dirty, but still.
01:39:41 It was legendary, man.
01:39:44 It was a situation where I thought the season was over, and then it just kept getting better.
01:39:50 Then it was too good to be true, and then we ran into a young Ohio State killer, and
01:39:57 that was all she wrote.
01:39:58 It was a hell of a run, man.
01:39:59 Hopefully, this year we can be good.
01:40:02 We're going to need Chubb.
01:40:03 I don't know if Chubb will be ready, but Chubb was huge for us.
01:40:06 For him to be hurt and get injured the way he did was devastating.
01:40:11 I love my Browns.
01:40:12 We open up against the Dallas Cowboys.
01:40:13 It'll be Tom Brady's first game on Fox September 8th.
01:40:17 We rock it, baby.
01:40:18 Yeah.
01:40:19 That's big.
01:40:20 I like that you got it circled.
01:40:21 That's the sign of a true football fan when you start just ripping off your schedule sometime
01:40:27 in July or June.
01:40:28 You're like, "Yeah, we open here.
01:40:30 The next week's tough."
01:40:32 It's perfect.
01:40:33 All right.
01:40:34 Well, CJ, thanks so much, man.
01:40:35 We really appreciate it.
01:40:36 You guys, man.
01:40:37 Y'all have a good one.
01:40:38 When I get to the shot, I'll hit y'all for sure.
01:40:40 CJ McCollum was brought to you by the NWSL.
01:40:45 Things have escalated from last week's show.
01:40:48 We told you Nike hooked us up with that NWSL gear and how we wanted to go to that Red Stars
01:40:53 game next Saturday, June 8th at Wrigley Field.
01:40:55 Since then, that game is on track to potentially break the league's attendance record, so it's
01:40:59 official.
01:41:00 The Barstool Chicago crew is going.
01:41:03 You all need to show up.
01:41:04 Soccer at Wrigley.
01:41:05 Let's break that record.
01:41:06 We're going to report back after the game, but if you don't live in Chicago, you got
01:41:09 to get to a game.
01:41:10 All we keep hearing, "So much fun.
01:41:12 Get to an NWSL game this year.
01:41:14 Check out the schedules.
01:41:15 Buy some tickets.
01:41:16 It's going to be a blast.
01:41:17 Get involved with the NWSL."
01:41:18 Okay.
01:41:19 That is our show, unless we have anything else.
01:41:22 Oh, did you guys see Lenny Kravitz said that he hasn't had sex in nine years?
01:41:24 Yeah, hasn't fucked in nine years.
01:41:26 That must be really difficult for Lenny Kravitz to do that.
01:41:29 That's insane.
01:41:30 I would actually believe it if he has not cum in nine years, but he was fucking, but
01:41:35 he's so good at holding it.
01:41:37 Lenny Kravitz is so hot that there's no one on earth that can make him cum?
01:41:40 Right, and he's just like, "I can control it so well.
01:41:43 Yeah, I'll fuck you for an hour, but then I'm just going to go home."
01:41:46 Maybe he's just unanal.
01:41:47 That could possibly be it.
01:41:48 But Lenny Kravitz strictly butts stuff.
01:41:49 He does.
01:41:52 There's just no way.
01:41:53 I mean, he has cooler sex than everyone else.
01:41:57 He keeps the scarf on.
01:41:59 Yeah.
01:42:00 Look at him.
01:42:01 He's doing ... Is that actually Lenny Kravitz?
01:42:02 Is that just ... Lenny Kravitz might lead the league in lookalikes if he's got some
01:42:06 tattoos.
01:42:07 Yeah, it's either Lenny Kravitz or an anemic Larry Fitzgerald.
01:42:12 Oh, yeah.
01:42:14 Is he retired?
01:42:15 No, he never actually retired.
01:42:17 He just kind of stopped playing football.
01:42:19 Yeah.
01:42:20 We got to figure out something to talk about on Wednesday because we have just no sports
01:42:23 going on.
01:42:24 Let's see.
01:42:25 What do we got?
01:42:26 What do we got in the news?
01:42:27 Let us know what you want us to talk about.
01:42:28 We could do ... You know, we could make a list.
01:42:29 It's not Mount Rushmore season yet, but we could make a list for everyone.
01:42:33 We could do that headline thing.
01:42:34 Oh, yeah.
01:42:35 We could do the headline thing.
01:42:36 We could do the headline.
01:42:37 We could do the NFL NBA.
01:42:38 No, no.
01:42:41 I like the idea of making a list.
01:42:43 Yeah, let's make a list.
01:42:44 Top two.
01:42:45 We'll do a top- Let us know what list you want us to make.
01:42:46 How about Hank's top 10 Patriots of all time?
01:42:50 Ooh.
01:42:51 No, let's get ... Yeah.
01:42:53 Tell us, the AWLs, let us know what list you want, sports related, and we'll come up with
01:42:58 a list.
01:42:59 We're going to rank something.
01:43:00 Yeah, we'll rank something and get everyone upset about it.
01:43:02 Mm-hmm.
01:43:03 PMT makes a list and gets the internet mad at them.
01:43:05 Yeah.
01:43:06 The NFL summer season will start after the NBA finals, which actually the ... Are the
01:43:10 Stanley Cup finals going to go later this year?
01:43:13 No.
01:43:14 I don't think so.
01:43:15 Because they go every two nights.
01:43:16 No, because there's less time.
01:43:17 Yeah, they go every two nights because they're not pussies.
01:43:18 Yeah.
01:43:19 That's a lot of travel for them.
01:43:20 We deserve-
01:43:21 Eight hour flight.
01:43:22 Are there any ... There's not any nights where there's both.
01:43:26 That would suck.
01:43:27 Actually, game seven of Stanley Cup will be Monday the 24th, which would be the day after
01:43:30 game seven of the NBA.
01:43:31 Oh, wow.
01:43:32 Wow.
01:43:33 So, if they both go seven, NHL will be the top.
01:43:34 Wow.
01:43:35 Damn.
01:43:36 That's tough.
01:43:37 Kind of tough by them.
01:43:38 Hank, you just got to get game one here.
01:43:42 You just got to get game one here.
01:43:43 I'm going to get game one here.
01:43:44 You got to get game one-
01:43:45 It's actually two days off-
01:43:46 To arrive.
01:43:47 Between the three of the games.
01:43:48 I know.
01:43:49 I'm saying you physically can't handle just this wait.
01:43:52 You got to get game one here.
01:43:54 Is there any way to speed up time?
01:43:56 Can you figure out a way to get game one here?
01:43:59 Sleep?
01:44:00 Golf.
01:44:01 No, come on.
01:44:02 If you just golf every second between here and game one, it will get here fast.
01:44:05 If you black out, that's kind of like time travel.
01:44:07 I think Josh Allen just did a charity 110 holes in one day thing last week.
01:44:13 I don't know if you guys saw that.
01:44:15 Hank could never do charity.
01:44:17 He accidentally did that.
01:44:20 Get game one here.
01:44:21 I'll see what I can do.
01:44:25 Figure it out.
01:44:26 I will.
01:44:27 Okay, numbers.
01:44:28 20.
01:44:29 56.
01:44:30 18.
01:44:31 You're so pressed, Max.
01:44:32 So pressed.
01:44:33 17.
01:44:34 That was pressed.
01:44:35 eight three. Oh damn. Fifty nine. I make you a little nervous. That make you a little nervous.
01:45:02 Have you ever gotten this? Nope. That make you a little nervous? Nope. Love you guys.
