With temperatures expected to rise over the coming weeks, we ask Londoners where best spot for an outdoor swim is.
Transcript
00:00Temperatures are set to rise in London over the next few weeks but as the days get warmer
00:07how will people in the capital cool off?
00:10Well there are plenty of outdoor Lido's and lakes to take a dip in but where do Londoners
00:16think is the best spot?
00:17Hopefully we're going to get some sun at some point.
00:18Yep.
00:19Outdoor swimming, is there any place you'd go in London to do that?
00:20I'm a member at Brockpole Lido so I swim there weekly and then I'll often go to Beckenham
00:31Park, there's a lake there that people swim in and then try and get to the seaside as
00:37much as possible as well so there's a few options.
00:40Amazing.
00:41So would you consider Beckenham Park as almost like wild swimming and if it's a lake is it
00:46wild swimming?
00:47Yeah, I mean some people that have grown up near the sea will find it weird that you have
00:53to go and pay to go and swim in a lake.
00:57I guess it is quite wild, it feels quite wild there, there's reeds and there's animals that
01:01come and hang out whilst you swim so it feels kind of wild but it's not that huge, it's
01:06nice though.
01:07Where would it be?
01:13Well, Hampstead springs to mind but yeah, I would normally go swimming in the sea, South
01:23Coast, Brighton, places like that.
01:26I think they do it at Hampstead Heath, I think that's the only place I'm aware that you can
01:31do it, it's not really my thing to be honest mate.
01:34Is there anywhere, do you think there should be more outdoor spaces in London for people
01:38to go swimming?
01:39100%, 100% yeah.
01:40I mean if the water looks clean and you're not scared of jumping in and catching something,
01:48100%, I mean it's good for kids as well to learn how to swim, keep fit and all that,
01:53good for their mental health.
