An 86-year-old man is tonight in custody after police discovered the body of his 78-year-old partner at her home in Gordon. The cause of the woman's death is yet to be confirmed and no charges have been laid. But police say they're treating it as a suspected family violence incident.

00:30 Detectives say they arrested her husband, 86-year-old Manfred Yule, at a property in
00:34 Fatton a short time afterwards.
00:36 He's currently in Canberra Hospital undergoing medical assessment for a possible cardiac
00:41 episode.
00:42 Police are yet to lay charges, but they don't suspect anyone else was involved.

00:52 are issues with mental or physical health, particularly as people get into their elder
00:57 years, that they reach out and talk to somebody, get the assistance they need.
