00:07 enforcement who serve your agency every day. And I've got some questions for you

00:12 in a moment, but there's something that is imminent and I'm concerned about

00:17 because it just put a target on the back of everybody in law enforcement at the

00:24 federal level and the local level. And that is a statement that one of our

00:31 colleagues made earlier this week. And we have jurisdiction over the FBI as

00:36 well as the A. T. F. But Marjorie Taylor Green of Georgia said

00:40 the Biden D. O. J. And FBI were planning to the Biden D. O. J. And FBI were

00:47 planning to assassinate President Trump and gave the green light. Does

00:52 everyone get it yet? What are Republicans going to do about it? This

00:59 is quite a concerning statement from an elected member of Congress because

01:06 this false statement creates the pretext for violence. It suggests to

01:14 Americans who, by the way, are armed to the teeth were a country where the

01:18 most dangerous people have access to the most dangerous weapons, and it

01:22 suggests to them that their own government and the people who wear the

01:28 badge are out to assassinate the former president. And I just want to first

01:33 clear up this falsity in the FBI this week has issued a statement to do that.

01:38 But first and foremost, the search at Mar-a-Lago, the former president was

01:42 not there, and that was intentional. So if there was an effort to assassinate

01:47 the former president, they went at a time when he was not there. Second,

01:53 the former president was actually treated better than most people during

01:56 a raid because the FBI didn't go in with the raid jackets. They wore polo

02:02 shirts to show a little bit of respect for the former president and not make

02:06 it a raid like environment. Third, standard use of force procedures were

02:13 followed during that search as they were followed in every search,

02:17 including fourth, the same search procedures and use of force policy that

02:24 was used to retrieve documents at President Biden's Delaware residence.

02:30 This is a pretext for violence, and I will yield to any of my colleagues who

02:35 will join me in condemning it.

02:40 I will yield to any colleague who will condemn the suggestion by Marjorie

02:45 Taylor Greene that the FBI was out to assassinate former President Trump.

02:50 Please condemn it, because if you don't, you are encouraging it. Of course,

02:56 you're cosigning it. Mr McClintock, please. Of course we do. What a

02:59 ridiculous question. What a ridiculous statement that she made. I agree with

03:04 you, and I don't think there's anyone here who agrees with it. Thank you.

03:08 Both sides have a lunatic fringe in their movement, ours and yours.

03:12 And frankly, I find yours far more frightening because I've never heard

03:16 somebody suggest that we were trying to assess that the FBI was trying to

03:20 assassinate a foreign president. I do appreciate Mr McClintock, you condemning.

03:24 I would welcome anyone else who would condemn that, and we'll make this

03:29 clearer when I would also, however, condemn the instructions and reclaiming

03:34 my time. Reclaiming my time in such an operation. Reclaiming my time.

03:40 Director, the former president stated last week at an NRA convention that

03:50 every single Biden attack on gun owners and manufacturers will be

03:53 terminated on my first week in office, perhaps my first day. I have a seven

03:58 year old, a five year old and a two year old. What does this mean for

04:02 parents in America as it relates to whether our kids are going to be

04:08 sheltering in place and hiding under their desks for the rest of their time

04:13 at school? If this was to happen, Congressman, I can't and won't get

04:19 involved in electoral politics. What I said in my opening statement, though, I

04:23 think hopefully people from all sides of questions can agree on, which is we

04:29 see progress being made. We see violent crime going down. We have a strategy

04:35 that appears to be working. My hope is that we can all come together and maybe

04:40 there's policy disagreements on different things. We can all come

04:43 together, though, on the fact that we're driving down violent crime all over

04:47 this country and double down on the strategies that are working. That's my

04:51 hope. The things that are working. Let's stick with because the numbers show

04:56 that real lives are being saved.
