00:10 because of her brazenness in her graduation speech.

00:13 And a grandmother in Camarinas, Surang,

00:16 returned home with her family

00:18 after graduating from senior high school.

00:27 That's why 70-year-old Lelia Caliao of Camarinas, Surang,

00:32 is all smiles.

00:34 But she's not only proud of her grandchildren's march,

00:36 but she's also proud to be on stage

00:38 for her senior high school diploma.

00:40 I'm happy because I achieved my dream.

00:44 My only dream is to get a diploma.

00:52 According to her, she only finished third year high school

00:54 because of financial problems.

00:56 In 2021, she returned as a grade 10 student

00:59 through the Alternative Learning System.

01:02 And to her success,

01:03 her biggest supporters are

01:05 11 children and 31 grandchildren.

01:10 I'm proud of her because she still managed to get up

01:14 even though we're only two

01:18 until her last stage of her high school journey.

01:23 But her education is not yet over for Lola Lelia.

01:26 Because of her hard work,

01:28 she was able to finish her college to become a teacher.

01:31 There's no age limit.

01:33 If you want to study,

01:35 if you want to achieve your dreams or goals in life,

01:41 there's no limit.

01:43 Age is just a number.

01:45 For the 10 senior citizens

01:47 who finished elementary and high school in Nueva Ecija,

01:50 they are Lola Laureta de la Cruz

01:53 and Lola Lolita Simula, both 80 years old.

01:56 The reason why they were not able to get a formal education

01:59 is because of poverty.

02:01 So, they were given the chance to study

02:04 and they didn't hesitate.

02:06 And aside from the diploma,

02:07 the 10 senior citizens also received the Model of the Youth Award.
