Liam Keen gives his take on what Wolves may try and do across the January transfer window.

00:00 On the transfer window, obviously at the moment it's very quiet. Obviously rumours circulate
00:13 as they do, but not a lot of concrete news in terms of Wolves. Obviously a couple of
00:19 weeks ago we had the talks, the reported talks with Che Adams. So what's the latest really?
00:26 Obviously it's going to be slow and then it will ramp up, but has any more come of that?
00:32 And what are the areas do you think Gary O'Neill will want to target first in the transfer
00:38 window?
00:39 Yeah, there was a quote just before the season ended from Gary O'Neill to say that it's no
00:44 surprise and it should be no shock that most of the business is done on August 30th and
00:49 August 31st. And that's for a lot of reasons. The way the market moves, the way that prices
00:54 increase or decrease, clubs don't want to lose players, then all of a sudden they have
00:58 a replacement and deals can happen. So as with almost every summer, I'm sure it will
01:04 drag on for Wolves when it comes to the majority of their business. But as you mentioned, Che
01:08 Adams is one that we know they've definitely been in conversations with. The fact that
01:11 Southampton have now gone up may impact that. I would imagine they have a contract on the
01:15 table for him and the money he may be asking for could have some sort of impact from Wolves'
01:20 point of view. But we're working to find out the latest on that because we know he's a
01:23 player that Wolves want. He's a player they've wanted for a little while. He will, if he
01:27 does arrive on a free transfer, add good depth to the striking options. But I would hope
01:32 that they would bring in an extra striker on top of that. So for the positions we're
01:36 talking about, striker is the obvious one. You probably need two, including Che Adams,
01:41 if he is signing that they are able to go over the line. Two would be, I think, roughly
01:46 about right considering you have Huang, you can play there. You've got other players you
01:49 can play there, but you've got a bit of a stronger forward line. The next one is wingers.
01:54 Pedroneto obviously, you know, depends on whether he stays in the club or not, but he's
01:58 the only real out and out winger that Wolves have at the club. They've got Sarabia, Kunya,
02:03 Huang, Bellegarde, who are all very different forwards, sort of inside forwards, number
02:08 10 forwards, false striker forwards, not really out and out wingers like Pedroneto is. So
02:13 that needs addressing, absolutely. And then for me, the next one, me and Nathan have spoken
02:18 about it quite a lot, would be centre back because they've got a lot of talent in there.
02:23 I think Totti Gomez, Santi Bueno and Max Killmann are all very good players and very different
02:28 players at the same time. But when Craig Dawson was out injured and it was those three, or
02:33 those three occasionally without Santi Bueno when he was injured and Nelson Smedo was in,
02:38 it needed a bit more experience, a bit more leadership, I felt. And I feel like that could
02:42 be an area they could definitely make an addition in, particularly if they're going to stick
02:45 with a back five. And on top of that, it may impact Yosemite Mosquera, his future, whether
02:52 it's with or without Wolves, could impact whether they make an addition there. So centre
02:56 back, I think, sneakily, will be a really important one for Wolves fans to keep an eye
03:00 on going into the summer.
