00:00I think it says a lot for Aston Martin Formula One.

00:05For them to be given me this opportunity, it just shows their belief in me,

00:08and their trust in me, and their dedication to it.

00:12So, yeah, I'm very happy.

00:14This is something that's been on the cards for quite a while now,

00:16so it's something that I've had time to mentally prepare myself for.

00:20I've been with the team for, you know, this is my third year,

00:23and I really honestly think that it shows how...

00:27..how much belief they have in me, how much trust they have in me,

00:30how much they want me to succeed,

00:32and it really gives me an opportunity to show them

00:36why I've been given this role,

00:39and that I deserve the opportunity to do this.

00:41It's a big moment. It's a big moment for me.

00:43It's a big moment for the team.

00:45It's a big moment for women's sport, or women's motorsport especially.

00:48And I think in all different areas of sport at the moment,

00:52we're growing and showing that we have as much reason to be here as the men.

00:59So, hopefully, this is the first step of more women getting into Formula One,

01:06and we see those younger girls in grassroots,

01:09karting or lower formulas coming up

01:13and getting opportunities like these,

01:15not just for a test, but to be racing.

01:19And, yeah, I'm very happy to be leading the way,

01:23or I'm very happy to be one of the leading ladies in this.

01:27Look, I'm very excited, and I'd be lying if I said that there were no nerves, of course.

01:31I think it would be unusual if I wasn't nervous,

01:33but it's not overriding.

01:35I feel prepared. I think I would feel more nervous if I wasn't prepared,

01:38but I feel prepared. I've done everything I can do.

01:40The sim's gone well, the gym's gone well.

01:42I've prepared in every possible way that I can.

01:46Yes, I'm excited. I think it's going to be...

01:48Do you know, after the first and second time that it didn't happen,

01:51when we got so close to it happening,

01:55I built myself up so much for it that it was...

01:58I felt really quite strange afterwards,

02:03After this, I'll be able to just relax a little bit more.
