00:11 The former Guamusang MP said Anwar's biggest challenge remains managing the economy, which

00:16 has been hampered by a depreciating ringgit and rising inflation.

00:20 The cost of living has gone up.

00:22 Even in rural areas where you have to import barang, you know, see by constituency Guamusang,

00:29 you have to buy things from here and bring to Guamusang, costs a lot of money.

00:34 And they feel it.

00:36 In February, the ringgit slid to 4.8 against the US dollar, the lowest since the Asian

00:41 financial crisis.

00:42 However, last Tuesday, Anwar told the Global Forum on Islamic Economics and Finance that

00:48 the exchange rate had recovered to a good level at 4.69 ringgit, thanks to an improving

00:53 economy.

00:54 Separately, Tengku Razali also noted that the Anwar administration has been criticized

00:59 for the slow pace of reforms.

01:01 He contended that the slow pace may be because many of the proposed reforms require deep

01:05 analysis.

01:06 You really have to talk to people, you have to really understand the problem, why it is

01:13 like that, you know.

01:15 And if you want to reform, having a new, new approaches, you really have to make sure that

01:25 those new approaches cover all those problems.
