00:06 While appearing on the Zach Sang Show on May 23rd,
00:10 the 13 Reasons Why star reflects on his decision
00:13 to take a pause on acting and focus on his band, Wallows.
00:17 - And I was very fortunate to find success in it.
00:20 Like we've always worked a ton
00:22 and then I was on, you know, 13 Reasons Why
00:24 and it was really popular and definitely reached a peak
00:27 in like so far in what I've had in acting
00:29 but it also started to feel like a bit of a job.
00:33 - Dylan notes that what he once enjoyed about acting
00:37 started to fade away as it felt like, quote, just a job.
00:41 So he redirected his time to his band.
00:44 - I feel like Wallows and music is like this passion
00:49 that we've always had as a group
00:50 to like really take all the way as far as we can.
00:53 And I was like, I feel like I'm in a position now
00:56 where I can just kind of like do that for a while.
00:58 And I feel like get this as far as it can be.
01:01 And the only way that's gonna happen
01:01 is if I put my a hundred percent time and energy into it
01:04 and like take it very seriously and show the world
01:06 that we all take this very seriously.
01:08 This is a real band.
01:09 We're gonna do real band things and watch this.
01:11 - As Dylan, who formed the indie rock band
01:14 with Cole Preston and Braden LeMasters in 2017,
01:18 put it, quote, "I'm following what feels natural
01:21 and inspiring at the time."
01:23 The 26 year old also reveals
01:25 that he intended to start acting again last year,
01:28 but didn't due to the SAG after a strike.
01:32 And although his last projects
01:33 were the Dropout and Scream in 2022,
01:36 Dylan does see himself returning to the screen soon.
01:40 - And I feel like I'm actually starting
01:41 to have more inspiration for it.
01:43 Like I'm starting to feel like,
01:43 I feel like I have something to give artistically
01:46 and creatively in other fields than just music right now.
01:48 I do feel like I have something to give
01:50 and that's probably acting,
01:51 but like, I feel like there's something,
01:53 I feel like I'm starting to feel inspiration
01:54 for that again.
01:55 So yeah, like at some point when we've like fulfilled
02:00 our wallows duties and we're all like ready to sort of,
02:02 when we're ready to like take a break as a band
02:04 or just take a second, that's when I will,
02:06 I feel like I'll have the perfect inspiration to do something
