00:00 Everyone's been asking me about this National Service, so in one pint I'm going to explain to you how it works.
00:06 First of all, all 18 year olds will have to complete some form of National Service.
00:11 Now for some of them that might mean joining the Army, but they'll still have to go through the recruitment process
00:16 and volunteer to do it in the first place to ensure that we maintain the finest armed forces here in the United Kingdom.

00:25 The other group who choose not to do that will have to give up 12 weekends, that's in their entire life,
00:31 and give something back to the community.
00:33 The reason we're doing this is there's an entire generation of people who can be given fantastic life skills
00:39 just like people were by National Service, and it's also ensuring that they know that being British
00:44 isn't just about what we can take from our country, it's about what we can put back too.
00:49 This is a bold plan for a brighter future for every single 18 year old in this country.
